Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno students are invited to take part in the competition "Immersive tours, excursions, EVENT events"

The international competition is dedicated to the development and popularization of the tourist potential of the territories, the use of modern technologies in the tourism industry.

The purpose of the competition is to support initiatives, realize creative opportunities and reveal the tourist and excursion potential of the territories.

The competition is held on the basis of the Department "Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant business" of the Omsk State Technical University.

Participation in the competition is possible in the following nominations:

– "Welcome to our region for impressions!" – projects of immersion tours, excursions, event events;

– "Ethno-cultural traditions as an object of tourist interest";

– "Local stories, local heroes, myths, traditions";

– "Collection of tourist emotions!" – photo contest;

– "Tourist quests";

– tours and excursions with virtual and/or augmented reality technologies;

– "Tourist-creator" – activities to involve tourists and tourists in the formation and preservation of the cultural environment of the local space;

– "Palette of tastes" – gastronomic tours, excursions, master classes, etc.;

– "Master of immersion technologies" – the practice of using immersion technologies by guides, tour operators, suppliers of tourist services, accommodation, catering, etc.

The form of participation is correspondence. The materials sent by the authors to the contest are not returned back. You can find information about participation in the competition in the REGULATIONS.

A video conference with Urgench State University was held at the Technopark of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

 On May 12, an online meeting with colleagues from Uzbekistan took place on the basis of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Scientific and Technological Park, during which the products of RUE UNPC "Technolab" were presented.

The conference was attended by physics teachers of Urgench State University, school principals and representatives of the Ministry of Education of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the director of the Science and Technology Park, Alexander Vasilevich, spoke about laboratory developments and complexes with the help of which demonstration experiments in physics are carried out in schools and higher educational institutions.

Within the framework of cooperation with Urgench State University, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of  Laser Physics and Spectroscopy of  Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Nikolay Matetsky prepared a presentation on the practical use of equipment in the educational process.

Vice-Rector for Research Andrey Pranevich mentioned the importance of multilateral cooperation in the field of education in this direction. 

A delegation of St. Petersburg University visited Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

 

Foreign colleagues visited Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in order to get acquainted with the university and establish partnership in various areas

The delegation of St. Petersburg University included Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation and Information Security Vladimir Starostenko, Head of the Digital Transformation Project Office, Director of the Center of E-Learning Development Anastasiia Kovalchuk and Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Director of the Center for the Study of Information Security and Digital Transformation Professor Vladislav Arkhipov.

The delegation met with Iryna Kiturka, Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, in an informal setting. The parties discussed possible vectors of cooperation and shared their experience in the field of digital education. Representatives of the foreign delegation expressed hope that Iryna Kiturka would visit St. Petersburg University during the celebration of its 300th anniversary.

The official part of the visit began with a welcoming speech of the First Vice-Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Aliaksandr Kareusky. Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Leontij Pavlov, Vice-Rector for Security and Human Resources Alexey Bezzubik, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics Alena Livak, Dean of the Physico-Technical Faculty Henadzi Hachko also took part in the meeting. The head of the educational and methodological department Marina Kolotsey has presented a detailed overview of our university’s educational opportunities.

In turn, foreign colleagues introduced the Belarusian side to the educational opportunities of
St. Petersburg University. Implementation of online courses and programs with the possibility of their placement on international online platforms and joint research activities in the field of digital transformation and information security were discussed.

By the way, Kupala University has a long history of cooperation with St. Petersburg University, which traces back to 2010, when the Agreement between our university and the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Control Processes of St. Petersburg State University was signed.

A new round in partnership took place on March 2, 2023, when the Agreement of International Cooperation between the two universities was solemnly signed during the XV Congress of the Eurasian Association of Universities.

St. Petersburg State University actively participates in the "Visiting Professor" program and scientific conferences, accepts YKSUG’s representatives for internships. In February 2023, the women's volleyball team of St. Petersburg University took part in the IX International Volleyball Tournament among women's teams for the Yanka Kupala Rector's Cup.

On March 24, the VI open festival "Novruz Bayram" was held at Kupala University

"Novruz" is the name of the vernal equinox day, which the inhabitants of Central Asia celebrate on March 21.

To hold the festival "Novruz Bayram" in the walls of Kupala University is a long and good tradition that annually unites students from different countries. The holiday traditionally gathers a large number of participants, and this is not surprising: students of various nationalities who have decided to get an education in Belarus study, make friends, develop and strengthen their cultural traditions under the hospitable roof of the university.

An Agreement of Cooperation with Mamun University was signed in Minsk

The subject of the Agreement is cooperation between the Parties in the field of science and education, as well as in the use of best practices and introduction of scientific research results into the teaching process, establishment of academic, scientific and cultural relations, development of scientific potential and provision of high quality professional training of specialists.

This agreement provides for exchange of research experience and scientific information concerning research and academic activities, exchange of experience in organization of educational process.

Organization of joint scientific research, implementation of joint research and development projects and programs is planned. Implementation of research traineeships, teaching staff qualification upgrade in the areas of mutual interest is also envisaged.

A delegation of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took part in the XV Congress of the Euroasian Universities Association

The congress was attended by rectors and vice-rectors of the member universities from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and other countries. Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Iryna Kiturka and Director of the Scientific Library Mikalai Hrynko took part in the event. 

An essential part of the program was the discussion of a general agenda in the field of science and education with the administration of other interuniversity associations in the Eurasian space as well as the representatives of the academic communities of Vietnam, India, Jordan, Iran, China, Mongolia, Oman, Serbia, Syria, Montenegro and other countries.

During the Congress, development trends of the Association in the modern world, steps and actions aiming at the expanding and deepening of ties between universities in the Eurasian space were determined. 26 new universities decided to join the Association. Iryna Kiturka was actively engaged in the work of the congress, established contacts with the participants and discussed prospective areas of cooperation.

On March 2, Cooperation Agreements with St Petersburg University, P.G. Demidov Yaroslavl State University, Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov were signed. Joint work in various areas will allow parties to mutually enrich scientific and educational experience.

Iryna Kiturka and Mikalai Hrynko visited the Center of Belarusian language, literature and culture of the Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University. The Rector presented scientific literature and fiction in Belarusian language to the Center. The delegation of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno held talks with the administration of MSU`s Faculty of Philology, during which promising areas of cooperation and the involvement of foreign citizens in joint events were discussed. Furthermore, Mikalai Hrynko, coordinator of the Center of Belarusian language, literature and culture conducted workshops in Belarusian language, along with lectures in the history of Belarusian literature for the students of the Centers` Belarusian language courses.

The teacher of the Yanka Kupala State University presented a monograph at the “Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk”

In the "Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk" in the Marc Chagall Art Center, a lecture and presentation of the monograph "Transformation of the traditional lifestyle of Jewish women in Belarusian lands in the conditions of modernization (the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries)" by Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Candidate of Historical Sciences Yulia Ermak took place.

Yulia Ermak spoke about the peculiarities of the life of Jewish women in the Belarusian lands during this historical period. She pointed out what changes have taken place in the traditional way of life of Jewish society under the influence of modernization processes. She explained how socio-economic, political, moral and ethical factors influenced the position of women in society. The speaker's speech found a lively response from the audience.

Yulia Ermak introduced Irina Voronova, Director of the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk, to the list of scientific events planned for implementation in 2023 at the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism. Plans for further cooperation in the field of culture and historical science were outlined.

Yanka Kupala State University students won medals at the Republican Universiade in Indoor Athletics

In the overall standings, the team of Kupala University took fifth place. In total, students from 31 institutions of higher education in Belarus participated in the competition.

The Republican Universiade in Athletics was held in Gomel. The winners were determined in the all-around and relay, long jump and triple jump, 400 and 3000 meters running. There are three first, three second and three third places in the medal piggy bank of the Kupala individual standings. Charlotte Paeglite, a student of Yanka Kupala State University, received a special prize from the Belarusian Association of Student Sports. The girl won the pentathlon.

Online conference between higher education institutions of Grodno region and Gansu province

Grodno region and Gansu province cooperate within various fields, including education and this event let the participants further develop friendly ties. 

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Grodno State Medical University and Grodno State Agrarian University participated in the conference. Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics, Hexi University, Gansu University of Chinese Medicine, Gansu Agricultural University took part from the Chinese side.

The meeting was also attended by Zhang Xiaodong, a member of the party committee of the Department of Education of Gansu Province, Ruslan Abramchik, head of the Main Department of Education of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, Roman Sokol, Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the People’s Republic of China.

Within the framework of the conference, Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Iryna Kiturka presented the educational potential of the university and told about its advantages and achievements.

By the way, Chinese universities are significant strategic partners for our university. Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno implements an active international policy within the framework of around 200 agreements with foreign institutions and organizations from 30 countries, including 9 organizations of the People's Republic of China, cooperation with which was established back in 2001, when the first agreement of international cooperation with the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law was signed. For that purpose, the university implements a strategy for the development of cooperation with China in the field of education, which is an integral part of the overall strategy of our university – advanced development strategy.

In September 2017, during the visit of a delegation from Gansu province to Grodno, an agreement on the support of the organization of training within the project «Russian Language School» between the Office of External Relations under the Government of Gansu province of PRC and the Committee of Economics of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee was signed.

In October 2017 and May 2018, representatives of Gansu Province have been learning Russian at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. In the 2017/2018 academic year, the staff of the Office of External Relations under the Government of Gansu province attended Russian language courses at the Faculty of Philology under the educational program of the first stage of higher education «Russian Philology» and at the same time received a Master's degree in International Economics. On August 3, 2018, during the visit of the delegation of Gansu Province, our university hosted the ceremonial opening of the Center for Training of Gansu Province Personnel.

Agreement of International Cooperation with the University of Vavuniya was signed at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

The Agreement was signed during the online meeting on the 20th of December.

A delegation of the Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Belarus headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage and a delegation of the University of Vavuniya headed by the Rector, Dr. Thampoe Mangaleswaran participated in the online meeting. The delegation of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was headed by the Rector, Iruna Kiturka.

The meeting was productive, since both sides are interested in mutual cooperation development. The Agreement will facilitate scientific, academic and professional cooperation between partner universities and open new horizons for both parties within the framework of universities' activities. 

By the way, it is not the first meeting with the University of Vavuniya, on the 10th of July 2022 with the support of the Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Belarus a meeting with the administration of the University of Vavuniya was held. During this meeting, Sri Lankan side expressed interest in the development of academic mobility of staff and students and organization of scientific research in the following fields: biology, math, philology, tourism, economy, international law.

The University of Vavuniya is opening new faculties and specialties, and therefore the design and implementation of joint educational programs in English and Russian languages could become a promising area of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Soon a program of cooperation to the current agreement will be developed.
