A meeting with the Director General of the Belarusian-Chinese Cultural Development Center took place at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno
Yanka Kupala Grodno State University was visited by the Director General of the Belarusian-Chinese Cultural Development Center Wang Yaotian, who is also the founder of the Yaotian Educational Center. The purpose of the visit is to identify new vectors of cooperation.
From the Belarusian side, Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Iryna Kiturka, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Leonty Pavlov and representatives of interested departments took part in the working meeting. The main topic of the talks was joint educational programs and academic exchange of teachers and students. As Iryna Fedorovna noted, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is very interested in cooperation with higher educational institutions of the People's Republic of China. During the working meeting, the parties found common ground and the most promising areas of work.
By the way, the history of cooperation between Chinese universities and Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is extensive. Currently, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno implements an active international policy within the framework of 200 agreements with foreign institutions and organizations from 30 countries, including 9 organizations of the People's Republic of China.
Kupala students were trained at the "Summer University" in Yekaterinburg
From July 10 to 21, students and a teacher of the Faculty of Law took part in the project for international students "Summer University".
The federal project brought together more than 1,000 participants from 25 countries. For two weeks, students got acquainted with Russian education, science, history and culture. 19 leading Russian universities were involved in the "Summer University".
A trainee teacher of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Diana Zubrik, a 3rd-year student of the specialty "Jurisprudence" Daria Light and a 4th-year student of the specialty "Economic Law" Vladislava Bortnovskaya took part in the federal project for foreign students "Summer University" on the basis of the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin in Yekaterinburg.
Students were trained in the framework of the educational program "Internationalization of legal science in the EAEU space", teachers – in the educational program "Digital technologies and tools in the educational process of the university".
Kupala students got acquainted with the peculiarities of the educational process of the V.F. Yakovlev Ural Law University, listened to a course of lectures provided by educational programs for students and teachers, participated in the preparation and defense of projects.
The project of the team, which included Daria Light, became the winner in its educational course and was sent to the final defense among the best projects of the "Summer University".
Within the framework of the "Summer University", a meeting of the participants of the federal project with representatives of the Department for International Cooperation of the USGUU took place. During the educational events, Kupala residents managed to visit the Yeltsin Center, the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM and the educational cluster "Summer at the Factory" (Sysert). A sightseeing tour to the UMMC Museum of Military and Civil Equipment was organized for the project participants.
The Summer University plays an important role in strengthening friendship between students from different countries and allows them to expand their professional knowledge.
Russian language courses are held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno
Preparatory courses for foreign citizens are organized at the Faculty of Pre-university Training.
Every year, the interest of foreign citizens in studying at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is growing. In order for future specialists to easily communicate and study in their chosen specialty, the Faculty of pre-university training organized Russian language courses. Lilia Shumskaya, associate Professor of the Department of Modern Technologies of Pre-University Education, said that representatives from Asia, Africa, and Latin America come to study. Within the framework of the Faculty of pre-university training, they study the Russian language and those subjects that they will need in the process of further study in their chosen specialty. At the moment, 27 students of the preparatory department and 36 students of preparatory courses are studying at the university. It is worth noting that students who have basic knowledge of the Russian language can choose in-depth study.
– All conditions have been created at the Faculty of pre-university training so that students can receive a quality education and successfully realize themselves in the profession in the future. Our teachers use the entire material and technical base of the university, organize master classes, excursions, full-scale lessons, within the framework of which the mental activity of the listeners is activated and there is a complete immersion in the language environment, - said Lilia Shumskaya.
Students in the learning process are actively involved in the creation of educational and promotional videos. With these works in the future, they become participants in international and national competitions. This year we took part in five contests of this format and won two. All this creates favorable conditions for the adaptation of students to the educational environment of the university.
Aji Ndi Joseph, a student of the Russian language courses for foreign citizens of the Faculty of Pre-university Training, came from Cameroon.
– This year my dream came true, and for almost 7 months I have been a student of the preparatory department of the Faculty of Pre-university training of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. Here they teach to appreciate three things – words, time and opportunities. I use time wisely, words with literacy, and opportunities creatively to become a student of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in the future. After passing the final tests at the Faculty of Pre-university Training, I want to study at the Faculty of Economics and Management in order to become an advanced specialist and open my own business in the Republic of Belarus.

On July 22, Kupala University was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People's Republic of China Yuri Senko, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Shanghai Andrey Andreev.
The guests of the university were met in the foyer of the first floor by the rector of Kupala University Iryna Kiturka and the first vice-rector Aleksander Karevsky. The rector conducted a sightseeing tour of the university.
Dean of the Faculty of Law Svetlana Cheburanova, Dean of the Pedagogical Faculty Yury Gnezdovsky, Acting Head of the Educational and Methodological Department Daria Shpak, Acting Head of the Department of International Cooperation Anna Miloshevskaya participated in the discussion of issues of cooperation in the field of education of the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China. The event was attended by Alexander Komendant, Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee.
Rector Iryna Kiturka addressed the guests with a welcoming speech, which set the tone for the meeting. Iryna Fedorovna noted that Yanka Kupala Grodno State University of Grodno is open to new possible ways of cooperation with China in the field of education. In recent years, Kupala University and educational institutions of the People's Republic of China have been actively cooperating in the exchange of students and teachers, conducting joint research, organizing conferences and seminars.
Cooperation between Kupala University and China allows students and teachers to exchange knowledge and experience, broaden their horizons and improve the level of professional training. In addition, such interaction contributes to the strengthening of cultural ties between the two countries and the formation of a positive image of each other.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People's Republic of China Yury Senko noted that Belarus and China are actively developing economic, cultural and political relations, which is an important element of international cooperation. One of the promising areas of cooperation between China and Belarus is the development of trade and investment. According to Yury Senko, China is a reliable trading partner of Belarus, as well as one of the largest investors in the country's economy. Both sides are actively working to strengthen economic ties, expand trade exchange and attract new investments.
During the meeting, another promising area was discussed − the development of scientific and technical cooperation. Belarus and China have great potential in the field of science and technology, and cooperation in this field can lead to the creation of new innovative products.
The development of cultural ties is also relevant. Both Powers have a rich cultural and historical heritage, which can be used to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
During the visit of the heads of the diplomatic representatives of the Republic of Belarus to China, the scientific and educational experience and potential of Kupala University were presented, the possibilities of studying undergraduate and graduate programs, postgraduate studies, as well as opportunities to participate in scientific and educational events were presented.
It is worth noting that currently Yanka Kupala State State University of Grodno implements an active international policy within the framework of 200 agreements with foreign institutions and organizations from 31 countries, including 12 organizations of the People's Republic of China and educational institutions, cooperation with which was established back in 2001, when the first cooperation agreement was signed with the Chinese South-Central University of Economics and Law. To this end, the university implements a strategy for the development of cooperation with China in the field of education, which is an integral part of the overall strategy of the university – the strategy of advanced development.
Kupala students became finalists of the video contest "Speak Russian, I understand!"
Russian Russian as a Foreign Language Department of the Institute of International Cooperation of Penza State University was the organizer of the International Competition in Russian for foreign students "Creativity unites the world!".
Students and graduates of the Faculty of Pre-university training Shuai Jinjun and Francisco Ruiz became finalists of the video contest "Speak Russian, I understand!".
The international competition in Russian for international students "Creativity unites the world!" was held from May 16 to May 19, 2023. Representatives from 18 countries of the world were able to take part, these are students of Russian and foreign universities studying in various fields of training.
The competition included two independent directions and provided an opportunity to choose one of the forms of participation — oral or written. The main condition is that the materials sent to the competition had to be in Russian.
The first form of participation was a video contest "Speak Russian, I understand!". The contestants had to record and send to the address of the organizing committee a video where they talk about their native country, city and university.
The second form of participation is the essay contest "I like Russian!". Participants who speak Russian at the B2-C2 level were invited to speculate on the topic ""Language is the history of the people. Language is the path of civilization and culture": as I understand the statement of the Russian writer A. I. Kuprin."

Kupala students have completed their studies in Uzbekistan
Students of the Faculty of Law were trained at the Tashkent State Law University as part of academic mobility.
In the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, third-year students of the specialty "International Law" of the Faculty of Law Maria Bystrova, Eulalia Berezkina, Maria Shcherbakova and Daria Prepest studied at the Faculty of Comparative Law and International Law at TSLU.
The training took place on the basis of a cooperation agreement between Kupala University and Tashkent State Law University within the framework of academic mobility.
In addition to training, Kupala residents conducted active scientific and social activities. The students took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Copyright Protection in Social Networks", which was held on the basis of TSLU together with the Moscow State Law Academy named after O.E. Kutafin, as well as in the meeting of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights F. The Turk.
Together with other foreign students, the girls took part in an excursion along the Tashkent-Samarkand route, during which they expanded their knowledge of the history of the formation of Uzbekistan, and also learned about the traditions of the Uzbek people.

Kupala students became participants of the International Youth Search Forum "Battle of Rzhev
Students of the Yanka Kupala State University among the members of the Belarusian delegation took an active part in the International Youth Search Forum "Battle of Rzhev".
The Rzhevskaya Battle International Youth Search Forum is an educational and educational project implemented in the format of two specialized field shifts for representatives of youth aged 18 to 25 years who are not involved in civil and patriotic education activities from the subjects of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus in the number of 500 people.
Kupala University was represented by students of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism Maxim Chugunov and Alina Lunevskaya, students of the Faculty of Law Olga Chulada and Alyona Kanaeva, student of the Faculty of Economics and Management Danila Orshak.
The Forum provides a platform for young people from different countries who can exchange knowledge, experience and ideas in the field of historical research. The Youth Search Forum promotes the formation of a correct civic position among young people based on respect for history. Among the forum's tasks: organization of practice-oriented events on the study of the history of the Great Patriotic War, exchange of best practices in the field of volunteerism and experience in organizing events aimed at preserving the common history, traditions, cultural values of the "Russian World", creation of a community of youth leaders, strengthening youth diplomacy.
The project included the reconstruction of a field camp on the site of real battles in 1942 - 1943, the organization of search expeditions to the battlefields of the "Battle of Rzhev" with the participation of specialists involved, the military-historical reconstructions of the "Battle of the village of Kokoshkino" using authentic uniforms and exact copies of weapons of the war years, military sports team games "Rzhevsky Soldier", conducting youth seminars, game workshops, interactive lectures from specialists from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus in the field of history, youth leadership, diplomacy, volunteerism.
− I didn't expect it to be so cool! Various thematic events were prepared for us − military medical training, search trips, reconstruction of the battle near the village of Kokoshkino, airsoft, various sports events. I liked the initial military training the most − I tested my strength and endurance. I am very grateful to the organizers of the forum and the BRSM for the opportunity," said Alyona Kanaeva, a law student.
The student told that on the last day of the forum she took part in the action "Memory Tape". At the Rzhev Memorial, the participants unfurled a majestic St. George
ribbon 300 meters long. The Belarusian delegation laid flowers at the monument to the fallen heroes of the Great Patriotic War. The girl was left under a vivid impression of the complex of events and will gladly take part in the forum next year.
Cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the field of history has great potential for development. This can help expand our knowledge of the past, strengthen cultural ties and develop tourism and education. It is important to continue to maintain dialogue between the two countries in this area in order to achieve mutual benefit and progress.
Yanka Kupala State University students have completed their studies in Hungary
The students of the Faculty of Economics and Management returned to their alma mater after studying during the academic year under the academic mobility program in Hungary.
According to the results of the competitive selection, 3rd-year students of the specialty "World Economy" Polina Filipchuk and Kristina Lapitskaya were sent to study in the 2022/2023 academic year in the city of Gyor, St. Stephen's University under the program "Stipendium Hungaricum".
The girls were enrolled as students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in the specialty "International Relations". Their chosen program of study in International Relations (Bachelor's degree) is an interdisciplinary and flexible program of study in English, which combines a wide range of courses in international relations, history, politics and world economy. In addition, this program helps students analyze complex issues and present arguments in a clear and concise form, which helped students to expand their communication skills.
During their studies, Polina and Kristina studied "World Economy", "International Economic Law", "Negotiation", "Intercultural Communication", "Academic Writing", "Methods of Social Research" and a number of other disciplines.
In accordance with the conditions of the Stipendium Hungaricum program, the students attended the course "Hungarian language and Culture", which allowed them to find understanding when communicating with local residents and deepen their knowledge about the history, traditional dishes and holidays of Hungary. Thus, the university organized mentoring groups for incoming students, which included students from various countries and one Hungarian representative. With the help of a native-speaking student, adaptation to new living conditions and learning a foreign language took place in an easier and more comfortable atmosphere. Within the framework of the subject "Hungarian language and culture", various interactive events, movie evenings, as well as excursions were held. Thanks to this, the girls passed the oral and written exams in the Hungarian language with "excellent".
Students of the Faculty of Economics and Management during their studies at St. Stephen's University took an active part in various scientific and educational events, open lectures and seminars. According to Polina Filipchuk, she was impressed by the meetings with representatives of the diplomatic corps and visiting professors, where students learned about the directions and trends in the development of international relations and their impact on the economy.
During the educational process, our students managed to attend events dedicated to Hungarian culture and traditions. They attended an evening of traditional Hungarian
cuisine, where they acquired skills in making one of the most famous Hungarian dishes "Gulyás". An excursion program around the city of Gyor was organized for all students enrolled in the academic mobility program. The evening of visiting the Hungarian State Opera House left vivid impressions.
– This year will undoubtedly be imprinted in our memory. We have gained valuable experience, gained new knowledge necessary for professional growth. The training was filled with adventures and travels, knowledge of a new culture and the acquisition of new friends, – shared Kristina Lapitskaya.
