Strengthening partnership relations of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno with the Republic of Zimbabwe
As part of the visit of the Belarusian delegation of the country's leading universities, the first meeting of the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Zimbabwe was held in Harare from February 19 to 22. The commission was attended by a delegation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, which included Anton Glazev, head of the research department of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
On February 19, Anton Glazev, as part of the delegation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, took part in the work of the Zimbabwean-Belarusian business Forum "Building a strong partnership: Using a shared vision of a sustainable future." During the events of the forum, negotiations were held and direct contacts were established with the leading institutions of higher education of the Republic of Zimbabwe – Lupane State University, the University of Zimbabwe, Chinhoyi University of Technology, Bindura Scientific and Pedagogical University and Midland State University.
Agreements have been reached with representatives of these universities on working out proposals for the development of joint work in the field of development and implementation of joint educational programs (at the level of various bachelor's and master's degrees), projects, various events (summer/winter schools, internships, academic mobility events, conferences for students and teachers), conducting joint scientific research and creating joint publications in order to form a scientific foundation for the subsequent preparation of applications for joint research works for participation in various international competitions.
As part of the participation in the work of the expert group, a draft section on the social cluster was prepared and agreed with the Zimbabwean side for inclusion in the final Minutes of the meeting of the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Zimbabwe.
For representatives of the delegation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, a visit to the infrastructure facilities of the University of Zimbabwe (Innovation Hub, Science Park – the Zimbabwean National Geospatial and Space Agency) was organized, during which representatives of the Belarusian delegation were able to familiarize themselves with the organization of educational and scientific activities at this university.
On February 22, the final Protocol of the meeting of the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Zimbabwe was reviewed and approved.
During the visit to the Republic of Zimbabwe, a cooperation agreement was also signed between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Bindura Scientific and Pedagogical University.
As part of the organization of career guidance events and promotion of the University's educational services in foreign markets, on February 21 and 22, a presentation of the educational, scientific and innovative potential of YKSUG was held for students of a number of institutions of secondary and secondary special education in Harare in order to form a pool of potential university applicants from among the citizens of the Republic of Zimbabwe.
Agreements have been reached on joint work with the executive directors of recruitment agencies (Satco Academic and Ruoth Education Services) to implement the admission of foreign citizens who have completed secondary education in the Republic of Zimbabwe to study at the university in the medium term.
On February 23, at a meeting with the leadership and representatives of the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovative Science and Technology Development of the Republic of Zimbabwe, negotiations were held and priority areas were developed for further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of education and science between universities and Ministries of Education of the two countries.

YKSUG residents took part in the solemn ceremony of sending off the Belarusian delegation to the World Youth Festival 2024, which took place early this morning at the train station in Minsk! Very soon, the guys will take part in a large-scale event, but in the meantime, the road to Sochi awaits them. We wish our participants good luck and an easy road!
Belarusian participants will take an active part in all the events of the festival with master classes, performances, and performances. The motto of the Belarusian delegation is "Belarus. Young people. The future."
– Our team will participate in the marathon "Knowledge. The first ones", the business game "Media professionals. Publish it. Communicate. Promote", the street art festival (this is a new form), the exhibition "The Most beautiful Country" and in all other locations that will be offered by the organizers. I am sure that the opportunities that have been created in our country for the disclosure and realization of youth potential will help the children to adequately represent Belarus at the festival venues," informed Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Kadlubai, who took part in the solemn ceremony.
In total, 20,000 young leaders from all over the world will gather at the festival. Our delegation consists of representatives of key youth organizations: the BRUY, the Belarusian Republican Pioneer Organization, the councils of young scientists of the National Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Education, a volunteer organization, our youth parliaments, the Council of Working Youth, a total of 630 people.
New prospects for cooperation are outlined: Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Syktyvkar Forest Institute strengthen international cooperation
Oleg Sozinov, Head of the Botany Department of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, delivered an open lecture within the framework of bilateral cooperation with the Syktyvkar Forest Institute. This is the first stage of joint work on the exchange of best practices, interesting knowledge and research results between universities.
Elena Raush, Deputy Director of the SLI for Economic Affairs, addressed the participants and listeners of the master class with a welcoming speech. She stressed that Syktyvkar Institute has always been interested in international experience and studied new technologies.
– Today we are starting a series of lectures by teachers of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Syktyvkar Forestry Institute. By the end of the academic year, about six more lectures will be held, three of which our teachers will read for Belarusian students and children from the Forestry Institute. We give our students and staff the opportunity to broaden their horizons, to learn what is happening in other regions of the world and how. As life shows, the most important discoveries and interesting research occur at the junction of different disciplines, interdisciplinary. The students and teachers will get acquainted with the experience of our colleagues from the Republic of Belarus. They will learn more about the biodiversity of the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha," said Elena Raush.
Oleg Sozinov spoke about the practical application of the geobotanical map to identify key habitats (important for the conservation of biodiversity), as well as to develop a scientifically based approach to the functional zoning of specially protected natural areas. The lecturer presented the report "Identification of key territories important for the conservation of biological diversity, using the example of the National Park "Belovezhskaya Pushcha".
The lecture aroused the keen interest of the audience. Associate professors of the Department of Botany Anastasia Sakovich and Ekaterina Glyakovskaya will also provide the results of their research from the Faculty of Biology of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
Teachers of the Syktyvkar Forest Institute, in turn, will give lectures on forest topics for students of the SLI and the Faculty of Biology and Ecology of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

The Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno has an atmosphere of a real celebration of culture and language. The action "Kupalayskaye shmatgalosse" gathered in the scientific library not only the university management, staff and students, but also special guests – foreign students living and studying at this educational institution.
The participation of students from around the world deserves special attention. Their vivid creativity and love for the Belarusian language and literature became a real discovery for all those present. Young people easily read poetry in the Belarusian language, demonstrating an amazing command of the language and a deep understanding of Belarusian culture.

International cooperation: Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno continues to actively work with the Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimi
From February 12 to 17, YKSUG residents were invited to the Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimi under the program "Visiting Professor".
At the end of 2023, a delegation of 12 people from Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimi arrived at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the universities of the two countries – Belarus and Uzbekistan – to study at advanced training courses "Technologies for improving the quality of teaching and learning at universities."
From February 12 to 17, 2024, within the framework of the Visiting Professor program, the Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimi was visited by the dean of the Faculty of Psychology Olga Mitrofanova and the head of the Department of Experimental and Applied Psychology Konstantin Karpinsky. The invited guests gave lectures on the disciplines of "General Psychology", "Family Psychology", "Evolutionary Psychology", "Positive Psychology".
With the Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimi, the Faculty of Psychology of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno implements a joint educational program in the specialties "Psychology" and "Practical Psychology". As part of the business visit, YKSUG residents exchanged practical and theoretical experience, held open lectures and seminars for students at the departments of co-education, applied psychology, interfacult pedagogy and psychology.
As a result of the working trip, an agreement was reached on submitting a joint application for the competition of Belarusian-Uzbek projects of joint scientific research of the BRFFI, joint scientific articles, scientific conferences.
Strengthening partnerships: Zimbabwean-Belarusian Business Forum in Harare
As part of the visit of the Belarusian delegation from the country's leading universities, the Zimbabwean-Belarusian Business Forum "Building a Strong Partnership" was held in Harare, the capital of the Republic of Zimbabwe, from February 19 to 22: Using a shared vision of a sustainable future." Anton Glazyev, Head of the NIS of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, is taking part in the forum.
The meetings of the expert group in the field of education are held for two days – on February 19 and 20. The delegation members represent such educational institutions as Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, BNTU, BSU, BSUIR, MSLU, BSTU.
At the meeting of the expert group, active work is being carried out to identify promising areas of cooperation with the Republic of Zimbabwe in the field of education and research at the university level. This important event makes it possible to strengthen ties between educational institutions of the two countries and contributes to the development of education and science on a global scale.
It should be noted that in the field of education, Zimbabwe and Belarus support the exchange of students, teachers and researchers. Students from Zimbabwe have the opportunity to study at Belarusian universities in bachelor's, master's and postgraduate programs. Joint scientific research and projects are also being conducted to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between scientists from both countries.
The students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno showed high results at the V International Olympiad on the educational program "Tourism"
On February 5, the results of the V International Distance Olympiad on the educational program "Tourism" were summed up. The students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno presented their university with dignity.
The Olympiad was organized by the Institute for Digital Economy Research of the Karaganda University named after Academician E.A. Buketov (Karaganda city, Republic of Kazakhstan). 9 teams from Kazakhstan and CIS countries took part in the competition.
To participate in the competition, the teams had to develop an original tourist route for the first round, as well as shoot a video on current areas of development of the tourism industry within the framework of the second round. Students of the specialty "Tourism and Hospitality" of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno performed well at the Olympiad. 3rd year students Anastasia Pilets and Margarita Stanchik received a diploma of the 3rd degree. The work of 2nd year students Beata Korsak, Valeria Skorina and Ksenia Anisenko was awarded a special nomination for creative thinking.

The international online school "Innovative technologies of teaching the German language" started at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno
On February 14, the first seminar of the online school "Innovative technologies for teaching the German language" took place. The online school is being implemented within the framework of a cooperation agreement between the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and the M.V. Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University in Arkhangelsk.
The Department of Romano-Germanic Philology of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and the Department of German and French Philology of the SAFU, based on a joint cooperation program, will conduct an International online School from February 14 to March 20, after which participants will receive certificates. The development of innovative technologies will contribute to successful work in future teaching activities.
Nadezhda Vlasyuk, Head of the Department of Romano-Germanic Philology at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, addressed colleagues and students with a welcoming speech. She stressed the importance and necessity of using innovative technologies that facilitate language learning, increase motivation, form listening skills, promote a positive attitude towards learning German, and create an interesting and lively atmosphere.
Maria Sokolova, Head of the Department of German and French Philology, and Elena Shiman, Director of the Center for International Academic Mobility, addressed the participants of the seminar with gratitude for cooperation and wishes for fruitful work from SAFU.
Students of two universities took part in the educational and methodological seminar "Creating a video on the introduction of a new topic for foreign language classes".
The moderator of the training seminar was Larisa Shipitsina, Professor of the Department of German and French Philology at SAFU. YKSUG residents got acquainted with their peers from Arkhangelsk in a playful way, and then in a visual form got acquainted with popular resources, online platforms and technological tools with which interactive videos are created. Students were able to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice by creating their interactive videos according to pre-prepared instructions. The trial videos were posted on the online collaboration board (Miro-Board).
The second seminar will be held on February 21, moderated by Associate Professor of the Department of Romano-Germanic Philology of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Tatyana Skorobogataya.
Methodological seminars will be held weekly until March 20. The online school program includes a number of training seminars dedicated to interactive and information technologies in foreign language classes, and their moderators are associate professors and teachers of both partner universities.
YKSUG residents took part in the III International Winter School of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia
Employees and students of the Department of Finance and Accounting of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took part in the III International Winter School "Dialogues on Digitalization of Business Data Collection, Consolidation, Analysis and Control in the EAEU space", which was held in a remote format from January 13 to February 10, 2024 at the Faculty of Economics of the Patrice Peoples' Friendship University of Russia Lumumba (RUDN).
The III International Winter School was attended by 197 students and teachers from 18 universities in Russia and neighboring countries, joining forces in search of effective business solutions.
Speakers from leading universities in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have identified the vector of scientific research on business data management issues in the context of digital transformation of economic entities.
Lyudmila Tarasova, Head of the Department of Finance and Accounting, presented to the audience a report "On control (supervisory) activities in the Republic of Belarus", in which she revealed the essence, concept, content of financial control and its place in the state management system, familiarized with the principles and scope of state financial control, elements and methods of control, conditions of implementation in the Republic of Belarus.
Natalia Pototskaya, Senior lecturer at the Department of Finance and Accounting, introduced the practice of digitalization into the taxation system of the Republic of Belarus in her report "Digitalization of Tax Administration in the Republic of Belarus".
The format of the open conversation allowed the listeners to gain practice-oriented knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of accounting, taxation, international financial reporting standards, financial control, statistical analysis of business data.

The Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law took part in the international round table
On February 7, an international round table "Contract in civil law: modern development of traditional civil Institutions" was held at the Institute of Retraining and Advanced Training of Judges, prosecutors, courts and Justice Institutions of BSU.
Avak Vartanyan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, made a presentation on the topic "The case and its significance in the regulation of contractual relations." The round table was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the birth of Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Doctor of Law, Professor Valery Godunov.
The event was organized by the Faculty of Law of BSU together with the Law Institute of the Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia.
The rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was awarded the title of Honorary Professor
The title of Honorary Professor was awarded during a meeting at Tashkent State Law University, which took place as part of the official visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Uzbekistan. Irina Kiturko, Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, also visited the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology, Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami and Tashkent State Transport University.
An important event of the meeting at Tashkent State Law University was the awarding of the title of "Honorary Professor" to Irina Fedorovna. The Rector expressed her warm gratitude for the honor. The participants of the meeting discussed further cooperation in already established areas and found new vectors of interaction. Irina Kiturko also met with students enrolled in a joint educational program specializing in International Law.
Rector Botir Usmanov, Vice-rector for International Cooperation Zebo Babakhanova, Vice-rector for Work with Enterprises and Educational Institutions Anvar Shernaev, Vice-rector for Research and Innovation Khairulla Pulatov and a number of employees of the Institute spoke at the meeting at the Tashkent Chemical Technology Institute.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of scientific projects in the field of management and vocational education, as well as the joint training of undergraduates and doctoral students and the organization of summer and winter schools.
Irina Kiturko, Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, also visited Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami. Issues of international cooperation, academic mobility of faculty and students, joint projects in the scientific and academic fields were discussed at the meeting. Following the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation between the two universities was signed.
At the meeting at Tashkent State Transport University, the parties discussed the implementation of joint educational programs. Tashkent colleagues introduced Irina Fedorovna to projects implemented in cooperation with leading universities of the world, current areas of personnel training. The creation of vocational education in accordance with international standards was also discussed.
By the way, the cooperation of the Yanka Kupala University of Grodno with higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan was founded in 2009, when a cooperation agreement was signed with the Tashkent Automobile and Road Institute, now Tashkent State Transport University. In total, there are more than 20
interuniversity agreements between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and universities of Uzbekistan.
YANKA KUPALA STATE UNIVERSITY OF GRODNO SIGNED A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH UNIVERSITIES OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN
The agreement execution took place within the framework of the official visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The visit was full of activities, including a roundtable to sign agreements between the universities of the two countries for more effective cooperation in the field of education.
The delegation included Iryna Kiturka, rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, who signed a cooperation agreement with Madamin Ishmuradov, rector of Urgench Innovative University, and Sadritdin Turabdjanov, rector of Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov.
The signed agreements will allow for the expansion of the field of cooperation and the establishment of closer cooperation in the field of science and education, as well as academic exchanges of students and academic staff. This will enrich the educational process and open new opportunities for both parties.
Speaking of which, YKSUG encourages the initiative of Urgench Innovative University for participation in the plenaries and breakouts of the international scientific conference “Major Aspects of Social and Human Sciences in the Development of Modern Sciences”.
International projects unite: Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was visited by the Director of the Institute of Biomechanics and Medical Engineering of Tsinghua University of the People's Republic of China
As part of the implementation of the joint international research project BRFFI-NFENK No. M23KI-014 "Mechanisms of correction by natural compounds and their nanostructured complexes of metabolic disorders in rat liver and heart tissues in diabetes and intoxication", a representative of the Institute of Biomechanics and Medical Engineering held an open lecture and a master class at the Faculty of Biology and Ecology.
The Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China successfully cooperate in many areas, including in the field of science and education. The second joint project with Tsinghua University in China is being implemented by employees of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, Professor Hu-cheng Zao from Tsinghua University held an open lecture for YKSUG residents "The gating mechanism of mechoselective BK channel" and a seminar "Application of the patch clamp method to determine the conductivity parameters of single mitochondrial channels".
Ilya Borisovich Zavodnik, Professor of the Department of Biochemistry, together with graduate students of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology and a guest from Tsinghua conducted a number of experiments to register the effects of redox-active compounds on the formation of high permeability pores in the mitochondria of the liver and heart of rats, discussed the presentation of the results in the form of joint publications in the journals Journal Membrane Biology, Nanobiology.
Summing up the meeting, Professor Ilya Zavodnik made a presentation on "Regulation of Ca2+ homeostasis and Ca2+-dependent processes in mitochondria of cardiomyocytes", in which he summarized the results obtained during the implementation of the joint project.
