A training seminar for students on the project "Preservation of the ethnocultural heritage and the development of tourism in the historical region of traditional beekeeping" ENI-LLB-2-359

On 13 April, 2021, the training seminar for students on the project " Preservation of the ethnocultural heritage and the development of tourism in the historical region of traditional beekeeping" ENI -LLB-2-359 was held on the basis of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The seminar was attended by employees and students of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology, the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism, the Faculty of Law and project partners – employees of the State environmental institution "Republican landscape reserve "Ozery".

 

After a welcoming speech from the project manager Olga Yanchurevich, the head of the Department of Zoology and Physiology of Human and Animals, those present heard the following presentations:

  • “Forest beekeeping and beekeeping in the culture and art of Belarusians” by Pavel Sheybak (a student of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism), who carries out his research paper under the supervision of Alexei Zagidulin (YKSUG);
  • “History and current state of beekeeping in Belarus” by a specialist in history and heritage Andrei Detchenya (RLR “Ozyory”) and Alexei Zagidulin (YKSUG);
  • “Species diversity of bees in the Grodno region” by Elizaveta Tyurina (a student of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology) and Alexandra Ryzha (YKSUG);
  • "Facts and myths about bees and honey" by Christina Khodosevich (a student of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology) and Oleg Sozinov (YKSUG).

All presentations were followed by a discussion between listeners - employees and students of all faculties who attended the seminar.

After the speeches, a round table on forest beekeeping and beekeeping in the Grodno region, moderated by Sergey Emelyanchik (YKSUG) and Dmitry Morozik (RLR "Ozyory") was organized. During the round table, the tasting of various types of honey provided by ООО “Medovy Shlyakh” and a discussion about its properties and qualities was offered.
