The International Summer Law School on Anti-Corruption Policy has started at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno
From June 23 to 27, the International Summer Law School "Anti-Corruption Policy: Modern Legal Regulation and Implementation Mechanism" is being held at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The educational project is organized by the Higher School of Economics, Management, and Law of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov in collaboration with the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Criminalistics at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
On the first day, Elena Ivanova, Assistant to the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Director of the Higher School of Economics, Management and Law of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor Ekaterina Sazanova, Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Svetlana Cheburanova, and Rimma Klyuchko, Head of the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Head of the Methodological Work and Monitoring Department of the Anti-Corruption Department of the Administration of the Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region and the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region Nikita Abakumov, Deputy Director of the Higher School of Economics, Management and Law for International Cooperation at the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Irina Ershova, Head of the Department of International Education of the Office of International Cooperation Ekaterina Shiman.
The scientific director of the school, Nadezhda Chertova, introduced the participants to the program. She emphasized that the school provides a unique opportunity for students and professionals to share their experiences and knowledge, which is particularly relevant in the face of global challenges related to corruption.
After the official opening, an interactive bibliokviz called "Neither Give nor Take" was held. Participants actively responded to questions based on literary works and films, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of the issues surrounding corruption and its impact on society. This format of interaction encourages critical thinking while discussing complex topics in a relaxed environment.
In the afternoon, the participants attended introductory lectures on project work. They learned about various methods, such as mock trials and business games, which help them apply their theoretical knowledge in practice. These activities not only enhance teamwork skills but also prepare students for real-world legal challenges.
The school's activities focus on a comprehensive comparative study of Russian and Belarusian anti-corruption practices. This study encompasses both legal aspects and practical measures to effectively combat corruption. Lectures and seminars conducted by experienced professionals will provide participants with the opportunity to not only gain theoretical knowledge, but also learn about successful practices that can be applied in their future professional activities.
The International Summer Law School will serve as a platform for in-depth study of anti-corruption policies and the creation of a network of professional contacts, which will undoubtedly contribute to the development of legal awareness and a responsible approach to corruption among young people.

The forum "Youth of Russia and Belarus – Heirs of the Great Victory and the Future of the Union State" is taking place from June 25 to 27 in Nizhny Novgorod. Over 700 people will participate in the plenary session.
On June 26, the Rector of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Irina Kiturko, met with the Rector of the Nizhny Novgorod State Engineering and Economic University, Anatoly Shamin, and Vasily Kozlov the Director of the Branch of the Nizhny Novgorod State Engineering and Economic University, the Institute of Food Technologies and Design.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the prospects for cooperation between the universities, focusing on joint research projects and student exchange.
After the business part of the meeting, the participants were given a tour of the institute's campus, where they were introduced to the institute's modern equipment and educational programs.

At the XII Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, "Young People of Belarus and Russia – Heirs of the Great Victory and the Future of the Union State," Rector of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Irina Kiturko, signed important agreements on international cooperation with three leading universities.
The first agreement was signed with the Linguistics University of Nizhny Novgorod named after N.A. Dobrolyubov. The agreement was signed by Irina Kiturko, Rector of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, and Nikita Avralev, Current Rector of the Linguistics University of Nizhny Novgorod named after N.A. Dobrolyubov. This collaboration will open up new opportunities for the exchange of experience, joint research, and educational programs between the two institutions.

The signing of these agreements took place during the seventh session "The Youth Policy of the Union State as a Reliable Foundation for the Demographic Development of Russia and Belarus." The forum participants discussed the importance of youth policy and its impact on the future of the two countries.
These agreements will serve as a basis for further development of cooperation and strengthening of ties between Belarusian and Russian universities, as well as provide the stimulation for the implementation of new educational and scientific projects.
The conversation with the Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Tambov State University named after G.R.Derzhavin, was also held. During the discussion, key areas of cooperation were discussed, including the exchange of students and teachers, joint research and projects, and much more.
The negotiations resulted in the signing of a Roadmap for cooperation between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Tambov State University named after G.R.Derzhavin. This roadmap includes specific steps for implementing joint initiatives, such as holding conferences, seminars, and cultural events, which will facilitate the exchange of experience and knowledge.
The Faculty of History, Communication, and Tourism hosted the defense of master's theses by Chinese students specializing in Journalism (Media Management) with English as the language of education
Students from the People's Republic of China studying in the field of Journalism (Media Management) successfully defended their dissertations. The students arrived at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in the autumn of 2025 and completed the program of the specialty during the academic year, preparing master's studies under the guidance of experienced professors of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism.
Many of the Chinese students had already gained experience working in the media, press services, and corporate communications departments in their home country, which influenced the choice of topics for their master's theses. According to the members of the state examination committee, which included Yuri Karnelovich, the Head of the Grodno TV and Radio Company, and Zoya Telesh, Chief Specialist of the Department of Media Relations, Religious Affairs, and Nationalities at the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, the topics of the theses were highly practical and focused on addressing current issues. The master's students' research focused on the role of the media in shaping the historical memory of Chinese youth, the development strategies of Chinese media corporations, the influence of social media on the formation of media images of young people in China and Belarus, the representation of traditional culture in Chinese travel blogs, and others.
According to Inna Minchuk, Head of the Department of Journalism, during the academic year, the department not only organized high-quality teaching of English-language disciplines, but also conducted a number of excursions for students to Belarusian media outlets, introducing them to the historical landmarks of the city and the country. In May, a trip to the Nesvizh and Mir Castles was organized, allowing foreign students to gain a deeper understanding of Belarusian history.
The first graduation of Chinese students who received their master's degree in Journalism (Media Management) with English as their language of educatuon at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno will take place on Friday, June 27.
For the 5th time, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was awarded the «Prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for Achievements in Quality»
This decision was made by the Commission for Awarding the Government of the Republic of Belarus Prize for Quality Achievements for 2024.
The competition for the Government of the Republic of Belarus Quality Award has been held annually since 1999 and is the most prestigious project in the national quality competition movement. It recognizes the leadership of Belarusian organizations that have developed their strategies and tactics based on quality, and ensures that their achievements are recognized at the national level. The participants of the competition take into account the modern principles and ideas embodied in the Government Quality Award model, demonstrating their mastery of effective management techniques, high performance, and sustainable development.
As a reminder, the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was awarded the Government of the Republic of Belarus the Prize for Quality Achievements for the first time in 2010, and then in 2015, 2018, and 2021, it confirmed its status as a laureate of this competition.
Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno - the winner of the online Telegram channel contest “Telegram Time”
On May 26 the results of the online contest of Telegram channels of educational institutions "Telegram Time", organised by Minsk City Institute for Education Development, were summed up. The aim of the contest was to improve the quality of information support of current events in the educational space. 105 participants from different parts of Belarus, including Vitebsk, Grodno, Minsk, Mozyr, Dzerzhinsk, Danilovichi and other cities and towns, fought for the victory.

The path to a sustainable future: students of YKSUG are trained at the International Summer School "Ecoengineering"
From 19 to 30 May, sophomores of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Karina Malinovskaya and Viktorya Grigench take part in the International Summer School "Ecoengineering" on the basis of Industrial University of Tyumen. This unique event is aimed at developing research skills and scientific communication among student youth.
The Summer School "Ecoengineering" promotes the formation of an environmentally-oriented position among the participants, giving them the opportunity to study global environmental programmes and develop proposals for the implementation of the environmental component of sustainable development. The main goal of the school is to develop skills of project and research activities in the field of environmental and industrial safety, as well as to identify the intellectual potential of students and create conditions for their self-realisation.
During the programme, participants attend open lectures by leading experts in the field of green economy, as well as take part in master classes that help them get acquainted with promising research and innovative developments at IUT. The knowledge and skills acquired will help our students not only in their studies, but also in the future, to make a meaningful contribution to sustainable development and environmental protection.
«The Kupala Projects 2025» is the International Distance Learning Marathon, which invites you to participate in the testing of network products
«The Kupala Projects 2025» International distance learning marathon started at Yanka Kupala State University on February 10 and will end on August 30. Teachers, methodologists, librarians, teachers of additional education, professors, students, and pupils will be able to test the projects created by the marathon participants.
The marathon is aimed at training teachers and students in the technologies for creating educational network projects and web quests, and is based on the rich experience gained in developing teachers' professional competencies during the «Kupala Projects» educational marathons in 2016-2024.
The international distance training "Spring Session" is aimed at conducting public and professional expertise of network projects and web quests created by marathon participants, improving ICT competence and mastering modern interdisciplinary, including distance education, technologies.
The projects will be tested in two stages: from May 12 till June 1 and from May 19 till June 8. The results of the testing will be announced on June 23. All participants will receive electronic certificates from the organizers. Registration of participants of the second approbation is currently underway and will last until May 18.
The list of projects created as part of the marathon includes developments by teachers and students of Yanka Kupala State University, as well as other higher educational institutions. Among them are the network project «Learning through the Past», author Utkir Yuldoshev, head of the Department of Pedagogy of the Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimiya (Uzbekistan), the web quest «Career Strategy», authors Natalia Ovcharuk and Lyubov Karabanova, associate professors of the Department of Digital Technologies and Design of the Engineering and Technology Institute of the Khakass State University of N.F. Katanova.
