Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Hosts the 9th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Current Issues in the Psychology of Personality and Social Interaction"

Today, October 8, the Faculty of Psychology at YKSUG is hosting the scientific and practical conference "Current Issues in the Psychology of Personality and Social Interaction." The event is being held in both in-person and online formats, making participation accessible to a wide range of researchers, educators, practitioners, and early-career scientists.
The conference marks the centenary of the birth of Sviatlana Kondratsyeva—Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, and Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus—who founded the scientific school of "Social-Perceptual and Social-Reflexive Psychology of Pedagogical Work and Teacher Professional Development" at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. To honor the occasion, a lecture hall named after Svetlana Kondratsyeva was ceremoniously opened at the Faculty of Psychology, serving as a tribute of deep respect to this distinguished scholar and founder of the scientific school.
The conference is organized by YKSUG in collaboration with major research centers in Belarus, Russia, and Uzbekistan. Co-organizers include Belarusian State University, Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University named after K.D.Ushinsky, Kokand State Pedagogical Institute, and other prestigious institutions. The program committee is chaired by Natalia Bashun, Vice-Rector for Research at Yanka Kupala State University and Candidate of Biological Sciences. Approximately 40 scientists, including 10 researchers from abroad, are expected to participate in the sessions. The working languages of the event are Belarusian, Russian, and English. The conference addresses a range of topics, including psychological phenomenology; the mechanisms and patterns of personality development and functioning as an agent of one’s life path; and methodological, theoretical, and applied issues in the psychology of personality and social interaction. Participants will discuss intelligence as a form of mental experience organization and a resource for coping behavior; personality formation and socialization in a digital society; current issues in professional and spiritual-moral development; agency within the educational process; and personality development within the family context, as well as the psychology of intercultural interaction.
This scientific event plays a vital role in ensuring generational continuity within the field. Sviatlana Kondratyeva’s research into the social-perceptual and social-reflective psychology of teaching laid the groundwork for the professional development of teachers across the republic. The current gathering aims to build upon this legacy amidst global technological and social changes.
A collection of scientific papers will be compiled based on the proceedings of the sessions and the roundtable discussion. All submissions will undergo expert review by the organizing committee—led by Volha Mitrafanova, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno—and will be digitally archived and indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index.
