Opening of the Confucius Institute and participation in the Rectors' Forum: Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno continues its work within the framework of the SCO Ministers of Education Meeting

On June 17, the meeting of the Ministers of Education of the SCO Member States continued its work in Minsk. Today, within the framework of this event, a conference on cooperation in education, research and production between China and Belarus, as well as the SCO University Rectors' Forum, took place. Active participants in these events were the delegation of YKSUG led by Rector Iryna Kiturka.
The China-Belarus International Conference on Cooperation in Education, Research and Production "Intellectual Interaction between China and Belarus – Joint Innovations in the Context of the Future" was held at the National Library of Belarus. Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was represented by Rector Iryna Kiturka and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Liavontsi Paulau.
A significant part of the event was the presentation of the initiative to open the Confucius Institute of YKSUG, which is being implemented by the Chinese International Foundation for the Development of Chinese Language Education, Xinjiang Normal University and YKSUG. The initiative is aimed at creating a new platform for mutual in-depth linguistic, cultural and scientific exchange between the two countries and will expand opportunities for studying Chinese language and culture for the Grodno region.
Also within the framework of the meeting, Iryna Kiturka together with the delegation of YKSUG took part in the Rectors' Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization University. This event was timed to coincide with the jubilee tenth Meeting of the Ministers of Education of the SCO Member States and brought together on its platform the leadership, experts and leading scholars from key higher education institutions of seven countries.
Participation of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in such large-scale events allows strengthening the university's position on the international educational and scientific arena and friendly ties with partner universities.
