The concert programme was opened with musical performances Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno’s students. After that, the Honored Collective of the Republic of Belarus "Grodno Chapel" under the leadership of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Bormotov gave the audience unforgettable emotions and his creativity from the stage.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Tashkent Chemical - Technological Institute has signed a cooperation agreement

The agreement on cooperation between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Tashkent Chemical - Technological Institute was signed during the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Uzbekistan.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is represented by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Yury Bialykh as part of the Belarusian government delegation. The agreement was signed on March 4 as part of a meeting with the leadership of Tashkent Chemical - Technological Institute. The document provides for cooperation in educational and scientific activities, the establishment of academic, scientific and cultural ties, the development of scientific potential and ensuring high-quality professional training of specialists. The parties plan to hold joint meetings, conferences, consultations, seminars, meetings to develop common ideas and solutions on issues of mutual interest.
Among the main areas of joint activity – exchange of experience on research and educational work, conducting joint research and scientific internships to improve the skills of the teaching staff, exchange of students, undergraduates, postgraduates, training of highly qualified scientific personnel, exchange of scientists and teachers for lectures and consultations, preparation of joint scientific and methodological publications, mutual review of research and educational and methodological works, as well as conducting joint sports and cultural events.
During the visit of the Belarusian delegation to the Republic of Uzbekistan, another agreement on international cooperation is expected to be signed on March 5 – between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and the Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Arts and Design.

The winners and awardees of the Republican Universiade-2020 were awarded at the Yanka Kupala State University The team of Kupala University won the final competition among the opponents in the first group.

The solemn ceremony of awarding the winners was held at Yanka Kupala State University with the participation of athletes and honorary guests. The Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Igor Karpenko, welcoming the winners and awardees of the Republican Universiade, noted the symbolism of this year, which is declared the Year of National Unity in Belarus. He stressed that the future sports competitions and the participation of Belarusian athletes in them will definitely demonstrate the unity of generations:
- Higher education institutions in Belarus successfully help to train talents for professional sports. Thanks to this, our athletes continue to win medals of the highest standard at competitions of different levels. The Belarusian School Sports Association was also established last year. I am sure that this will ensure continuity from school sports to student sports, and then to high-performance sports.
The event was also attended by an Assistant to the President and the Inspector for the Grodno region Yuri Karaev, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development Viktor Liskovich, Chairman of the Belarusian Association of Student Sports Alexander Bogdanovich, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the public association "Belarusian Republican Youth Union" Dmitry Voronyuk. They awarded the winners and awardees of the Republican Universiade-2020 in 4 groups.
According to the results of the team championship among higher education institutions of the first group, the first place was taken by the team of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. Representatives of Kupala University won the first place in Greco-Roman wrestling, and also won the competition among women in 3x3 basketball. The second place according to the results of the final games – for women's teams in such sports as handball and basketball, and the third place according to the results of competitions among women – for volleyball and football players of our university. The overall final score of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in the results table of the Republican Universiade-2020 is 989.55.
The Republican Universiade for Students of higher education institutions was held on the initiative of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus and the Republican Cent for Physical Education and Sports of Students.

Rector of Yanka Kupala State University Iryna Kiturka was awarded the Gratitude of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus

An Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus and the Inspector for the Grodno region Yuri Karaev presented the Rector of Yanka Kupala State University Iryna Kiturka with the Gratitude of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
Iryna Kiturka was awarded for her long-term work, contribution to the development of science and innovation at Yanka Kupala State University, and active social activities.

The action "Native word flows from the mouth" was held in the Scientific Library of Yanka Kupala State University

The event, which was attended by Belarusian and foreign students of Kupala University, was held as part of the Mother Tongue Week.
In the reading room of the Scientific Library of Yanka Kupala State University, poems were performed not only in Belarusian, but also in Chinese, Turkmen, and Uzbek. Among the participants of the action were students who came to study at Kupala University from different countries. At the same time, foreign students read poems not only in their native language, but also in the language of Kupala. The poem of the Belarusian classic “And who is going there?” was translated into Chinese. A student of the Faculty of Philology, Gurlukh Berdieva, presented her author's translation of Yanka Kupala's poem "Native Word".
The Scientific Library of Yanka Kupala State University annually holds a number of events in the framework of the Mother Tongue Week at the end of February. Among traditional events – exhibitions and action "Reading our favourite authors together" on social networks.

“Synergy of educational, scientific, management and industrial components for climate management and climate change prevention / CLIMAN”

The project envisaged training of qualified climate managers. For this purpose, project teams will study best EU practices, select and train staff, update existing Master degree programs in environmental protection and management by developing an interdisciplinary training module in climate change prevention, adaptation and mitigation.

The aim of the project is to help the universities of Georgia, the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine to become centers for the development of research of climate management to accelerate integration into the global climate market and to meet global climate regulation requirements by acquiring best European practices in the field of climate change prevention, adaptation and mitigation.

The specific objectives of the project are as follows:

  1. Update the existing Master degree programs by developing an interdisciplinary training module "Climate Management".
  2. Establish consulting Climate Management Centers at partner universities and ensure their sustainable development.
  3. Facilitate the development and strengthening of institutional capacity of partner universities aiming to develop recommendations for the industrial, transport, energy, tourism sectors and local authorities in the sphere of climate change prevention, adaptation and mitigation.

Indicators of progress in the project implementation are as follows:

  1. The number of high-quality, multi-skilled specialists trained for comprehensive addressing of the challenges of climate change prevention, adaptation and mitigation.
  2. Good national organizational structure for professionals in climate change prevention, adaptation and mitigation.
  3. Qualitatively organized system of support of the development of climate regulation

The international project «Modernization of postgraduate training in the field of natural sciences and improvement of teaching methods" is being implemented at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno»

The international technical assistance project is being carried out within the framework of the European Commission «Erasmus+» programme.
The project coordinator at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is the Department of training and certification of highly qualified researchers. As a result of the project, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno will organize the process of training postgraduates and applicants for natural science and technical specialties in innovative training programs, as well as the participation of scientific supervisors of postgraduates and applicants in international seminars on the development and implementation of modern teaching methods.
An important aspect of the international technical assistance project is the development of scientific and pedagogical cooperation between universities in Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Latvia, Poland, Finland and the United Kingdom. The main goal is to expand the opportunities for cooperation between higher education institutions of the partner countries in the implementation of postgraduate programs within the European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area.
The project partners are Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University, Belarusian National Technical University, Yerevan State University, Kazan National Research Technological University, Brunel University of London, Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, National Polytechnic University of Armenia, Polotsk State University, Russian State Vocational Pedagogical University, University of Helsinki, Jagiellonian University in Krakow. The leading partner of the project is the University of Latvia.

The scientists of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno will take part in a project to train personnel in the field of radiation protection and nuclear safety culture of the Republic of Belarus

23- 24 of November a kick-off meeting of the partners ot the project action RADIUM was held.
The working group of Yanka Kupala State University is represented by the staff of the Faculty of Physics and Technology. It consistes of the Associate Professor of the Department of General Physics, Project Manager Natalya Valko, the Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology Andrei German, Associate Professor of the Department of General Physics Andrei Lavysh, Head of the Department of General Physics Alexander Maskevich and the Professor of the Department of General Physics Natalia Strekal. During the kick-off meeting, the working groups of partner universities made presentations reflecting possible ways of implementing the main tasks of the project .The full project title “EU best practices-based education in Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Culture for the Belarusian Academia – RADIUM” reflects the main objectives. The project’s specific objectives are:
• Developing a new modular master program meeting the requirements of the labour market for the rapidly developing nuclear industry in Belarus and its infrastructure;
• Upgrading curricula for the second level of higher education at 6 universities of Belarus to ensure an advanced level of training in radiation safety and the development of nuclear safety culture in the society;
• Updating the competences in the field of nuclear knowledge by introducing new methodological support into the curricula and educational programs with close collaboration with EU Universities and adopting their experience, using advanced information and communication technologies, network interaction of the Partner Universities and the organizations-customers of personnel.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is coordinator of the cross-border project under the Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020 programme

The project aims to preserve and popularize the historical and literary heritage of Eliza Ozheshko and Ludwig Zamenhof and the development of cross-border tourism.

The new international project of Yanka Kupala State University is being implemented jointly with the University of Bialystok. The first meeting of the entire working group of the project took place online. The project manager, associate professor of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Yanka Kupala State University Vitaly Kornelyuk, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages Svetlana Gonchar, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language Elena Nelepko, Deputy Chief Accountant Svetlana Feduta, as well as representatives of the University of Bialystok - Professor Anna Yanitskaya and Dr. Grazhina Davidovich took part in the videoconference.
Within the framework of the project "Preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of Eliza Ozheshko and Ludwig Zamenhof in Grodno and Bialystok" a number of events are planned. Among them are the design of information boards and their installation at key points of the route, the development and publication of a tourist booklet "People uniting cultures", the presentation of routes in Grodno and Bialystok, the publication of scientific papers and the development of the project website.
It is expected that one of the results of the project will be the creation of a new tourist route "Ways of life and work of Ozheshko", which will connect all the historical and culturally important places associated with the life and work of the writer in Grodno and the region. The route will be accompanied by a specially designed excursion available in Belarusian, Polish and English.

A kick-off meeting of the participants of the international project on climate management was held at Yanka Kupala State University

The participants of the Erasmus+ CBHE action “Synergy of educational, scientific, management and industrial components for climate management and climate change prevention”/ CLIMAN took part in the online kick-off meeting with partners.
The aim of the international project is to help universities in Georgia, Ukraine and Belarus become centers for the development of research in the field of climate management to accelerate integration into the global climate market and to meet the requirements of global climate regulation by acquiring the best European practices in the field of prevention, adaptation and mitigation of climate change
The participants of the first meeting were greeted by the project coordinator, director of the Netherlands Academy of Business, professor of finance Jan van Zwieten, co-coordinator, head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ukrainian University "KROK" Andrey Lotarev, head of the Erasmus + national office in Belarus Oksana Minich. During the online seminar, representatives of 12 partner universities made presentations of the project teams.
The Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology Alexander Karevsky and the Head of the International Projects Department Alesya Belko spoke about the main tasks of Yanka Kupala State University, which are planned to be solved during the implementation of the project.
It is expected that one of the results of the project will be the creation of a Climate Management Consulting Center at Kupala University, which work will be aimed at developing recommendations for the industrial, transport, energy, tourism sectors and local authorities in the field of prevention, adaptation and mitigation of climate change consequences.
During the online seminar, the schedule of upcoming events and the criteria for the quality of their implementation were discussed and agreed.
