Delegation of YKSUG participates in the meeting of the Subcommittee on Cooperation in the Field of Education in China

The delegation of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, headed by Rector Iryna Kiturka, is taking part in the eighth meeting of the Subcommission for Cooperation in Education of the China-Belarus Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.

The meeting is taking place today, on May 12, in Urumqi (China). The event is attended by Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets, as well as heads of the leading educational institutions of the country, including Yanka Kupala State University, represented by Rector Iryna Kiturka and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Liavontsi Paulau.

The meeting discusses cooperation between Belarus and China in higher, vocational and digital education, as well as the teaching of the Belarusian and Chinese languages.

A number of events and negotiations are planned as part of the Belarusian delegation's visit to China.

Kupalovtsy as part of the Belarusian national team won silver in the World Beach Soccer Championship

The graduates of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, who played in the national team of our country, performed at the international arena under the leadership of Nicolas Alvarado. The Belarusian team defeated the national team of Senegal at the ½ final stage. The international tournament was held in the Seychelles.

Yesterday, on May 11, the team of the Republic of Belarus played with the reigning champions - the team of Brazil. With a score of 3:4, the Belarusians made it to the final and confidently took silver. Graduates of YKSUG - Nikita Chaikovsky and Oleg Gapon showed their skills in accurate kicks and decisive interceptions during the game.

It should be noted that Oleg Gapon, a graduate of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism, played 247 games and scored 244 goals. Nikita Chaikovsky, a graduate of the Faculty of Law, played 242 games and scored 71 goals. Let us remind you that in 2024 the national beach football team of the Republic of Belarus reached only the semi-finals in the UAE.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosts a visit by representatives of the Law Enforcement Academy (The Republic of Uzbekistan)

From April 22 to April 25, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosts a visit by representatives of the Law Enforcement Academy from the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Irina Kiturko, Rector of the Yanka Kupala State University, invited the guests to get acquainted with the university through a presentation and discuss important issues related to international cooperation. The Law Enforcement Academy was presented by Durbek Turakhonov, Deputy Head of the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Foreign partners are interested in a wide range of cooperation, including academic mobility, educational projects and scientific interaction. The meeting resulted in the signing of a cooperation agreement between the parties.

The program of the visit includes acquaintance with the Faculty of Law, a tour of the university and a visit to the Centre for Patriotic Education, participation in the opening of the Interuniversity Olympiad in Law.

The discussion on the prospects of cooperation at the Faculty of Law is planned. There will be meetings at the Department of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, as well as participation in an international scientific and practical conference of students, undergraduates and postgraduates.

This visit is an important step in the development of international cooperation and exchange of experience between universities.

Immersion in history: international students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno visited iconic places in Minsk

The 1st and 2nd year students majoring in History and Language Support of Intercultural Communication from the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism of Yanka Kupala State University took part in an exciting excursion trip to Minsk, the capital of Belarus. This event was organized by the faculty for students who actively participate in university and faculty events, and was an excellent opportunity to broaden their horizons and get acquainted with the cultural heritage of the Republic of Belarus.

The tour was led by Svetlana Khudarganova, Coordinator for Internationalization, and Roman Grigorchuk the Lecturer at the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The students visited the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, where they were able to gain a deeper understanding of the historical events that influenced the formation of modern Belarus. The museum's exposition includes not only artifacts, but also multimedia installations that create a complete immersion in the atmosphere of those days.

The next item on the program was the National Library of the Republic of Belarus, one of the most modern and significant architectural structures in the country. The students got acquainted with the rich book collection and innovative technologies used in librarianship. The unique shape of the building and its interior made an indelible impression on the students.

In addition, a walking tour of interesting places in Minsk was organized as part of the tour. The participants were able to walk through the beautiful streets of the capital, admire the architecture, as well as visit iconic monuments and parks. This event was an important step in the formation of an active civic position among students.

Professor of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno gave a lecture for international students

Igor Martynenko, Head of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure, Doctor of Law, Professor, gave a guest lecture for students of the Institute of Justice of the Saratov State Law Academy (SSLA).

A lecture on "Current aspects of qualified legal assistance in civil matters: Russian and Belarusian experience" was held as part of the round table (with international participation) "Realization of the right to judicial protection and the right to qualified legal assistance in civil process ". The event was organized jointly by the Department of Arbitration, Advocacy and Notariate of the SSLA and the Department of Civil Law and Procedure of Yanka Kupala State University.

The event was also attended by lawyers from the Grodno Regional Bar Association and the Saratov Region Bar Association.

An interesting presentation was made by the lecturer of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure, lawyer Vlada Cherepitsa-Dubikovskaya, who told the participants of the discussion about the specifics of the representation of lawyers in civil cases, after which a lively discussion took place between scientists and practitioners from Grodno and Saratov. 

The Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted the Ciceronius – 2025 public speaking competition!

The ability to express your thoughts skilfully and convincingly is an art that can have a significant impact on the audience. Mastery of public speaking is a key element in both personal and professional spheres, allowing you to establish communication links and broadcast your ideas effectively.

As part of the competition, the participants went through two stages aimed at evaluating their creative abilities and public speaking skills.

At the first stage, at the Self-Presentation contest, participants were provided with an opportunity to introduce themselves, their hobbies and life goals, as well as share their personal mottos. This stage allowed to identify the uniqueness of each participant and their ability to self-present.

The second stage, a speech on the theme "Belarus in my heart", required the participants to comprehend the cultural and historical heritage of the country deeply. This task contributed to the formation of the student’s sense of national identity and patriotism.

A separate task was provided for international students, aimed at presenting their homeland, traditions and customs. This stage allowed the participants to demonstrate their intercultural competence and the ability for interethnic dialogue.

Yanka Kupala State University hosted a meeting with partners from China

As part of the active international activities of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, a meeting was held with a delegation from the municipal Government of Suining and representatives of the Sichuan Vocational and Technical College from China. Yanka Kupala State University cooperates fruitfully with Chinese educational institutions and pursues an active international policy.

During the visit the delegation got acquainted with the Faculty of Engineering and with Physics and Technology Faculty. The guests also visited the scientific and technological park of RUE "UNPC "Technolab"" and met with the university administration. Agreements on the establishment of the Centre for the Russian Language and Belarusian Culture by Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Sichuan Vocational and Technical College were signed at the meeting.

The guests were also given a sightseeing tour of the university, which allowed them to immerse in the university atmosphere. Yanka Kupala State University expresses its gratitude to the Chinese partners for their interest in cooperation and hopes for a long-term and fruitful partnership in the field of education and scientific research.

 

A representative of Yanka Kupala State University presented YKSUG in Uzbekistan

As part of the Belarusian delegation's visit to Samarkand on April 10, 2025, Alesya Belko, Head of the Department of International Projects and Academic Mobility, took part in an event dedicated to the development of cooperation between universities and the promotion of educational institutions in Uzbekistan.

Meetings were held with the representatives of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service, Samarkand State University, and a branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technology. These negotiations led to the conclusion of important agreements, as well as determined further steps in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

In addition, Alesya Belko took part in the exhibition "World Edu 2025", where the educational and scientific potential of Yanka Kupala State University was presented. Such events not only help strengthen ties between universities in different countries, but also promote educational and scientific initiatives, making the university more visible and attractive to the international community.
