The international scientific conference "Eastern Europe: Contexts of socio-economic development" will be held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

The conference will gather participants for the third time. The scientific event is timed to the 10th anniversary of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

The III International Scientific Conference "Eastern Europe: Contexts of Socio-economic Development" will be held on October 19. It will be attended by the leading teaching staff of educational institutions, researchers, postgraduates, undergraduates, students, educators, specialists of Belarus and Russia.

The conference aims to bring together scientists from different countries to discuss the problems of socio-economic development of Eastern European countries and exchange research experience. Strengthening the socio-economic situation of the population is one of the priority areas for the development of Eastern European countries. In the process of its implementation, the society faces various obstacles that are associated with political, social, economic, cultural and historical features of the formation of sovereign states in the post-Soviet space.

The consequences of the coronavirus pandemic have led to the transformation of labor relations, consumer behavior, market structure, and a decrease in the pace of economic development. There is a need to consolidate scientists to study and analyze strategic directions of socio-economic development of the region and to assist in solving urgent problems.

During the conference, participants will discuss the social and cultural aspects of modernization processes in the economies of Eastern Europe, monetary practices of the population and investment behavior, the development of entrepreneurship in Eastern Europe. Scientists will talk about the transformation of labor, professions in the conditions of digitalization, precarization of employment, will touch on the consumer behavior of the population of Eastern Europe, features and problems of market development in Eastern Europe. In addition, the participants will address the issues of socio-economic structure and mobility of the population of Eastern European countries.

The organizer of the event is the Department of Political Science and Sociology.

The Vice-Rector for Educational Work took part in the international forum "History for the Future. Russia and Belarus"

The forum was held on the basis of the National Library, well-known state and public figures, as well as scientists and journalists took part in it. The Forum is designed to strengthen cooperation between countries in preserving common history and cultural values. Special attention was paid to educational work with young people.

The forum discussed the preservation of historical memory as the most important state task for Russia and Belarus, the protection of common civilizational values. The forum was attended by Vice-rector for Educational Work Vasily Senko, who spoke at the historical and educational platform "Code of History" with a report "The role of student youth in preserving historical memory (on the example of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno)".

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno takes part in the International Exhibition in Turkmenistan

The Belarusian delegation is taking part in the International Exhibition and Scientific Conference "Healthcare, Education and Sports in the era of the Revival of a new era of a powerful state" (Ashgabat). Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is among the participants of the delegation.

The pavilion "Education in Belarus" was organized within the framework of the exhibition. Representatives of educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus will present the educational potential of Belarus to numerous guests of the event, acquaint those interested with the possibilities of studying at Belarusian universities, advise in detail on all emerging issues.

A number of meetings and negotiations with Turkmen colleagues are planned to be held within the framework of the exhibition. The educational and scientific potential of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is presented by the head of the Center for Internationalization of Education Elena Belokoz.

The delegation also includes representatives of the Belarusian State University, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, the Belarusian National Technical University, the Grodno State Medical University.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted a meeting of the Joint Board of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia

On October 11, a meeting of the Joint Board of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia was held on the basis of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. Rector Irina Kiturko met the guests and conducted a tour of the university.

The event was attended by Minister of Emergency Situations of Belarus Vadim Sinyavsky, Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Relief Alexander Kurenkov and Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan Bauyrzhan Syzdykov.

The heads of the rescue agencies of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia discussed the effectiveness and summed up the results of trilateral cooperation in the field of emergency prevention and response, as well as such important issues as cooperation in case of emergencies in border areas and the organization of a system of joint response to major natural and man-made accidents.

Opening the event, Vadim Sinyavsky stressed that the interaction of the emergency departments of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia is not only of a multifaceted professional nature, but also an example of good-neighborly open and friendly relations.

According to the source of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus, during the meeting, priority areas of work for next year were identified and the minutes of the meeting of the Joint Board were signed. According to the document, next year rescuers of the three countries will hold a number of events aimed at improving professional training, including practical seminars on the exchange of experience in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, emergency rescue operations in multi-storey buildings, at facilities with a mass stay of people and at enterprises for the production and storage of explosives.

The "Visiting professor" worked for a week at the Faculty of Biology and Ecology

Professor of the Department of Electricity Supply and Renewable Energy Sources of the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" Doctor of Technical Sciences Obid Tursunov conducted training sessions at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno at the Faculty of Biology and Ecology within the framework of the "Visiting Professor" program.

From October 1 to October 7, Obid Tursunov, Professor of the Department of Electricity Supply and Renewable Energy Sources of the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers", delivered lectures at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno as part of the "Visiting Professor" program.

Obid Tursunov conducted classes with undergraduates of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology of the specialties "Ecology" and "Biology" in the discipline "Adaptation of ecosystems to climate change".

The professor gave master classes and provided consultations to students and staff of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology on the processing of organic waste, catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide into methanol and products of further conversion of methanol (gasoline, ethylene, aromatic compounds).

At the international scientific and practical conference "Actual problems of ecology", which was held on October 4-5 at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Obid Tursunov made a plenary report "Prospects for the use of low-power laser biotechnology for extensive production of plant biomass in non-optimal conditions."

During the meetings with the staff of the Department of Ecology, the professor got acquainted with the scientific and educational laboratories of the faculty, and also discussed the possibilities of joint research and project activities in the field of environmental biotechnology and bioenergy.

Meetings were held with Irina Kiturko, Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Alexander Karevsky, First Vice-Rector, Anton Glazev, Head of the Research department, Elena Opekun, Head of the Technology Transfer Center, and Natalia Bashun, Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology. The parties gathered to discuss vectors of cooperation and points of contact. Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Irina Kiturko noted that Kupala residents are happy to expand cooperation with universities in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, they discussed the implementation of joint research projects in various areas, participation in scientific and educational events, exchange of employees for internships and lectures, including within the framework of the "Visiting Professor" program.

The parties are interested in the implementation of academic mobility of students for the passage of inclusive education, in specialized summer and winter schools of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The meeting also discussed the design and implementation of joint educational programs for graduates to receive two diplomas in bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as the training of highly qualified scientific personnel.

On September 22, an online seminar of the working group of employees of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno with representatives of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov took place.

In order to implement the Internationalization Strategy of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno for 2021-2025 and for the future until 2030, an online seminar was held for the development of virtual mobility within the framework of the cooperation agreement with the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was presented by the staff of the Department of Romano-Germanic Philology − Head of the Department Nadezhda Vlasyuk, Associate Professor of the Department Svetlana Maslennikova, Associate Professor of the Department Tatiana Skorobogataya, senior lecturer of the Department Olga Metezh.

The seminar was attended by representatives of the Department of German and French Philology of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, represented by the head of the department Maria Sokolova, Professor of the Department Elena Bodnaruk, Associate Professor of the Department Elena Kostenevich, associate Professor of the Department Natalia Smirnova.

Within the framework of the cooperation plan, specific activities and deadlines for their implementation were discussed. The departments will conduct an international online school "Introduction of innovative technologies in teaching a foreign language" for students of the Philological faculty of the specialty "Romano-Germanic Philology" with the issuance of certificates in March 2024.

The topics and dates of the visit to the Department of Romano-Germanic Philology of the visiting Professor, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of German and French Philology of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov Elena Bodnaruk were determined.

Within the framework of the cooperation program on the topic "German in the scientific and educational space" in October 2023, the departments will prepare joint online events with students of both universities, as well as schoolchildren of the branch of the Department of Romano-Germanic Philology of the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 28 named after V.D. Sokolovsky, Grodno" and students of secondary schools of the city of Arkhangelsk, German language learners. In April 2024, it is planned to hold an International competition of pedagogical skills for students and practicing teachers of foreign languages "With a digit to language proficiency!"

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno signed an agreement with Chongqing Polytechnic University

The signing of the international cooperation agreement took place within the framework of the working visit of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Leonti Pavlov to the People's Republic of China.

The document implies long-term cooperation between the parties in the field of educational and scientific activities, as well as in the use of best practices, the introduction of scientific developments in the educational process and the establishment of academic, scientific and cultural ties, the development of scientific potential and ensuring high-quality professional training of specialists.

Within the framework of the agreement, it is planned to exchange scientific experience and scientific information on the issues of research and educational work of the parties, exchange of experience in organizing the educational process. The plans include joint scientific research, implementation of programs and projects.

The parties are also interested in scientific internships, advanced training of the teaching staff in areas of mutual interest, exchange of students, undergraduates, postgraduates.

The parties agreed to create working groups for conducting scientific research, joint scientific events, to involve scientific, practical, research organizations and other enterprises and institutions, as well as individual scientists, specialists and practitioners to implement common scientific programs and projects.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno residents took part in the celebration of the Independence Day of Brazil

The event dedicated to the celebration of the 201st anniversary of Brazil's Independence took place on September 7 in Minsk. At the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Republic of Belarus Bernard Georg Leopold de Garcia Klingle, the staff and students of Kupala University took part in the celebration.

On behalf of the rector and the entire staff of the University, the head of the Center for Internationalization of Education, Elena Belokoz, gave His Excellency a memorable gift and a congratulatory address in which Irina Fedorovna congratulated Mr. Ambassador on the main national holiday, wished prosperity to the friendly Brazilian people and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation between our countries in the educational space.

During the event, 12 2nd-year students of the specialty "Linguistic support of intercultural communications" of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism had the opportunity to continue their acquaintance with the Brazilian ambassador, which took place during his official visit to Grodno in June this year, and establish new contacts with invited ambassadors of other states.

The event was also attended by the head of the Cultural Center "Festival" Edgar Retz and Associate Professor of the Department of Translation and Intercultural Communication Nelly Ovchinnikova − heads of the practice on intercultural communication, within which the threads of friendship between the city of Grodno, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and the Brazilian representation in our country stretched.
