A new project “Improving University Teaching and Learning” (UniTeLE) within the framework of the “Erasmus +” program started in Yanka Kupala State University
Staff of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took part in the first meeting of the project “Improving university teaching and learning” at the University of Linneus in Vaxjo (Sweden).
Head of the international project sector of Education Internationalization Centre Victoria Kerget and Head of educational department of educational and methodical management Anatoly Bogdevich presented to the project partners the achievements of Yanka Kanka State University in international project activities, the introduction of innovative educational technologies and quality management system.
The implementation of the project results will allow Yanka Kupala State University to take another step towards innovative development, improving the organization of the educational process at the university in accordance with European standards for ensuring the quality of education.
As a result of the implementation of the UniTeLE project, it is planned to create a center for academic development and pedagogical training at the university, to develop and introduce innovative educational methods. An important aspect of the project is the development of pedagogical interaction and pedagogical networks for staff of universities in Sweden, Italy, Germany, Turkey and Belarus.

The aim of the project is to improve the quality of higher education with a focus on employment in terms of improving internal quality assurance of teaching and learning and improving the work of the teaching staff of partner universities in Belarus in accordance with the growing demands of society and the economy.
The head of the department of sports disciplines, Vitaly Khramov, visited the Pope John Paul II State Higher School in Biala Podlaska (Poland)
The visit took place within the framework of the “Erasmus +” program.
During the visit, the head of the department of sports disciplines Vitaly Khramov gave lectures to students of the faculty of health sciences about the current state of the theory and practice of kinesiology.
Meetings were held with the faculty of the Department of Physical Education and Physiotherapy, during which the parties discussed the prospects for the implementation of joint scientific, academic and project activities and identified relevant topics of research in the field of physical culture sciences.
In addition, the possibilities of preparing publications in scientific journals included in the database Scopus, Web of Science were considered.
When visiting the Center for Innovative Research of the Higher School for Vitaly Khramov, the experience of organizing the educational process and the research work of students based on the subjects of the innovation infrastructure of the educational institution was demonstrated.
Yanka Kupala State University expands cooperation with the University of Gdansk in the Republic of Poland
As part of the “Erasmus +” program, Inna Samoilova, Head of the Language Training Department of Belarusian and Foreign Citizens of Yanka Kupala State University, visited the Institute of Russian Studies and Oriental Studies at the University of Gdansk.
During the visit, Inna Samoilova told Polish students about the Yanka Kupala State University of Belarus, its history and the opportunities it provides to Belarusian and foreign students, and lectured to the students of the Russian Philology and Russian Studies departments about the identification of the national cultural component in languages.
She also met with the faculty of the Department of Pragmatics of Communication and Linguodidactics.
The parties discussed the prospects for the implementation of joint scientific, academic and project activities and identified relevant research topics in the field of linguodidactics.
In addition, the possibilities of preparing joint monographs and articles for publication in scientific journals that are part of the Scopus database, Web of Science were considered.
Representatives of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno visited the Karl and Franz University in Graz, Austria
During the visit, representatives of the law faculty took part in the installation conference of the ERASMUS + project “Modernization of Master Programs for Future Judges, Prosecutors, and Investigators to Consider European Standards in the Field of Human Rights”.
The event was attended by the Head of the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Rimma Klyuchko and Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of Yanka Kupala State University Grigory Tretyakov.
During the project's installation conference, the concept of upgrading the master's program was discussed, as well as questions about the content of the project and its expected results, the financial component, its methodology and principles.
The conference was also attended by representatives of partner organizations: University of Potsdam (Germany), Vilnius University (Lithuania), University of Rijeka (Croatia), University of Ex-Marseille (France), Yaroslav the Wise National Law University (Ukraine), Lviv National University named after Ivan Franko (Ukraine), National University "Odessa Law Academy" (Ukraine), Belarusian State University (Belarus).

The visit took place in the framework of international cooperation.
During the visit, meetings were held with the staff of the Education Internationalization Centre, including the International projects and academic mobility office, the international project activities sector, during which they discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of internationalization of education, academic mobility, project activities, and issues related to organization of work with foreign students.
A meeting was held with representatives of the Faculty of Philology - Dean of the Faculty of Philology Ina Lisovskaya, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Elena Yasyukevich and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Romance-Germanic Philology Elena Juh. The parties discussed the possibility of cooperation between faculties under the Erasmus + program, conducting joint research, and a preliminary agreement was reached on conducting trial webinars for students of two faculties.
Elena Krivograd also met with the departments of the pedagogical faculty, visited the educational-methodical study of educational technologies, took part in the meeting of the round table of the department of natural science and linguistic disciplines and methods of teaching them "Innovative models of education abroad."

During the visit, meetings were held with the staff of the Faculty of Physical Education and the Department of Sports Medicine and Physical Education, during which the parties discussed the prospects for the implementation of joint scientific, academic and project activities in the field of physical culture science. The possibilities of preparing publications in scientific journals included in the database Scopus, Web of Science are considered.
It is worth noting that the first publication of Belarusian authors is planned in the journal “Health Problems of Civilization”, included in the Web of Science, published in the State Higher School Pope John Paul II in Biala Podlaska in mid-2019.
During the visit, Joanna Bai-Korpak lectured to the students of the Faculty of Physical Education on the theory of sports training and its relationship with the anatomical features of highly qualified athletes. There were also lectures on the problems of kinesiology and tourism with elements of sports activities.
It is noteworthy that in March 2019, Vitaly Khramov, head of the department of sports disciplines, and Andrei Shpakov, head of the department of sports medicine and physical therapy, delivered lectures to students at a partner university from Biala Podlaski.
Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno develops cooperation with the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca
Representatives of Grodno State University visited Romania in the framework of the Erasmus + academic mobility program.
The leading specialist of the dean's office of the faculty of retraining of specialists from the Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining of Yanka Kupala State University Olga Yanushko and the leading specialist of International projects and academic mobility office of the Education Internationalization Centre Elena Zdanovich passed training at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca.
It is worth noting that Cluj-Napoca is the second largest city in Romania with a rich history and culture - is rightfully considered the center of student life. There are 6 state and 2 private universities in the city with extensive international connections, in which tens of thousands of students, including foreign students.
In framework of the visit, a discussion was held on the organization of educational and scientific work in two universities, the specifics of the higher education system in Romania and Belarus, and the specifics of organizing the educational process for foreign citizens. The prospects and opportunities for further cooperation in the field of educational and research activities of students and faculty of universities, issues of academic mobility and international cooperation on the Erasmus + program were considered.
Further, employees of Kupala University told Romanian colleagues about the possibilities of studying at Yanka Kupala State University, and also invited students of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca to take part in the Summer and Winter Schools of Yanka Kupala University.
In order to study the experience of commercialization of the achieved results and practice-oriented training at the University of Cluj-Napoca, Olga Yanushko and Elena Zdanovich visited educational, scientific and industrial complexes, laboratories and bases of university practice, a veterinary clinic working at the university, and also got acquainted with the system of remote training, the work of the Center for Continuing Education of the University, the Department of Teacher Training.
One of the results of the internship was an agreement to conclude a new interdepartmental agreement with the University of Art and Design of Cluj-Napoca with the aim of implementing the mobility of students and staff in the framework of the Erasmus + program.
Professor of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno visited the State Higher School of Informatics and Entrepreneurship in Lomza of the Republic of Poland
As part of the ERASMUS + program, Nina Kanunnikova, a professor at the Department of Technology, Physiology and Food Hygiene, exchanged experiences with Polish colleagues and lectures to students.
During a business visit, Professor Nina Kanunnikova spoke at the international scientific conference "Safety of herbal preparations used in the manufacture of food additives" with a report "Comparative activity of dietary supplements of natural origin and chemically synthesized additives."
In addition, she got acquainted with the equipment on which students perform laboratory work and gain skills in obtaining chips, biscuits, kneading and rolling dough, extracting individual components from food, obtaining juices, fruit and vegetable purees, conducting microbiological analysis of food, etc. She also gave lectures on the topic “The Role of Dietary Supplements in the Prevention of Chronic Diseases” for 3-year students of the specialty “Technology of food production” at the State Higher School of Informatics and Entrepreneurship in Lomza.
Philology faculty of Yanka Kupala State University expands cooperation with the University of Maribor, Slovenia
Olga Budenis, senior lecturer in the English Philology Department, visited the University of Maribor from 5 to 11 May as part of the academic mobility program Erasmus +.
During the meeting with students of the University of Maribor, the educational and scientific potential of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, as well as the Summer School of the Russian Language and the Summer School of the Belarusian Language and Culture 2019 were presented. Olga Budenis conducted classes for students of the first and second courses of the specialty “English philology” in the discipline “Practice of oral and written speech”, and gave a lecture “Teaching vocabulary” on the discipline “Methods of teaching English”.\
In addition, Olga Genrikhovna visited various classes of leading specialists of the university - Professor Victor Kennedy, Michel Gedpeil, Kirsten Hampkin, which made it possible to study modern methods of teaching philological disciplines.
The attention of the teacher was attracted to such subjects as the English movie class and Functional writing, the teaching experience of which Olga Genrikhovna is going to be introduced into the educational process at Kupala University.
During the visit, meetings were also held with Professor Melita Kukovets, Head of the Department of English and American Languages, Head of Translation, Professor Simon Zup, during which the parties exchanged experience in organizing the educational process and discussed prospects for further cooperation. It is planned that the parties will develop scientific publications and participate in international conferences.

Oksana Gavrilik, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Sociology and Special Sociological Disciplines, visited the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre (Portuguese Republic) as part of the Erasmus + academic mobility program.
The International Teachers' Week program for Lecturers in Portalegre included a presentation of higher education institutions. A total of 15 European universities were represented, including Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
The guests were introduced to the peculiarities of the organization of training and research at the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, the latest laboratories, the BioBIP business incubator, the Endogenous Resource Valorization Research Center, and the quality management system of the international relations department.
During the visit, Oksana Nikolayevna lecture for undergraduates of the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre and presented the Summer School for Foreign Students “Unknown Europe: History, Society and Culture of Belarus” conducted by the Department of History, Communication and Tourism. Delegation from Xi'an Jiaotong University on 8 April visited Yanka Kupala State University for the first time
Cooperation issues in the field of research and international student exchange were discussed at the meeting by the leadership of Yanka Kupala University with representatives of Xi'an Jiaotong University.
During the meeting, the guests were provided with information about the structure of the university, specialties and scientific developments. The deans of the faculties of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, the Faculty of Physics and Technology, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Innovative Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Civil Engineering told about possible areas of joint cooperation.
Colleagues from China presented the priority directions for the development of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Among them - energy, engineering, mathematical, physical science and others.
Mr. Sun Yusya, Acting Deputy Dean of the School of International Education, noted that Xi'an Jiaotong University is primarily interested in cooperating with Yanka Kupala State University in the field of scientific research, as well as in the joint preparation of students.
The Chinese side invited students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno to study at the Summer School of Chinese at Xi'an Jiaotong University, as well as for graduate studies. Within the framework of the academic exchange program “Erasmus +”, Viorel Bitang visited the faculty of physical education, a professor at the Department of Physical Education of the Aurel Vlaicu University in Arad (Romania).
A meeting was held with the leadership of the Faculty of Physical Education, as well as with representatives of the departments of sports disciplines and physical education and sport. The prospects for cooperation in the field of methodological and scientific activities were discussed. It is worth noting that the parties plan to prepare joint publications in journals from the databases of Web of Science, Scopus, and also to develop joint projects that are associated with the improvement of education in the field of physical culture and sports.
In addition, Professor Viorel Bitang conducted classes on the discipline "Swimming and teaching methods" for students of the Faculty of Physical Education, during which students learned about the technique of sports swimming, characterizing special exercises, with which you can improve the development of skills of performance paddle in various ways of swimming.
