Construction of a new building of Science and Technology Park of Yanka Kupala State University is progressing at a fast pace

With the commissioning of the second stage of the Science and Technology Park, resident companies expect to significantly expand their capabilities.
Sergey Puzako, chief engineer of JSC "Grodnopromstroy", said that active construction work is under way at the facility since the end of last year. According to the project, approximately one million Belarusian rubles are used every month. The total cost of the object is about 13 million.

– In fact, the work has been going on for only three months, but much has already been done. We are ahead of schedule, – said Sergey Pusako. In the course of this week will be finished the heavy monolithic work. And it will be possible to deal with roofing and even finishing. We are also considering the design of the object: the facade of the building is planned to be decorated in four colors.

The total area of the new building of Science and Technology Park of Yanka Kupala State University is more than 6.5 thousand square meters. It will house both office and production facilities, open-space platforms, co-working centers, and a large conference hall equipped with all necessary hardware.
– For today, the existing areas of Science and Technology Park are no longer enough. And this fact only confirms that innovative developments in the region are in demand – - said Irina Kiturko, the rector of Yanka Kupala State University. – There are already residents who are waiting for the opening of the second stage of the Science and technology Park. The facility is scheduled to be completed in this autumn.

LLC “Classic Electro” is just one of those resident companies that are waiting for the opening of a new building of Science and Technology Park to establish start-up production. The company has been a resident of Science and Technology Park of Yanka Kupala State University for about a year and, having successfully completed the search for investment, is now starting to manufacture universal installation kits for converting existing vehicles into electric cars. Simultaneously the resident plans to develop such areas as the production of removable batteries for small vehicles, such as electric scooters.
– With the commissioning of the second stage of Science and Technology Park, we expect to get about 300 square meters for start-up production, - Sergey Zhiltsov, Director of LLC “Classic Electro”, shared his plans. – Our company's activity is focused on modernizing all existing transport in electric. When the state program for the development of electric transport in Belarus was being developed, the issue of modernizing existing transport was left without due attention. But it is possible to convert existing vehicles and use them as electric vehicles in the future. We decided to implement this idea. We don't have any competitors in this direction in the country yet. And the second direction in which our company works is the production of removable batteries for electric scooters, tricycles, and delivery services. These removable batteries will allow owners of small electric vehicles to save time spent on recharging.

The resident company of Science and Technology Park, LLC “Classic Electro”, already has customers, including from abroad: the Czech Republic, Poland and other European countries. In addition, the utilities of our Republic are also interested in the possibilities of modernizing their transport. The new production facilities that will appear with the commissioning of the second stage of Science and Technology Park will allow to satisfy all the interests of customers.
Meanwhile, the number of Science and Technology Park residents is constantly growing. So, on April 6, an agreement was signed with a new resident: the company that will provide services in the IT industry was founded by Pavel Romanets, a 2nd-year student of the faculty of mathematics and computer science at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. His company became the eighth resident of Science and Technology Park and the third company that was founded by students and employees of YKSUG.

-Today, Science and Technology Park, as well as Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, is an innovative platform that allows, first of all, to turn innovative ideas of our students and teachers into business, – said Irina Kiturko, rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. – But the field of activity of the Science and technology Park is much wider. We can say that it forms the entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystem of the entire region and the entire Republic. Anyone who has an innovative idea can contact Science and Technology Park, and here they will tell you how to implement it. In addition, it is important that residents of Science and Technology Park create new jobs. For example, the resident company "Information technologies in construction", created by our students and employees, this year employs two more graduates of UKSUG.

Residents of Science and Technology Park can count not only on qualified assistance and advice from specialists in search of optimal ways to implement innovative ideas, but also on significant benefits when renting high-quality equipment, offices and production areas. By the way, the equipment in Science and Technology Park of Yanka Kupala State University is really the best in the region. Thus, professional 3D printers, which have recently been actively used to fulfill orders of industrial enterprises in the region, have been working for several days to implement an important social project. Science and Technology Park has started creating universal protective screens that will be sent to medical institutions in the region. Within the next month, all four 3D printers of Science and Technology Park of Yanka Kupala State University will print protective screens for medical professionals. The equipment will be loaded as much as possible, it is planned to print about a thousand copies in total.

Youth social projects competition announced in Yanka Kupala State University

The competition is dedicated To the year of the small Motherland and the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war.
Students, undergraduates and PhD students of the university, as well as College students are invited to become participants. To do this, they will need to develop a social project that is aimed at solving certain problems of society, its transformation and improving the quality of life. Fedor Denisovich Botyan was born on April 17, 1903 in Andriyanovo village, Orsha district, Mogilev province.
In 1941, during the evacuation from Bialystok, Fedor Botyan was surrounded near Yaroshevichi village in Pruzhansky district of the Brest region. He lived with a local doctor and worked as a laborer.
On July 20, 1943, he joined the Kirov partisan detachment of the Brest partisan unit, where he remained until the liberation of the territory by the Red Army.
From 1944 to 1945, Fedor Botyan worked as the Deputy Director of Grodno Pedagogical Institute.

The enterprise created by a student  from Yanka Kupala State University became the eighth resident of the Science and Technology Park of Yanka Kupala State University

The corresponding agreement was signed by Alexander Vasilevich, Director of the Science and Technology Park, and Pavel Romanets, a student of the faculty of mathematics and informatics at Yanka Kupala State University. His company plans to develop software that will help more effectively organize activities in industries such as education and medicine.
– I have a long-standing desire to create my own company. And despite the fact that I am only in my second year, I decided to try my hand. Especially as our University provides excellent opportunities for development. I hope that I will be able to successfully combine work with study, because it is equally important for me to master the knowledge that is given at the University, to adopt the rich experience accumulated by teachers, and at the same time to quickly use the knowledge in practice. – said Pavel Romanets.
A sophomore student, Pavel Romanets, had an idea for a business all of a sudden.
As the head of the study group, he decided to simplify the process of communication between students and teachers in the University environment. As a result, Pavel has created a special software for elders, which he is currently testing and plans to offer soon for use in all educational groups of the University. In the process of developing an application for students, Pavel Romanets decided that the creation of such IT services could be widely demanded both in the education industry and in medicine. It is these two areas that the resident company of the Technopark, created by our student, plans to rely on in the near future.

The Science and Technology Park of Yanka Kupala State University has started production of multipurpose protective screens for doctors

Hundreds of protective screens, which are created using 3D printers of the Science and Technology Park, are planned to be sent to region hospitals.
Just a few days ago, a trial copy was printed in the Science and Technology Park, the effectiveness of which has already been evaluated by doctors.
– At the moment, about 30 multipurpose protective screens are ready. There are already applications for the production of 740 copies, – said Alexander Vasilevich, the director of the Science and Technology Park of Yanka Kupala State University – since 3D printing is not designed for mass production, within a month we will be able to print no more than a thousand of these protective screens. But even this is a significant help for our medical industry now. It takes us three hours to create a single protective screen. But we continue to optimize the process and reduce production time. The first protective screens created in our Science and Technology Park will be sent to those medical institutions in the region that feel the greatest need to purchase additional personal protective equipment for doctors.
This is a social project for the the Science and Technology Park of Yanka Kupala State University: multipurpose protective screens are sold at cost price. Screens are made of high-quality belarusian plastic. At the moment, all four 3D printers of the Science and Technology Park are used exclusively to help provide the region's medical industry with the necessary protective equipment.

The IV Open contest of students' start-up projects "InNaStart" is declared in Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

Everyone who has ideas for innovative start-up projects in various industries and spheres of activity is invited to participate.
The competition is held to support innovative business ideas of students and encourage young people to create innovations and offer original products, technologies, goods and services.
The competition "InNaStart" this year will be held in four stages. The first stage-preparatory training-will begin today, April 6, and will last until May 18. The arrangers will tell participants how to develop a project idea and business model of the project, select a team, present the work, as well as the topics of training will be project financing, marketing and possible risks.
During the second stage, participants will have to register their projects on the competition's web page until May 11.
During the third stage the jury will evaluate the registered projects for participation in the final stage of the competition. The project's innovation, relevance and importance, feasibility in practice and availability of a sound business model will be taken into account.
"InNaStart" will end with "the Start-up battle". Finalists will present their projects, participate in master classes, and consult with expert entrepreneurs.
The contest jury will select the best student projects in four categories according to priority directions of scientific researches and scientific-technical activity in the Republic of Belarus: "The Best start-up – TECHNOLOGY", "The best start-up project – PRODUCT", "The best start-up project – SERVICE", "The best start-up project-SOCIAL INNOVATION".
The winners and prize-winners of the IV Open competition of student start-up projects "InNaStart" will receive prizes, a certificate for free consulting in the Science and Technology Park of Yanka Kupala State University, and the opportunity to use its infrastructure and services.
Also, according to the organizers, the competition results can determine the best project for the Grand Prix in the form of a grant to create a start-up-resident of the Science and Technology Park with the volume and sources of funding determined on the basis of a reasonable business plan in accordance with the established procedure.

Irina Nikolaevna Bogdanova was born in 1912 in Poltava province. In 1940, she graduated from high school. Then Irina Bogdanova was sent to teacher training courses in Western Ukraine. Before the war, she worked as a primary school teacher in Vyshkov village in Vygotsky district of Stanislavsky region.
After the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, Irina Nikolaevna Bogdanova was evacuated to Elista, The Kalmyk ASSR, worked as the head of the library at Kalmyk Pedagogical Institute. From may 1942 to 1945, she was conscripted into the Soviet Navy. She worked as a librarian at the Grodno pedagogical Institute until 1947.

Nikifor Dmitrievich Bespamyatnykh was born on April 23, 1910 in Sarafanovo village, Irbitsky uyezd, Perm province. He studied at the Urals, first in Pokrovsk school, and then in Alapaevsk high school. At the same time, he worked at a metallurgical plant.
In 1933, Nikifor Bespamyatnykh graduated from Perm University and there became PhD student at the Department of mathematics. In 1936-1937, he taught at Blagoveshchensk Agricultural and Pedagogical Institute, and from 1938 to 1941- at Belarusian Polytechnic Institute.
During the Great Patriotic War, Nikifor Dmitrievich Bespamyatnykh participated in the battles for the liberation of Belarus, Poland, and fought in East Prussia. Awarded the medal "For military merit" (1945), the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd class (1985).
After demobilization, Nikifor Bespamyatnykh was sent by the Ministry of Education of Belarus to Grodno Pedagogical Institute. Since 1945, he worked as a senior teacher of the Department of geometry and methods of teaching mathematics, the head of the Department of elementary mathematics. Nikifor Dmitrievich Bespamyatnykh - PhD in Education, author of more than 90 scientific and methodological works.

Sergey Samuilovich Berkner was born on May 16, 1923 in Bialystok. In 1942 he joined the underground anti-fascist organization in the Bialystok ghetto. In 1943, he joined the partisan group "Forward", was a spy for the staff of the Konstanty Kalinowski brigade. Sergey Berkner awarded the Order of Patriotic War 2nd class (1985), medals "Partisan of the Patriotic War" 1st class, "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945".
Since 1945, Sergey Samuilovich Berkner worked as a fitter at Grodno Pedagogical Institute. In 1949, he graduated from the English Department of the faculty of foreign languages of our University, and since 1951 worked as a teacher of the Department of English in Ulyanovsk. Since 1962, Sergey Berkner has been a Professor at the Department of English at Voronezh State Pedagogical University. Doctor of Philology, Professor, Sergey Berkner wrote a memoir-historical book "The Life and struggle of the Bialystok ghetto".

"At my father's insistence, I was smuggled over the ghetto fence to a partisan unit in the forest. Other prisoners saw this as madness and a deadly risk. Many then believed that somehow they would survive the ghetto, that the Germans sent people from here not to the furnaces, but "to work".
But my father already saw how it would end soon. So he didn't just give me life once-he gave me fate. The partisan resistance itself was a chance to survive. I survived. I met my future wife in the group. And my father died in a concentration camp, where all the inhabitants of the ghetto – children, old men, and women-were taken from the Bialystok freight station. But first he and other underground workers started an uprising in the ghetto. It was an act of dignified death. By the way, they were secretly helped by some of the Germans. We had a friend, the German social Democrat and anti-fascist Arthur Villa Sade. In Bialystok he was officially in charge of the textile mill. Before I left the ghetto for the partisans, I met with Sade. He gave me a Belgian carbine. Already being in the partisans, I appreciated the gift-we had weapons worth their weight in gold.
Before joining the Red Army, more than half of the detachment died. The rest lived in dugouts. Food for themselves was obtained in the villages or captured the German wagon train. Mainly engaged in sabotage in the German rear and helped Soviet prisoners of war.
Not far from our deployment was a small camp for Soviet prisoners of war. We killed the German guards and released 50 people. Exactly half of them went to us as partisans."

Yanka Kupala State University published a publication about the fate of University employees during the Great Patriotic War

Andrey Gecevich, a PhD in History, Associate Professor is the author of the book, which is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Yanka Kupala State University and the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.
As the author of the book "The Great Patriotic War in the lives of employees of Yanka Kupala State University" noted, the preparation of the anniversary edition is a tribute to the people who defended the independence of their native land 75 years ago. The book contains memoirs of employees and documentary evidence of participants in the war, who in peacetime were rectors, deans of faculties, heads of departments, teachers, employees of departments, library, economic divisions of the University, commandants of dormitories.
One publication contains information about more than 90 University employees who passed the hardships of the war years. They fought on the main fronts of the Patriotic War, partisanized, saved lives in the besieged Leningrad, and also took part in the war with Japan, Finland. Some lived in territories temporarily occupied by the enemy and joined the Кed Army during the last period of the war. There are also young prisoners of German concentration camps among the heroes of the book, who went through hard trials at a young age, found the strength for creative work in peacetime, became teachers and worked for many years in Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
The author has done a lot of work with documentary sources. The book includes autobiographical data, information from award documents, as well as preserved memories of not only the characters themselves, but also their close relatives, colleagues, students, and coworkers. The anniversary scientific publication is addressed to a wide range of readers, first of all, pupils and students, all who are interested in the history of their native country and Yanka Kupala State University.
