Student at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is the only representative from Belarus took part in the Fashion Week in Rome - Roma Fashion Week

Omila Appuhami is a student of the Faculty of Arts and Design at Yanka Kupala University, as a result of participation in the fashion event, received an offer from an Italian photographer to take a photo session of the author's collection of clothes and accessories.

By the way, Omila was the only representative of Belarus and also the only unprofessional designer at the Fashion Week in Rome. On the stage of the Italian fashion capital in early April, more than 140 professional designers showed their works mainly from the USA, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Japan, England, Germany, Italy and other countries.

A wide audience and experts, including representatives of the leading fashion schools of the world, saw a fragment of the diploma project of the student of Yanka Kupala University called "Presentation of Asia" - these are seven looks (ensembles of models of clothes, shoes, accessories and hats). Participants of the Roma Fashion Week could appreciate not only the original costumes, but also the author's decor, stylish headdresses and bags. It should be noted that for the first time this collection Omila presented at the fashion festival "Grodno Fashion Show" in March.

- The collection is made in the trends "Spring - Summer 2017" and is inspired by ethnic motives and militaristic theme. The clothes of officers and soldiers of the Indian army inspired me to create looks, - said Omila. - When sewing the collection, I used mainly Indian and Italian fabrics. Here red, golden and dark colors predominate, as well as khaki.

Following the results of the Roman Fashion Forum, the young designer received a Certificate of Participation and a number of invitations to present his collection at Hungary Fashion Week in Hungary, Fashion Week in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai), India, Poland and Kazakhstan. In addition, as part of the Fashion Week in Rome, he attended lectures and seminars from leading designers, where they talked not only about fashion, but also about the fashion industry as a whole. In the process of participation in the festival he gained many contacts with European professional designers. Omila is confident that such connections in the future will help him realize himself.

– In the future I would like, like many young designers, to become more famous and popular. Create your own brand and open a modeling agency, start a teaching career, - shared Omila.

Among the nearest plans of the student is to successfully defend his diploma project at the university, where the young designer will present 10 completed looks. The head of the diploma project - Associate Professor in the Department of Design Olga Penkova is already helping him in this project.

- Omila's participation in such a loud professional fashion forum is a useful experience in approbation of the timeliness and relevance of projects of students in the specialty "Design (costumes and fabrics)", - noted Olga Anatolyevna.

In this his leader is also supported by Omila himself. The guy emphasizes that the University has many good and talented young designers who need support.

- Our Yanka Kupala designers live "within limits", from which they must go out, - explained Omila. - It is necessary to show your abilities and talents not only in Belarus, but also abroad. So you will be recognized, so you can become really popular and famous. After all, fashion is not only the creation of collections of clothing, accessories or shoes. Fashion is also contacts, communication; this is a world which has its own politics and economics
