Admission of foreign citizens

INVITATION TO STUDY
The deadline for accepting documents from foreign citizens and stateless persons temporarily staying or temporarily residing in the Republic of Belarus, based on the results of the interview, is set for October 15, 2026 in accordance with RESOLUTION No. 32 of the MINISTRY OF EDUCATION of the REPUBLIC OF BELARUS dated February 12, 2026 "On the timing of the admission campaign for higher Education in 2026"

APPLYING FOR TRAINING

Foreign citizens wishing to study at Yanka Kupala Grodno State University must register in the electronic service "Digital Аccount of a foreign applicant of the GrSU named after Yanka Kupala".

DIGITAL АCCOUNT OF A FOREIGN APPLICANT

A foreign citizen fills in the information in the Digital Account of a foreign applicant and attaches scanned copies or photocopies of the documents required for issuing an invitation and admission to study at an educational Institution:

  • a copy of passport or other identity document;
  • a copy of the document on education indicating the subjects studied and the grades (scores) obtained in the examinations;
  • a copy of the birth certificate (if you are under the age of 18 at the time of submitting the documents);
  • HIV- free certificate.

Each document in a foreign language must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Belarusian or Russian. Documents can be notarized either in the country of citizenship or upon arrival in Belarus. Except for notarization of the identity document, which must be done on the territory of Belarus.

INVITATION TO STUDY

Foreign citizens wishing to study at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno need to obtain an invitation, which will allow them to open a visa to study at a consular office of the Republic of Belarus.

To receive an official invitation, a foreign citizen must attach the following documents to the foreign applicant's Digital Account:

  • a copy of passport or other identity document;
  • a copy of the document on education indicating the subjects studied and the grades (scores) obtained in the examinations;
  • a copy of the birth certificate (if you are under the age of 18 at the time of submitting the documents);
  • HIV- free certificate.

Each document in a foreign language must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Belarusian or Russian. Documents can be notarized either in the country of citizenship or upon arrival in Belarus. Except for notarization of the identity document, which must be done on the territory of Belarus.

After receiving the documents of the candidate for training, the university carries out their examination and makes a decision on the possibility of issuing an invitation to study.

The University sends a scan copy of the invitation to study to the candidate for training. The Department of citizenship and migration sends notification of the approval of the invitation to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the candidate's country of residence.

The candidate for training applies for a study visa at the consular office of the Republic of Belarus at the place of his/her residence or upon arrival at the airport of Minsk.

In accordance with the requirements of the border control authorities of the Republic of Belarus, as well as the General Consular Department, citizens obtaining a visa at the consular section of Minsk National Airport must notify the university 15 days prior to arrival of the date of arrival and itinerary. A visa will be issued at the airport ONLY in the presence of all necessary documents and in the presence of an official representative of the university.

SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS

Foreign citizens wishing to study at Yanka Kupala Grodno State University must register in an electronic queue to submit their documents in person.

Inform the Department of Recruitment and Registration of Foreign Citizens about the date of arrival in the Republic of Belarus no later than 3 days before arrival (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.);

On the day of crossing the border of the Republic of Belarus or on the day following it, you should apply to Recruiting and registration of international citizens department, which is located at Lenina Street, 32-2, Grodno.

In addition to the documents previously attached in the Digital Account, you must have the following original documents:

  • Passport or other identification document.
  • Document on education indicating the subjects studied and the grades (scores) received in the examinations.
  • Certificate of recognition of the document on education and establishing its equivalence (conformity) to the document on education of the Republic of Belarus (in the absence of an agreement on mutual recognition of documents on education) - for applicants for bachelor's, master's and postgraduate studies.
  • Birth certificate (if you are under the age of 18 at the time of submitting the documents).
  • Medical report on the state of health issued by a health care institution of the Republic of Belarus.
  • HIV- free certificate.
  • Medical insurance policy (countries for which insurance is optional - Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and others).
  • 6 photographs (3X4 cm).

Each document in a foreign language must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Belarusian or Russian. Additionally, enrolment in the university requires:

  • To undergo a compulsory medical examination in a health care institution of Republic of Belarus. The obtained medical report on the state of health must be submitted to the university for admission;
  • To pass an interview in the language of instruction (Russian/English);
  • To pass an additional interview on the subject - in case of admission to the magistracy; on the discipline "Art" or "Physical Education and Sports" - in case of admission to the corresponding specialties;
  • To draw up a contract for training;
  • Pay the tuition fee at the university (payment is made within 45 working days after the conclusion of the training contract) for 1 semester or academic year.

Additional compulsory expenses:

  • Compulsory medical insurance for one year - 170 USD.
  • Registration in the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Belarus at the place of stay and place of residence for one year - 60 USD.
  • Medical commission - 70 USD.
  • Daily food expenses - 10 USD.
  • Public transport fare from 0.25 USD for 1 trip.
  • Taxi.
