International Conference on Current Issues of Financial Law held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

Today, April 16, the International Scientific Conference for Students, Master's Students, and Postgraduates "Current Issues of Financial Law" is taking place at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The conference brings together young legal scholars from Belarus and Russia.

The conference has united students, master's students, and postgraduates from Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Voronezh State University, Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Dostoevsky Omsk State University, Saratov State Law Academy, and South-West State University.

Before the presentations began, Anton Glazev, Head of the Research office at YKSUG, delivered a welcoming speech. He emphasized the significance of the event.

– It is very symbolic that this is already the nineteenth conference. This demonstrates that engaging gifted and talented students in research activities has become a tradition at the Department of International Law, – noted Anton Glazev.

Anton Glazev also stressed that participating in the conference is an excellent opportunity not only to present one's findings but also to receive constructive feedback and adjust the direction of one's research. In conclusion, he wished the attendees productive work, interesting presentations, substantive questions, and lively discussions.

The conference will discuss a wide range of topics, from tax law and financial activities to the digitalization of the tax sector and finance-related crimes.

Professors of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno continue to share experience with students from China within the framework of a Joint Educational Program

Professors of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology continue to implement the experimental joint educational program "4+0" in the specialty "Biology". Currently, classes for students of Qilu Normal University are being conducted by Aleksandra Ryzhaya and Alexei Savko.

Aleksandra Ryzhaya, Associate Professor of the Department of System Biology, is conducting classes for Chinese students in the discipline "Methods of Zoological Research". Alexei Savko, lecturer at the Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology, is delivering lectures and laboratory classes in Organic Chemistry.

This experimental educational program contributes to the active development of cooperation between the universities and the exchange of experience.

Vice-Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Liavontsi Paulau participates in Belarusian Delegation's visit to China

From April 13 to 16, the Belarusian delegation is on a business visit to the People's Republic of China. The delegation includes Liavontsi Paulau, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

As part of the visit, a working meeting has already taken place between Andrey Boltrik, Deputy Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, and Wang Bin, Deputy Governor of Gansu Province, as well as a visit to the Lanzhou Institute of Business and Technology.

Today, April 15, a roundtable was held with the participation of business circles from Gansu Province, during which information about the investment potential of the Republic of Belarus was presented. Following the welcoming speeches, representatives of Belarus delivered presentations on the investment opportunities of the Grodno Region, aimed at attracting investment. Among the speakers was Liavontsi Paulau. In the second part of the meeting, the parties held B2B negotiations, in which the Vice-Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno also took part.

Holding such negotiations is an important step in strengthening ties not only between the Grodno Region and Gansu Province in general, but also between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and its educational partners in particular.

Student of the School of Exact Sciences of YKSUG became silver medalist at International Mathematics Olympiad

From April 9 to 15, the 15th European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) took place in Bordeaux, France. The competition brought together 161 young women from 67 countries, including four representatives of Belarus.

Over the course of two competition days, participants were required to solve six mathematical problems (three each day).

As a result of their participation, all members of the team of the Republic of Belarus were awarded medals. The silver medalist of the Olympiad was Yauhenia Maslenikava, a student of the "Olympiad Mathematics" course at the School of Exact Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Kupala University. Yauhenia is an 11th-grade student at Gymnasium No. 3 named after O.I. Solomova in Grodno.

For reference: The European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad has been held since 2012 with the aim of supporting talented female mathematicians, encouraging their participation in national and international competitions, and motivating them to pursue scientific research. Its format is similar to the International Mathematical Olympiad, which took place in Cambridge.

The team of the Republic of Belarus has been an annual participant in the Olympiad since 2013. In 2015, the 4th European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad was held in Belarus.

StartBiz Spring: International Spring School of the Faculty of Economics and Management launches at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in partnership with Irkutsk State University

Today, April 15, the International Spring School StartBiz Spring "Economic and Legal Aspects of Small Business Operations" kicked off at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. Participants include representatives from Irkutsk State University, for whom Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno has organized practice-oriented training.

The opening ceremony featured a welcoming speech by Vice-Rector Viachaslau Ramanenka.

"We are delighted to welcome within our walls representatives from Irkutsk State University, as well as from colleges and gymnasiums, who have come to us for the International Spring School StartBiz Spring 'Economic and Legal Aspects of Small Business Operations' organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. It is gratifying that we have the opportunity to meet in person, communicate, share opinions and experience, looking each other in the eye," noted Viachaslau Ramanenka.

Participants were also addressed by Aleg Arkhipkin, Director of the International Institute of Economics and Linguistics, Professor, Head of the Department of Economics and Trade Policy, and Associate Professor (HAC) at Irkutsk State University.

"I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Iryna Kiturka, for the opportunity to be personally present in the city of Grodno, at such a wonderful university," emphasized Oleg Arkhipkin. The program of the International Spring School StartBiz Spring "Economic and Legal Aspects of Small Business Operations" is rich and varied.

Today, April 15, guests from the Russian Federation will attend lectures on "Economic Education in Higher Education Institutions as a Foundation for Business Development" and "The Role of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses in the Socio-Economic Development of Regions," as well as a training session titled "Launching Production: The Journey of a Belarusian Startup."

Tomorrow, April 16, representatives from Irkutsk State University will participate in a lecture on "Legal Foundations of Organization and Organizational-Legal Forms of Small Business Entities" and a training session on "Developing a Startup Business Model."

On April 17, a practical session on "Modern Approaches to Studying Consumer Behavior" is scheduled. Additionally, participants of the International Spring School will attend the ceremonial opening and plenary session of the 20th International Scientific Conference for Students, Master's Students, and Postgraduates organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management – "Economics and Management of the 21st Century: From a Linear Model to a Circular One." There will also be a lecture on "Strategic Foundations of Marketing Management for Small Business Entities" and a training session on "Digital Marketing: From SMM to Sales."

On Saturday, April 18, two lectures will take place: "Financial Mechanisms of Operation and Aspects of Small Business Activity Planning" and "Institutional Tools of State Support for Innovative Small Business," along with a practical session on "Financial Analysis for Small Business."

Finally, on Monday, April 20, a training session on "Production Secrets: Inside Success (Belarusian Brands)" will be held, followed by a roundtable where the results of the International Spring School StartBiz Spring will be summarized and certificates will be awarded to participants. The event will conclude with a tour of the Grodno Regional Puppet Theater.

Students of YKSUG become winners of the National Youth Media Award "Media Generation 2026"

A creative team of students from the Department of Journalism won the First Degree Diploma at the student youth media competition "Media Generation 2026". The event took place within the framework of the 15th International Youth Media Forum "MediaStart".

Over the years of its existence, the "MediaStart" forum has grown into the largest platform that annually brings together young publishers and experienced media professionals. The "Media Generation 2026" competition, held as part of the forum, aims to draw attention to the development of university media projects, support creative initiatives, and identify the best student works.

The team included Angelika Stefanovich, a 4th-year student of the "Journalism" program; Daria Bakshuk, a 3rd-year student of the "Journalism" program; Sofia Ovsyanik, a 3rd-year student of the "Information and Communication" program; and Anastasia Stolyarchuk, a 2nd-year student of the "Information and Communication" program.

The students created two issues of the youth magazine "RE:POST", which sends readers on an engaging journey through an endless labyrinth of meanings on every page.

"We created 'RE:POST' to notice something new in ordinary things, to reveal the essence of incomprehensible phenomena, to surprise with unexpected twists, and to reintroduce you to the past through the lens of contemporary trends," shares Angelika Stefanovich.

The project's design deserves special attention.

"We aimed to create a truly youthful design: we broke layout rules, created original illustrations, and added vibrant accents. It was a real experiment and a challenge to conventional patterns," notes Daria Bakshuk.

Team of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno wins long distance at "Neman Spring" competition

From April 10 to 12, the international competition in tourist-applied all-around with elements of water tourism took place in the village of Nemnovo. More than 120 participants from four countries took part in the event. "Neman Spring" competition was held for the 51st time. This year, it brought together representatives of Belarus, Russia, the People's Republic of China, and Turkmenistan.

The competition was organized by the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Belarus and the public association "Republican Tourism and Sports Union". Direct conduct of the event was carried out by the Grodno Regional Branch of the public association "Republican Tourism and Sports Union".

YKSUG was represented by three teams: "Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno", "Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno – Turkmenistan", and "Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno – China". The competition traditionally takes place on the Ostashanka River with two distances: the third and fifth difficulty classes. Ten teams entered the third (easy) difficulty class, while eight teams competed in the fifth (professional) class. The short distance, not exceeding 300 meters – "Slalom" – focuses on precise route navigation. Participants must demonstrate their skills in maneuvering tourist vessels while navigating natural and artificial obstacles. The second distance of 9.5 kilometers – "Rally" – includes elements of rescue operations, overcoming natural obstacles, and orientation on the water.

According to the competition results, the team "Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno" became the winner of the long distance.

Translation activities in the modern world discussed at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

On April 9, a joint roundtable entitled "Translation: Traditions and Innovations" was held online at the Faculty of Philology of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The discussion was attended by students and faculty members of Kazan Innovative University named after V.G.Timiryasov.

The main topic of the meeting was issues of translation studies. Participants discussed the most pressing themes, ranging from linguocultural adaptation and the rendering of literary images to the translation of religious and specialized terminology.

During the roundtable, participants presented reports on various aspects of translation. The discussion of current trends in translation practice and the development of professional competencies generated particular interest.

The event, organized within the framework of cooperation between the two universities, took the form of an open dialogue. Participants not only acquainted their colleagues with their scholarly research but also actively engaged in discussing it.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosts conference on Modern education

On April 9, the Faculty of Pedagogy of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno became a center of lively discussion. It hosted the 23rd International Scientific Conference of Students, Master's Students, and Postgraduates "Eureka – 2026". The event brought together over 200 young researchers from Belarus, Russia, China, and Turkmenistan.

The conference was organized into seven sections: "Childhood in the Context of Pedagogical and Psychological Research", "Current Issues in Pedagogy and Social Work", "Organisation of Correctional and Pedagogical Work with Children with Psychophysical Development Disabilities", "Current Issues in Language and Literary Reading Instruction in Educational Institutions", "Teaching Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Educational Institutions", "Management in Education", and "Current Issues in Modern Socio-Humanitarian Knowledge".

In their scientific presentations, participants addressed a wide range of pressing issues, including tools for enhancing teachers' digital competence, algorithms for designing non-standard lessons, the application of the case method in teaching primary schoolchildren, and strategies for developing cognitive interest in primary school students. The conference also touched upon modern approaches to learning, such as the development of ideas about existential states of the individual in ancient Chinese philosophy and their relevance today. Presentations were delivered both in person and online in Russian, Belarusian, and English.

The 23rd International Scientific Conference of Students, Master's Students, and Postgraduates "Eureka – 2026" took place in the format of a lively dialogue. Participants from different countries actively shared their research findings, exchanged experiences and opinions, and established scientific contacts.
