MOST

 

Open call for proposals in the framework of the project of the European Union for expansion of trade contacts between citizens of Belarus and the EU "MOST" .

Dear colleagues, opened a call for proposals in the framework of the project of the European Union for expansion of trade contacts between citizens of Belarus and the EU "BRIDGE" Mobility Scheme for Targeted People-to-People Contacts (mobility Program for targeted interpersonal contacts). The project runs until December 2017.

MOST – this is your chance to get funding for an internship (4 weeks) or short stay (up to 7 days, conferences, festivals, etc.) in one of the countries of the European Union. Paid all the expenses of mobility.

Areas of project financing: culture, education and youth, science and technology, health, energy, public administration, tourism, media, economics, etc.

The program "Baltic University"

 

Since 2002, the Faculty of Biology and Ecology has been cooperating in the framework of the Baltic University Program (PBU).

Since 1991the program is a joint educational project aimed at solving problems:

  • Environmental protection;
  • Sustainable development and democratic transformations in the region through educational initiatives;
  • Strengthening the role of universities in society.

More than 200 universities from 14 countries of the Baltic region (Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Ukraine, Norway, Slovak Republic, Czech Republic) are participants in the network.

 

IAESTE

 

The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE).

            The IAESTE program is an association for the exchange of students of technical specialties, which gives 3-4 courses students, whose studies are related to the technical sciences, physics, chemistry, computer science, as well as biology, ecology, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, etc., the opportunity to undergo an internship for abroad lasting from 1 to 4 months from May to September.

The exchange program provides for the organization of summer practice on the principles of reciprocity. In accordance with its rules, a Belarusian university should host the same number of interns as it sent. The official website of the association - http://www.iaeste.org/

Today, 85 countries are participating in the IAESTE. The Republic of Belarus has been participating in the program since 2000 as an associate member, and since 2013 Belarus is a full member of the IAESTE.

Old New Year

The event allowed students from Poland and Spain to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of our country. So, the organizers told foreign guests about the features of the winter holidays in Belarus and how is customary to celebrate New Year and Christmas. Foreign students were glad to see Ded Moroz and Snegurochka, noting that there were no such New Year characters in their countries. Throughout the evening, the guys showed their talents - they danced, read poems and sang songs in their native languages. They were impressed by paper snowballs and round dances to New Year's tunes. At the end of the event, guests received souvenirs and sweets.

Grodno Trip

A group of European students have visited our lovely town during the weekend. We organized a cultural evening and had a great time together. They also enjoyed the views of Grodno during walking tour around tiny streets and huge churches. We did our best to make the students feel and touch the atmosphere of our wonderful hometown. Welcome Party for Erasmus+ students

 

To welcome Erasmus + students from Spain, the long-awaited Welcome Party took place. The program included teambuilding games, a mini-presentation about the Erasmus Student Network and the Erasmus + program, karaoke, good music and much more. For YKSUG students it was also a great opportunity to practice English and make new friends. And the homemade cherry pie, which Vera Bricheva baked, became an excellent addition to the cozy atmosphere.

United trainings of ESN sections of Lithuania, Latvia and Poland

ESN is an opportunity not only for personal growth, but also for traveling, receiving guests from various sections of ESN. This time the city of Grodno was visited by the members from Poland and the Baltic countries: Latvia and Lithuania. Our neighbours brought many wonderful emotions with them and shared impressions gathered over the past three days. For us, it was not only fun and exciting days, but also very useful ones. 

During this time, we communicated, studied the culture and traditions of our neighbouring countries, practiced foreign languages, participated in many events, and also exchanged invaluable experience in the development and improvement of ESN sections. Presentations and trainings were held for all who wanted to learn more about the Erasmus Student Network.

Masquerade Party “The Bright Autumn”

 This Saturday, ESN YKSUG volunteers together with the activists of the YKSUG student union held a bright and energetic event "The Bright Autumn". Funny contests, incendiary music, original dances and unforgettable impressions - this and not only the children remembered the cold Saturday evening. Since the prerequisite of the party was the presence of an autumn suit, the guys could come up with an outfit on the spot, using decorations and leaves collected by volunteers.

 The priority of ESN YKSUG is assistance in adaptation of foreign students. To this end, the Welcome Party was organized. At the event, our volunteers and students from other countries found new friends, learned more about the traditions and culture of Belarus and, most importantly, had a great time. And at the end of the meeting, the participants left their impressions in the form of entries on the canvas, which is now on the wall in the office of ESN YKSUG.

Information seminar for Erasmus+ students of YKSUG

Today an information seminar was held for students of the Yanka Kupala Grodno State University, who will participate in the Erasmus+ program in the fall semester of 2017/2018. During the seminar, they received valuable information about the different aspects of staying abroad and studying at partner universities (University of Maribor (Slovenia), LUMSA University in Palermo (Italy), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). Health, accommodation, food and, of course, the local sections of the ESN of destination countries. You can be sure that our students will achieve success and spend an unforgettable time.

Saturday Morning Run

More than 20 students gathered for a morning run. The participants ran about 3 km, did exercises at the stadium, and finally enjoyed the smoothies of the local healthy lifestyle club. The 31st International Congress of Representatives of Local Sections of the Erasmus International Student Exchange Network (ESN) in Kaunas, Lithuania and the International Meeting of ESN National Delegates in Bialystok, Poland

On 18-19th March 2017, members of the club of “ESN YKSUG” represented by Nadezhda Kuryan, Andrei Minevich, Dmitry Shumeiko, Vera Bricheva and Yulia Gaponik attended the 31st International Congress of Representatives of Local Sections of the International Network of Student Exchanges Erasmus (ESN) in Kaunas, Lithuania. Alexander Lapatnev, the chairman of the ESN YKSUG club, who is currently studying at Mykolas Romeriis University in Vilnius as part of the Erasmus + program, was also a congress participant. In addition, students Ekaterina Gorgun and Veronika Gaidukevich took part in the International Meeting of ESN National Delegates in Bialystok, Poland.

During the visits, the students presented the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, the club of student initiatives “ESN YKSUG”, attended various seminars and master classes. During the meetings, contacts were established with representatives of various departments and sections of the ESN: Lithuanian National Council (Inessa Tsvetkova, Daria Kupskaite, Karolis Krutka), Lithuanian National ESN Coordinator (Ignat Plavsky), ESN National Representative in Bialystok (Igor Pater), as well as ESN sections from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Students discussed the possibilities of future cooperation, exchanged experiences, set goals for future work. Also, students gained theoretical and practical experience in accompanying and adapting participants of academic mobility within the framework of the Erasmus + program.

Belarusian National Cuisine Workshop “Maslenitsa”

The event was organized with the aim of integrating foreign students into the local community and familiarizing them with how people celebrate Christmas and New Year in Belarus so that they feel more comfortable.

 

Students of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno have fulfilled the New Year wishes of the pupils of the Vasilishkivsky care home

Within the framework of the republican charity event "Our Children", a New Year's party at the boarding school was visited by the leadership and students of GRSU.

Congratulating everyone on the upcoming holidays, Rector Irina Kyturko noted that the representatives of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno traditionally come to the Vasilishki boarding school for disabled children with special physical and psychological development on the eve of the New Year and Christmas to congratulate the children. Irina Kyturko wished the pupils and the administration of the institution of happiness, goodness and fulfillment of desires in 2018. As a New Year gift from the Grodno State University, the rector bought a certificate to strengthen the material and technical base of the institution, as well as a number of other pleasant prizes.

The representatives of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Biology and Ecology presented themselves as real fairy magicians. The students of Grodno State University red all the letters (there were more than a hundred), which were addressed by the children of the institution to Santa, and also they prepared the coveted gifts for the children. In addition, students and teachers of the faculties of pre-university training, mathematics and computer science, history, communication and tourism, the Faculty of Psychology and the Faculty of Education received sweet prizes for the charity Christmas and New Year gatherings.

The administration of the care home for handicapped children with special psychophysical development thanked the representatives of Grodno University for their cooperation, sensitivity and ability to empathize, the ability and desire to support those who need help.

Andrei Lobovich, the first Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, Alina Voroniuk, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee - Head of the Pension and Benefit Administration, as well as representatives of local authorities, public organizations and NGOs came to congratulate the students on the New Year. Givinging the presents, the adults together with the children danced in a round sang New Year's songs and exchanged wishes of good and luck in the new 2018 year.

 

Christmas meetings took place at the Faculty of Philology of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

The pre-holiday events, which are traditionally held by the Department of Polish Philology of the Philological Faculty, was visited by , Yaroslav Ksenez, the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Grodno.

Students, participants of the civil-patriotic project "Living History", prepared a program in which everyone could demonstrate the skill of mastering an artistic word. GRSU students connected live music with a literary and historical excursion "Journey on the eve of Christmas", recitation of poems and singing of Christmas songs, which, incidentally, was performed not only by the students themselves, but also by students of language courses for people of retirement age at the Center for Social Services of the Population of Oktyabrsky District Grodno. By the way, for many years the course of the Polish language for elderly Grodno students is conducted by Elena Antonevich, the student of the philological faculty.

- Christmas holidays carry an unusually powerful life-affirming beginning, when people's hearts are filled with kindness. Christmas – as the great day of the whole Christian world - has long been accompanied by colorful folk customs. This is one of the main family holidays. Within the prefeast and afterfeast, the holiday of the Nativity of Christ lasts for twelve days and, undoubtedly, is filled with our kind wishes, charitable actions, attentive attitude to children and people of advanced age, - Olga Pan'kova, assistant professor,  the head of the civil-patriotic project "Live History", noted.

At the meeting, the participants of this project recalled the charity work of Eliza Ozheshko: a participant of the civil and patriotic project "Living History" in the image of an outstanding writer of the Prinemansky Part held a quiz "Traditions and Symbols of the Christmas Eve".

Yaroslav Ksenez , Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Grodno drew the attention of all participants to the unique atmosphere of the Christmas holidays, forcing people to become kinder and lighter.

"In the world of everyday worries, Christmas Eve unites us together and allows us to look at each other more closely, because it is impossible to express wishes in haste, without looking closely at dear people's eyes,"- the head of the Polish diplomatic corps in Grodno stressed.

Inna Lisovskaya, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, noted the special importance of the profession of teachers, tutors, educators, who work with young people, and also expressed gratitude to the students who prepared an interesting, rich program.

Symbolically, on the eve of the great Christian holiday, Father Viktor Bokhan, priest of the parish of the Most Holy Redeemer and archpriest Vladimir Borisevich, clergyman of the Holy Protection Cathedral, attended the meeting. Priests of both faiths pointed to the spiritual essence of the Nativity of Christ and the significance of genuine, enduring values, moral guidelines in the life of modern man.

Evgeny Pankov, associate Professor, Head of the Department of Polish Philology, in the final word-congratulation wished goods and joy to colleagues, students and their relatives.

The conference of the labor collective took place in the Yanka Kupala Grodno State University

The issues of the implementation of the Collective Agreement at the Yanka Kupala State University in Grodno following the results of 2017, changes and additions to the Collective Agreement and its annexes for 2018, as well as issues related to the activities of the university, were considered during the labor collective conference on December, 18.

"The most important thing in the organization is its executive and initiative  employees, on which the success of the university as a whole depends," Irina Kuturko, the rector of the University, said greeting the audience. - In the early 90's we were among the first who had a Collective Agreement. Initially, it was a three-page document. Today it is a solid, powerful document. Our collective agreement was repeatedly noted by external organizations as one of the best in Belarus. And it means that we are on the right way.

Speaking to the audience, Vasyl Senko, the pro-rector for educational work, and Igor Kerget, the chairman of the trade union of university employees, stressed that the Collective Agreement is based on social partnership, equality of the parties, compliance with legislative norms, the power to make commitments and take into account the real possibilities of material, production and financial provision of duties. At the meeting, Vasily Vasilievich and Igor Leonidovich presented the additions to the Collective Agreement in 2017 and told about the material and other support of the university staff, their encouragement and assistance in sanatorium treatment in the outgoing year.

Galina Sakomskaya, the Head of the Center for Personnel and Legal Work, presented the changes and additions of the Collective Agreement for 2018 to the conference participants. At the same time, her attention was focused on the fact that the basis of the draft Collective Agreement is the preservation of the basic conditions and provisions of the current Collective Agreement, additional social benefits and payments to employees, in excess of those stipulated by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus. Galina Stepanovna also answered the questions of employees and teachers of the Yanka Kupala State university.

During the conference, there were created commission to monitor the implementation of the Collective Agreement, also new commission on labor disputes, and the conciliation commission. Also, changes were made to the composition of the housing commission, the commission for sanitation and sanatorium treatment and the public commission on housing issues.

Collective agreement of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was developed and signed in 1990. GRSU became the second institution of higher education in the country after BSU, where this document appeared.

In 2011 the Collective Agreement of Grodno University became the winner of the demonstration-contest of collective agreements of educational institutions of the Grodno region. In 2012, at the Republican demonstration-contest of Collective Agreements of Educational Establishments of the Belarusian Professional Union of Workers of Education and Science, the document was awarded a diploma for the second place. In 2013, GRSU became a finalist of the contest of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus for the award for a significant contribution to the development of social partnership. In 2017, the Yanka Kupala State University became the finalists of this republican contest again.

The studio of the young journalist "Media STARt" started its work at the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

The first studio’s classes, which included the preparation of the entrants to enter the specialty "Journalism" for the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, started on December, 16.

"Media-STARt" is a unique creative laboratory of television, radio, press, theater and cinema, advertising and PR-technologies, which allows entrants to fully prepare for the introduction into the future profession.

- Classes in "Media-STARt" are some kind of mix 3в1- this is a lecture, a practical lesson, a master class. Classes are conducted by teachers and students of specialties "Journalism" and "Information and Communication", and journalists practicing of Grodno and the Grodno region. The task of the studio is to establish communication with the entrants, also prepare them for entrance examinations in the specialty "Journalism", - Kira Bludova-Goy, the head of the studio "Media-STARt", said.

This time the studio united pupils from schools, lyceums, gymnasiums of the Grodno city, and also pupils from Student Media Center of Grodno and Brest regions. Kira Bludova-Goy introduced the students to the teachers and students of the journalism department, she told them about the studio and the plan of it work in this academic year.

Then the entrants tried themselves in the role of TV journalists dring the master class "I'm on and behind the camera" and listened to the lecture given by Irina Pivovarchik, the assistant professor of journalism. Seminar "Shot, the grond, camera angle - the secrets of successful film and video shooting" was organized by Inna Minchuk, the acting director and the Head of the Department of Journalism, who spoke in detail about the creation of the news story and shared the nuances of this process.

It should be noted that classes in the studio of the young journalist "Media STARt" are held every Saturday from 12.00 to 15.00 on the Ozheshko, 22 street, aud. 333. The next meeting will be held on December, 23.

Graduate students of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno became the diploma winners of the international contest "Mass Media Perspective 2017"

The final of the contest was held at the St. Petersburg State University. This year's competitive program "Virtual behavior vs. real consequences" was devoted to problems of Internet security and intelligent behavior in social networks.

Graduate students of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno passed the elimination round and defended the project "#Instarules - this is for you!", focused on engaging teenagers in awareness with the rules of secure account management in the social network Instagram. Within the framework of the project, which was prepared under the guidance of Irina Gerasimchik, an assistant professor of the Department of Journalism, "#Instarules_foto", an interactive educational challenge, was developed. This challenge is part of "MediaDom", the faculty complex interdisciplinary project. Following the results of the competition, the team of the students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno received a diploma of the finalist.

Apart from competitive part, useful workshops in the digital sphere were held for participants. The experts were Boris Grigoriev, Executive General Manager of the GenerationBrand & Communication agency, Olga Laktyushina, Communications Adviser of the IT company Sum & Substance and Viktor Naumov, Manager of the law firm Dentos, Head of Russian practice in the field of intellectual property, IT and telecommunications.

"Mass Media Prespective" is an annual international competition of student communication projects focused on searching of young professionals in the field of PR, journalism and advertising, who have the greatest professional and creative potential.

Yaroslav Ksenzhek, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Grodno, met with students of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

The meeting was held at the Center of Polish Language, Literature and Culture with organizational and creative support of the civil and patriotic project of Grodno University "Live History". Together with Yaroslav Ksenzhek, his wife, Elzhbieta Ksenzhek, visited the university.

A cultural and historical, literary retrospective of Grodno region was taken as a basis of the event.

Olga Pankova, head of the civil and patriotic project" Living History ", assistant professor of the  Department of Russian philology said: “Songs and a fair imaginative word traditionally existed in our beautiful Grodno region. Where in the rapid Neman discharges its waters, where the Shchara, Ros, Ditva, Kotra, Chernaya Gancha are scattered like blue ribbons and the mysterious Svityaz shines, people enamored of  poetry and literature were born and are born there. The cultural heritage of Belarus, the past and the present, the landscape closed to the heart, the images of the native people, dreams and hopes are the basis of their creativity. Poetry is the voice of the earth, the strength and wisdom of generations and memory”.

Yaroslav Ksenzhek, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Grodno, continued the conversation about the book. He donated the encyclopedic and reference literature, required for students of various specialties of the university, to the Center of Polish Language, Literature and Culture.

The head of the Polish diplomatic corps in Grodno said: “I am very grateful to the students for the creative part of this meeting and the historical excursion. I am convinced once again that Grodno region is full of talents and that is an interesting place where history borders on modernity. There are many monuments of architecture and unique sights in Grodno that we unlikely will be able to see in other regions of Belarus. And Grodno residents should protect and keep this heritage”.

The meeting ended with a review of the feature film "Tomorrow we will go to the cinema" directed by Michal Kvetinsky, which tells about three graduates who begin adulthood, feel hopeful and how the sudden initiate World War II will forever destroy all their plans and dreams. Yaroslav Ksenzhek noted that this film raises a number of topical issues and it is an outstanding film of modern filmmakers of Poland.

It is expected that such film viewing sessions will become regular at the philological faculty. In January, it is planned to hold the next meeting, during which students will get acquainted with the Polish cinematograph and discuss films with Consul.

Within the framework of the visit, Yaroslav Ksenzhek also met with Yuri Belykh and Gennady Gachko, Vice-Rectors for Academic Matters, and considered prospective variants of cooperation between higher educational institutions of Poland and the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

The winners of the first Interuniversity Olympiad on Political Science "Individual in the World of Politics" were announced in the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

The Olympiad was held among the first and second- year students of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Grodno State Agrarian University, Grodno State Medical University and Grodno branch of the BIP-Institute of Law.

The competition took place in three stages. At the first stage participants were offered to answer 60 questions of test tasks on various modules of the course "Political Science. Basic concepts of the ideology of Belarus". At the second stage the contestants wrote essays.

The organizers of the Olympiad said: "The main field of scientific opposition developed within the framework of the task performance, that is writing essays on such topics as politics, power and civil society, public administration, democracy, the current political process, civil position".

The final stage of the competition was a blitz speech. The students presented for the jury the rationale for choosing the topic of the heuristic task and argued the conclusions drawn in the essay. The jury evaluated the quality of self-presentation, imagery, colorfulness, brevity and persuasiveness of the presentation of the material. The observation of the time parameter was also taken into account.

The winners of the Olympiad were Olga Mikhaylova, the second- year student of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, and Elizaveta Shishkina, the first- year student of Grodno branch of the BIP-Institute of Law.

Karina Savitskaya, the first year student of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, and Olga Kisel, the first -year student of Grodno State Medical University took a second place.

The third place was shared by Alexander Mazurov, the first-year student of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Yanka Kupala State University, and Anna Zayko, the first-year student of Grodno State Agrarian University.

The Olympiad is focused on identifying and supporting of clever and talented students in the field of liberal education. Holding this intellectual competition, the organizers have been intended for developing students' creative abilities for scientific work, deepening their creative knowledge, practical skills and interest in social and political processes, striving for political self-education, developing the skills of management decision-making and giving a chance to take the initiative and independence.

The meeting in the framework of the project Tempus «Applied Computing in Engineering and Science» (ACES) took place in Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal.

Natalya Markovskaya participated in the meeting as the representative of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

During the meeting the participants discussed the questions of interfaculty cooperation perspectives, as well as training materials on statistical computer calculations for the specialty Applied Computer Data Analysis.
