Philology students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno listened to lectures from a visiting professor

On February 12, in the framework of the Cooperation Agreement with the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted distance classes for students with Kirill Shishigin, Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages.
Students of the specialties "Modern foreign languages" and "Romano-Germanic Philology" attended the lectures.
In two lectures, the visiting professor touched upon one of the urgent problems of modern linguistics, "hybridization of languages." During his speech, he elaborated on the processes of linguistic interaction, the transformation of permanent linguistic norms, as well as the impact of globalization processes on the formation of hybrid language models.
Maxim Golyshek, a 4th-year student specializing in Modern Foreign Languages, shared his impressions of the lecture:
The lectures were very interesting. I especially liked that everything was explained using examples. The teacher often linked what he was talking about with Belarusian works and the history of Belarus. It made it easier to understand the topic.
The Visiting Professor program, which is actively used by Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, is aimed at improving the quality of education and broadening the horizons of students. In addition, such events make it possible to expand cooperation between universities and strengthen friendly relations between them.
