Student of the School of Exact Sciences of YKSUG became silver medalist at International Mathematics Olympiad

From April 9 to 15, the 15th European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) took place in Bordeaux, France. The competition brought together 161 young women from 67 countries, including four representatives of Belarus.

Over the course of two competition days, participants were required to solve six mathematical problems (three each day).

As a result of their participation, all members of the team of the Republic of Belarus were awarded medals. The silver medalist of the Olympiad was Yauhenia Maslenikava, a student of the "Olympiad Mathematics" course at the School of Exact Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Kupala University. Yauhenia is an 11th-grade student at Gymnasium No. 3 named after O.I. Solomova in Grodno.

We congratulate Yauhenia Maslenikava and wish her continued success!

For reference: The European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad has been held since 2012 with the aim of supporting talented female mathematicians, encouraging their participation in national and international competitions, and motivating them to pursue scientific research. Its format is similar to the International Mathematical Olympiad, which took place in Cambridge.

The team of the Republic of Belarus has been an annual participant in the Olympiad since 2013. In 2015, the 4th European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad was held in Belarus.
