The trainings were conducted from 12 to 16 July 2021. The working language was English. There were discussed topics in basic methods for measuring radiation, nuclear-physical methods for compositional analysis, principles of operation of equipment for radiochemical analysis and dosimeter tests, etc. The trainings have successfully combined not only theoretical but also practical parts: representatives of the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, Professor Ulrich Scherer and Dr. Lotta Lens, demonstrated the performance of laboratory tests.

The trainees also had a unique opportunity to meet Felix Sassen, a representative of Westinghouse Electric Germany GmbH, which is an independent European subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. Westinghouse Electric Company LLC is the world's leading supplier of safe, innovative nuclear technology and is shaping the future of carbon-free energy. Felix Sassen shared the company's experience in the field of safety analysis of operating radiation equipment, nuclear reactors, as well as the possible impact of nuclear power on the environment.

Representatives from Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno were Natalia Valko, Associate Professor of the Department of General Physics, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Natalia Strekal, Professor of the Department of General Physics, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, and Alexander Maskevich, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of General Physics, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics.

This international online internship and the gained pioneering expertise will contribute to the design of a master's program in the field of radiation safety, which will be developed and implemented by the Belarusian partners of the project, thereby increasing the qualification of graduates not only in Grodno, but throughout the country.
