In Belarus grades from 1 up to 10 are used, with 1 being worst and 10 being best. Grades of 1-3 are considered to be failing grades and are rarely seen on transcriptions, 4-5 satisfactory, 6-8 good, 9-10 excellent. The grade of Pass (Залiк) is a passing grade for courses that last longer than 1 semester, elective courses, laboratory and practical courses. It is listed on transcripts to indicate that the course requirements were met, but have not been validated by a final examination.
