An employee of the Yanka Kupala State University o Grodno took part in a meeting of the Information and Analytical Legal Center of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.

A meeting of the Information and Analytical Legal Center of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly was held in St. Petersburg. The meeting was attended by the Head of the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the Faculty of Law Rimma Klyuchko.

Among a number of topics, the participants noted the problem of information and psychological security. Rimma Nikolaevna suggested that the Expert Advisory Council under the Council of the CSTO PA develop a concept that could actually reflect strategic directions in terms of ensuring information and psychological security.

– The next stage for the implementation of this Concept may be specific Recommendations. They have already been adopted and are currently being developed by the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. For example, Recommendations on countering the rehabilitation of Nazism and the humiliation of military veterans, – said Rimma Nikolaevna.

At the meeting in St. Petersburg, experts focused on the fact that modern destructive informational influences are aimed at changing the cultural code of the nation and should be criminally punishable.

Kupala students became prize-winners of the international volleyball tournament dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Higher School of Physical Culture and Sports of the I. Kant BFU

The tournament was held from March 27 to March 29 at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. Our team took the third place. Ulyana Abramovich, a 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Physical Culture of Yanka Kupala Grodno State University, was recognized as the best player of the tournament. Congratulations to our athletes on a successful performance!

By the way, Kupala University has a long-term successful history of cooperation with the Immanuel Kant BFU in the scientific, educational, cultural, and sports spheres. For example, the team of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University has been participating in the International Volleyball Tournament among women's teams for the Yanka Kupala Rector's Cup since 2016.

Professor of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno gave lectures at the Kokand Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimi

Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Social Work Viktor Tarantey conducted 32 hours of lectures for students of Kokand Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimi in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the visit, issues of expanding cooperation between partner universities, including joint educational programs, were discussed. Mutually beneficial work will continue, because the exchange of experience allows us to enrich the experience of partner universities.

By the way, an agreement has been signed and is in effect with the Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimi on joint educational programs for training specialists with higher education of the first stage in four specialties: "Applied Mathematics", "Bioecology", "Psychology" and "Fine Arts and Computer Graphics".

A cooperation program for 2023 has been signed between the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and the Ural Humanitarian Institute.

Dean of the Faculty of History of Communication and Tourism Viktor Belozorovich, Head of the Department of History of Belarus, Archeology and Special Historical Disciplines Sergey Pivovarchik, Head of the Department of Journalism Inna Minchuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Yulia Ermak are on a visit to the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin.

During the visit, representatives of  Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno take part in the international scientific forum "The phenomenon of the frontier of civilizations, cultures, roads, tourist destinations", which takes place within the framework of the annual Ural Federal University International Convention.

On the first working day of the visit, business meetings were held with the Ural Federal University administration. Dean of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism Viktor Belozorovich and Director of the Ural Humanitarian Institute Elvira Simanyuk signed a cooperation program for 2023.

Teachers of  Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno will give lectures to students of the Faculty of History and the Faculty of Journalism of Ural Federal University on March 16.

The teacher of the Yanka Kupala State State University of Grodno took part in the first interregional Forum of territorial election commissions

Associate Professor of the Department of International Law Lilia Abramchik, as part of the Belarusian delegation headed by the Secretary of the Central Election Commission Elena Baldovskaya, took part in the First Interregional Forum of Territorial Election Commissions, which was held in Pskov (Russian Federation).

The purpose of the forum was to exchange experience in the preparation and conduct of election campaigns, including the study of the use of information technology in the electoral process.

The Belarusian delegation met with the leadership of the Election Commission of the Pskov region, and also took part in the plenary part of the forum, during which the Secretary of the Central Election Commission Elena Baldovskaya told about the electoral system of the Republic of Belarus and innovations in electoral legislation. Chairman of the CEC of Russia Ella Pamfilova, taking part in the forum via video conference, thanked the Belarusian delegation for participation and exchange of experience in all areas of cooperation.

The forum was attended by representatives of election commissions of twelve regions of Russia.

Yanka presented the university at the international scientific and practical conference "Comparative historical and philological studies in the era of globalization" at the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin (Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation).

Representatives of the Faculty of Philology Svetlana Gonchar, Lilia Kovaleva, Zhanna Korotkevich, Elena Sheiko took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Comparative Historical and Philological research in the era of globalization", held within the framework of the International Convention of the Ural Humanitarian Institute-2023 at the Ural Federal University named after the First President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin (Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation Federation) March 17-18, 2023.

Online reports were presented at the section "Translation as intercultural communication. New types and possibilities of translation at the present stage", which reflect the current issues of training future translators in the context of the idea of intercultural dialogue and socio-cultural aspects of translating literary works of Belarusian classics into English.

The invitation to participate in the event was received following a visit to the Department of English Philology by Doctor of Philology, Professor Olga Grigoryevna Sidorova in the spring of 2022 as part of the "Visiting Professor" program.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno signed an Agreement of cooperation with Mamun University, the Republic of Uzbekistan

The subject of the Agreement is cooperation between the Parties in the field of science and education, as well as in the use of best practices and introduction of scientific research results into the teaching process, establishment of academic, scientific and cultural relations, development of scientific potential and provision of high quality professional training of specialists.

This agreement provides for exchange of research experience and scientific information concerning research and academic activities, exchange of experience in organization of educational process.

Organization of joint scientific research, implementation of joint research and development projects and programs is planned. Implementation of research traineeships, teaching staff qualification upgrade in the areas of mutual interest is also envisaged.

A delegation of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took part in the XV Congress of the Euroasian Universities Association

The congress was attended by rectors and vice-rectors of the member universities from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and other countries. Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Iryna Kiturka and Director of the Scientific Library Mikalai Hrynko took part in the event. 

An essential part of the program was the discussion of a general agenda in the field of science and education with the administration of other interuniversity associations in the Eurasian space as well as the representatives of the academic communities of Vietnam, India, Jordan, Iran, China, Mongolia, Oman, Serbia, Syria, Montenegro and other countries.

During the Congress, development trends of the Association in the modern world, steps and actions aiming at the expanding and deepening of ties between universities in the Eurasian space were determined. 26 new universities decided to join the Association. Iryna Kiturka was actively engaged in the work of the congress, established contacts with the participants and discussed prospective areas of cooperation.

On March 2, Cooperation Agreements with St Petersburg University, P.G. Demidov Yaroslavl State University, Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov were signed. Joint work in various areas will allow parties to mutually enrich scientific and educational experience.

Iryna Kiturka and Mikalai Hrynko visited the Center of Belarusian language, literature and culture of the Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University. The Rector presented scientific literature and fiction in Belarusian language to the Center. The delegation of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno held talks with the administration of MSU`s Faculty of Philology, during which promising areas of cooperation and the involvement of foreign citizens in joint events were discussed. Furthermore, Mikalai Hrynko, coordinator of the Center of Belarusian language, literature and culture conducted workshops in Belarusian language, along with lectures in the history of Belarusian literature for the students of the Centers` Belarusian language courses.

The Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted the International Poetry Bridge

A poetic teleconference between Lomonosov Moscow State University and Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took place at the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism under the auspices of "Towards the Mother Tongue Day".

The teleconference was organized at the suggestion of the Department of Translation and Intercultural Communication as part of the implementation of the Roadmap for cooperation between Lomonosov Moscow State University and universities of the Republic of Belarus.

The active participants of the teleconference were students of the specialty "Linguistic support of intercultural communications" and students of the Philological Faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University, where the Center for Belarusian Language, Literature and Culture, created jointly with Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, has been operating for more than five years.

Viktor Belozorovich, Dean of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism, Galina Kedrova, Deputy Dean for International Relations of the Faculty of Philology of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Head of the Center for New Information Technologies in Humanitarian Education, Alla Sheshken, Professor of the Department of Slavic Philology, Head of the Center for Belarusian Language, Literature and culture.

The teleconference featured poetic works in Russian and Belarusian: poems by Sergei Yesenin, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Yanka Kupala, Yakub Kolas, Ryhor Borodulin, Vladimir Korotkevich, Sergei Grakhovsky, Neil Gilevich, Anton Kelmutz, sonnets by Maxim Bogdanovich, Kondrat Krapiva's fable, Arkady Kuleshov's ballad. It is important that all participants from Lomonosov Moscow State University read works in the Belarusian language.

The participants of the teleconference were particularly interested in the author's works and translations. Valeria Karayeva, a student of Lomonosov Moscow State University, read Sergey Chavain's poem "Oto" ("Grove") in Mari and accompanied it with a translation into Russian. Students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno offered translations of poems by Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov, Sergei Yesenin, Vladimir Nabokov into Belarusian. Student of the Moscow State University named after M. V. Lomonosova Lyubov Vinokurova read Yanka Kupala's poem "Zasvyatsila tsyaplo..." in the original and in her proposed translation into Czech.

Antonina Nuretdinova, senior lecturer of the Department of Translation and Intercultural Communication, read her author's works in Russian, and Gleb Klimanov, a student of Lomonosov Moscow State University, presented his poem in Belarusian.

The emotional performances of the participants did not leave anyone indifferent. Summing up, the participants unanimously noted that such events contribute to strengthening mutual understanding between students of the two countries and the development of fruitful cooperation between universities.
