– It is gratifying that the creative meeting held at the Yanka Kupaka State University has become a platform for expanding intercultural dialogue. The topics ranged from “My Belarusian History: How Belarus Changed My Life” to “Belarus in the Lens”, allowing participants to share unforgettable moments and personal experiences of life in Belarus. The essay contest was attended by 75 students, each of whom presented the peculiarities of their nation's culture. The results of the essay contest and the video contest will be announced today. In addition, the creative meeting will feature poems in different languages of the world, interactive round tables, games, a concert, and most importantly – the students will have an opportunity to get acquainted, make friends, talk about the cultural peculiarities of their country, – Leonty Pavlov said.

Representatives of Karshi State University, Irkutsk State University, Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimi greeted the participants of the creative meeting in the online format.

This year more than 400 students – citizens of 21 countries are taking part in the multinational cultural dialogue: Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Morocco, Iraq, Myanmar, Syria, Kenya, Yemen, China, Maldives, Congo, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Ecuador.

An interactive round table will allow one to immerse oneself in the traditions and culture of different countries. The range of topics is wide: from traditional games and entertainment to national symbols of happiness. The participants will show their oratorical skills at the recitation contest “My native land, how dear you are to me”, where they will hear the works in Belarusian or any other native language.

The final chord of this bright holiday will be the concert “Multivoiced National Cultures”.

The event was organised by the Education Internationalization Centre together with the GRSU named after Yanka Kupala foreign students' fraternities.

Let us remind you that the first interethnic student meeting was held in 2017 as part of the Republican Festival of creativity of foreign students “F.-ART.by”. Then representatives of three Grodno universities and BSU took part in the event. Every year the geography of participants expanded. And now the creative meeting has become an international event.

The creative meeting “Belarus – Crossroads of National Cultures” is held with the aim of developing intercultural interaction between students, fostering a tolerant personality in the multicultural environment of the university, increasing the interest of foreign citizens in the Republic of Belarus, its traditions, history and culture.
