Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted an online working meeting with St. Petersburg State University

 

The parties gathered to discuss the vectors of further cooperation and find new points of contact. Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Irina Kiturko noted that they are very interested in working together.

The participants of the meeting discussed the exchange of promising scientific projects in order to study their further practical use and the development of high-tech industries. In particular, they discussed the technology of obtaining effective multipurpose biosorbents of heavy metals and organic compounds from various waste products of microbiological industries, the development of composite materials based on polytetrafluoroethylene for sealing and tribotechnical systems of increased resource, as well as directed modification by microorganisms of the surface of chemical fibers for the needs of the chemical industry and other promising research.

Within the framework of the activities of the Scientific and Technological Park of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, it was proposed to discuss the issue of organizing joint productions in various areas.

The first interaction between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and St. Petersburg State University took place in 2010, when the agreement between our university and the Faculty of Applied Mathematics-Management Processes of St. Petersburg State University began.

A new round in cooperation took place on March 2, 2023, as part of the participation of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno  in the XV Congress of the Eurasian Association of Universities. At that time, a cooperation agreement was signed with St. Petersburg State University, and negotiations were held with Sergey Mikushev, Vice-Rector for Research at St. Petersburg State University.

St. Petersburg State University actively participates in the "Visiting Professor" program, accepts GrSU representatives for internships, university representatives participate in conferences of partner universities.

In February 2023, the women's volleyball team of St. Petersburg State University took part in the IX volleyball tournament for the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Rector's Cup.

A program of international cooperation has been developed between the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism and the Institute "Higher School of Journalism and Mass Communications" of St. Petersburg State University for 2023-2024 with the aim of interaction in the field of journalism, philology (media linguistics, linguopragmatics, linguoculturology), history, sociology. It is planned to hold an online meeting to discuss the prospects of cooperation within the framework of the Mendeleev scientific and educational cluster of St. Petersburg State University.

On April 17-18, 2023, a delegation of St. Petersburg State University visited Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno to discuss promising areas of cooperation. It consisted of Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation and Information Security Vladimir Starostenko, Head of the Digital Transformation Project Office, Director of the Center for the Development of Electronic Educational Resources Anastasia Kovalchuk and Professor, Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Director of the Center for the Study of Information Security and Digital Transformation Vladislav Arkhipov.
