Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted a meeting with Chinese partners

On October 31, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted a meeting with representatives of the Charitable Foundation for the Support of Education and Development of Talented Students of China and Beijing Union University, where they discussed areas of cooperation.

The delegation of the Charitable Foundation for the Support of Education and Development of Talented Students of the People's Republic of China included Tian Di, General Secretary, Director of the Management Committee, and Ekaterina Ignatieva, an employee of the Charitable Foundation.

The Beijing Union University side was represented by Bao Xinzhong, Vice-rector, Yin Fubing, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Business, Zhang Lingna, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Management, Yang Qihong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences and Qu Wenchao, Deputy Director of the Department of International Exchanges and Cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Liavontsi Paulau, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Viktor Belozorovich, Dean of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism, Alena Belakoz, Head of the Center for Internationalization of Education, Volha Minava, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Alesia Belko, Head of the Department of International Projects and Academic Mobility.

After the introductory remarks, representatives of each side of the Chinese partners were introduced to Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno by showing a video about the university. Then the discussion of promising areas of interuniversity cooperation began. During the dialogue, questions were raised about the possibility of bachelor's degree students from the Beijing Union University at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. There was also a discussion of academic cooperation in the field of archeology. In addition to discussing interuniversity cooperation, an agreement was signed during the meeting on the implementation of a joint educational program under the "2+2" scheme between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Beijing Union University.

After the business meeting, the delegation of the Charitable Foundation for the Support of Education and Development of Talented Students of the People's Republic of China and the delegation of the Beijing Union University met with undergraduates from Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, graduates of Beijing Union University Wang Jiayi, Yan Xiaorui and Zhang Jingwen. Then a sightseeing tour of the university was organized for the guests.

For reference: The cooperation of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno with the Charitable Foundation for the Support of Education and Development of Talented Students began with the signing of a cooperation agreement on February 3, 2020. In 2022, a representative of the Tian Di Foundation participated in an online meeting with representatives of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno to discuss promising areas of cooperation with educational institutions in China, and in 2023, a delegation of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno headed by Rector Iryna Kiturka visited the Charitable Foundation during a visit to China to discuss areas of cooperation.

Cooperation with Beijing Union University began in 2024 with the signing of an International Cooperation Agreement on November 26.
