Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is the second among Belarusian universities in the "THE University Impact Rankings 2024" ranking
Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took the second position among higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus in the rating "THE University Impact Rankings 2024".
THE University Impact Rankings is one of the largest studies that make up THE (Times Higher Education) ranking. It has been operating since 2019 and is designed to assess the degree to which universities have achieved the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno ranks 1001st out of 1,500 in the world Impact Rankings 2024, the second place among higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus.

For reference: The Impact Rankings 2024 includes 2,152 universities from 125 countries (2023 – 1,591 from 112 countries; in 2022 – 1,406 HEIs from 106 countries, in 2021 – 1,117 from 94 countries).
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings is the only global performance rating in which universities are evaluated according to the Sustainable Development Goals (hereinafter – SDGs) The United Nations.

On Wednesday, June 12, the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno received an official visit from a partner delegation of Xinjiang Pedagogical University.
During the meeting, Dean of the Faculty Viktor Belozorovich presented the retrospective exhibition "Faculty yesterday, today, tomorrow", as well as the exhibition "Archeology", where he presented scientific research by faculty staff and students.
Then Svetlana Adamovich, Head of the Department of Intercultural Communication Translation, Head of the Confucius Cabinet, told the partners about studying Chinese language and culture at the faculty and at the university.

Intercultural Youth Dialogue Platform of National Diasporas “Together We Are United!” at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno
Today, on June 7, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted the Intercultural Youth Dialogue Platform of National Diasporas “Together We Are United!”. The event was attended by more than 100 students of different nationalities from three higher educational institutions of Grodno region - Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Grodno State Medical University and Grodno State Agrarian University.
Today the Festival of National Cultures started in Grodno. The Festival is a holiday of folklore diversity, which unites everyone by the noble idea of goodness and peace, by the burning desire to share the treasures of national art, to touch its most intimate sources again and again.
It is symbolic that the dialog platform “Together We Are United!” was held on the first day of the big event. The intercultural youth dialog platform of national diasporas is a unique initiative aimed at developing mutual understanding, respect and tolerance between students of different nationalities. It creates a unique opportunity for young people of different cultures and nationalities to meet, exchange experience, knowledge and ideas, and deepen their understanding of the diversity and richness of cultural heritage.
Alexander Lukyanau, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, noted that Belarus is the common home of many peoples of different ethnic and confessional backgrounds. And the festival in Grodno every time confirms the importance of spiritual and moral values, is an example of unity of people of different nationalities, opens new opportunities for cultural dialog, teaches the younger generation to respect folk origins and to protect the precious heritage.
During the event, the participants engaged in an open and lively dialog, during which various aspects of intercultural interaction, cultural heritage and linguistic diversity were discussed. Participants shared their stories, traditions, languages and customs, which helped them to better understand and appreciate the cultural diversity around them.
“Intercultural dialogue plays an important role in today's world. It helps us to understand and respect the differences between cultures, broadens our horizons and opens up new opportunities for cooperation and exchange of ideas. We realize that the world is made up not only of our own culture, but also of many other unique cultures that deserve to be respected and preserved. We learn to appreciate and preserve our heritage, and we are open to new ideas and views”, said Ramesh Jafarov, a 4th year student of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism of YKSUG.
The intercultural youth dialog platform also provided an opportunity to establish new ties and create long-term partnerships between students from different universities. Youth actively exchanged contacts, ideas and proposals for joint projects that can promote intercultural cooperation and understanding.
The dialog platform proved to be a successful and inspiring event. It demonstrated that young people are ready to work actively to create a harmonious and multinational society based on mutual understanding, respect and tolerance.

Igor Martynenko, Head of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure, made a plenary report at the VII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Problems of interaction between public and private Law in the regulation of economic relations". This event was organized by the Ural State University of Economics in Yekaterinburg.
The topic of Professor Igor Martynenko's plenary report was an important legal aspect: "Legal protection of historical truth and memory in the common cultural heritage." In his speech, the professor shared his knowledge and experience in the field of legal protection of historical memory, discussed topical issues and challenges faced by modern society.
During his visit to Yekaterinburg, Professor Igor Martynenko also held a meeting with students of the USUE Institute of State, Municipal Management and Law. YKSUG residents take part in the III International Youth Environmental Education Forum of the Union State
Students of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology Ksenia Shakun and Gleb Shilko, accompanied by their supervisor, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology Olga Kremleva, take part in the lll International Youth Environmental Educational Forum of the Union State on the basis of the Belarusian State Technological University.
The delegation has already managed to get acquainted with the activities of the Forestry Faculty and specialized departments of the University. In the future, kupalovites will have a rich program! This is a presentation of their environmental strategies, practical work, and master classes. The forum participants will also be able to get acquainted with the environmental educational and scientific programs of BSTU, communicate with leading scientists of the university, get acquainted with their peers from other Belarusian and Russian universities. The forum is attended by 40 representatives of 13 universities of Belarus and Russia.
A special feature of the forum is its holding on the territory of a natural object – the Negorelsky Educational and Experimental forestry, which is part of the university and is a unique educational, practical and research center.
The cultural and educational program of the forum includes holding a competition for the title of “Best Hunter” on the basis of the NUOLH electronic shooting range, visiting the Museum of the Great Patriotic War as part of the Minsk − Hero City tour, and a number of other events.

The signing of an agreement between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Qingdao College of Preschool Education on the implementation of a joint project in the specialty "Preschool Education" took place during the visit of the Kupala delegation to the People's Republic of China.
The signing of this agreement represents an important step in the development of educational cooperation between educational institutions. It opens up new opportunities for students and teachers of YKSUG and Qingdao College of Preschool Education, facilitating the exchange of experience and knowledge in the field of preschool pedagogy.
The joint project will be aimed at developing educational programs, conducting joint research and exchanging students and teachers between the university and the college. The concluded agreement confirms the desire of the parties to cooperate. The delegation of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno headed by Rector Iryna Kiturka is in China on a working visit. The delegation also included Liavontsi Paulau, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Wang Tao, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Translation and Intercultural Communication.
An important part of the working trip was a visit of Iryna Kiturka to the Forum of the Chinese-Belarusian Association of Universities – 2024, which is being held at the Dalian Polytechnic University. The forum was opened by Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets and Deputy Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China Chen Jie. Iryna Kiturka made a presentation on the topic «Design and implementation of regional partnership: experience and prospects of cooperation between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and educational institutions of the People's Republic of China».
Following the results of the Forum of the Chinese-Belarusian Association of Universities, 30 negotiations were held with the participation of 60 universities, 12 agreements on cooperation between universities of Belarus and China were signed, as well as a plan for the implementation of flagship projects for 2024-2025.

A delegation of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong is visiting Grodno. The main purpose of the visit was the development of interregional and trade and economic ties, innovative cooperation, and the establishment of relations in the field of culture and tourism. During the visit, the Ambassador visited Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and have a conversation with Chinesse students who study at our university.
Cooperation between the Grodno region and the provinces of China has been developing for many years. The Grodno Region has signed agreements on interregional cooperation with two regions of the People's Republic of China. The first one was signed in 2007 with Gansu Province. Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno contributes to the development of relations between the two countries and actively establishes ties with educational institutions of the People's Republic of China. Now, YKSUG is implementing more than two dozen agreements on international cooperation with universities and colleges of the People's Republic of China.
Xie Xiaoyong visited Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno for the first time, and according to good tradition, a tour of the university was conducted for the guest. The first vice-rector of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno invited the distinguished guest to a meeting with Kupala residents, who directly provide the educational process to Chinese students. During the conversation, Alexandr Karevskiy spoke about the scientific and educational potential of the university, about the most significant achievements, and assured that all foreign students feel at home and receive not only high-quality knowledge. They are surrounded by warmth and care, enriched spiritually and culturally.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus noted that he had visited many educational institutions in various countries, but YKSUG found something to surprise him with:

She speaks about your respect and reverent attitude towards the teachers and the history of the university. It is nice to know that our students study at a university that has so many achievements, as well as actively cooperates with educational institutions in China. It is especially symbolic that now your rector Iryna Kiturka is in China on a working visit.
