The Summer School of the Belarusian language and Culture "under the bright name of Kupala" has been working at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno for the second week.

The participants of the Summer School study the Belarusian language and get acquainted with the traditions and folklore of Belarus.

The second week of training is devoted to the peculiarities of the Belarusian speech, Belarusian holidays, traditional family rituals and other interesting features of the Belarusian language and culture.

Excursions to museums and trips to historical places of Grodno and Belarus have already become a good tradition of the Summer School of the Belarusian Language.

The participants of the Belarusian Language Summer School have already visited the Grodno State Historical and Archaeological Museum and today they will have an informative excursion to Lida, where they will visit one of the visiting cards of the Grodno region - Lida Castle.

Another memorable event of the Summer School of the Belarusian language and Culture is a master class on cooking Belarusian cuisine "taste - delicious!”

The participants cooked traditional dishes of Belarusian cuisine: pumpkin soup, lazy fish, «dandelions» and so on.

- This project helps us, foreign students, to immerse ourselves more in the cultural environment of Belarus. The Summer School of the Belarusian language and Culture provides an opportunity to gain new knowledge about the traditions and folklore of the Belarusian people. Excursions, master classes, classes - all this is a good way to immerse yourself in the culture of Belarus, - said Ruslana Tolstosheeva, student of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism, participant of the Summer School of the Belarusian Language.

Tomorrow, the Summer School of the Belarusian Language and Culture will present certificates to students on the completion of this educational project.

The organizers of the project are the scientific library and the Faculty of Philology of Yanka  Kupala State University of Grodno.

On August 1, the Summer School of the Belarusian Language and Culture "under the bright name of Kupala" opened its doors at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

The participants of the Summer School study the Belarusian language and get acquainted with the traditions and folklore of Belarus. Theoretical classes are devoted to the peculiarities of Belarusian speech, spelling, grammatical categories of gender, number and case, poetic genres and forms in modern Belarusian poetry, phraseology, as well as the non-equivalent vocabulary of the Belarusian language.

Trips to historical places of Grodno and Belarus, excursions to museums, master classes, historical quests – it is all about the Summer School of the Belarusian language.

The participants of the Belarusian Language Summer School have already visited the Maxim Bogdanovich Museum, the Augustovsky Canal, the Pysanka Museum (ag. Sopotskin) and the Gudevichi State Literary and Local History Museum.

"The Belarusian Summer School is a unique educational project that helps foreigners to understand and learn the Belarusian language and culture, the peculiarities of the Belarusian mentality and traditions. The most memorable thing is excursions to picturesque and historical places of Belarus!"- noted Ruslana Tolstosheeva. , a student of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism, a participant of the Summer School of the Belarusian Language

The summer school will be open until August 12.

Yanka Kupala State State University hosted the International Summer School of Economic Scientists "SCIENNOMIS – 2022"

The school worked on the basis of the Faculty of Economics and Management last week. The students have mastered an intensive course in econometric analysis, modeling and forecasting. Students and teachers from the Irkutsk State University, the Russian University of Transport, as well as from the Kyrgyz National University joined the classes.

Classes at the school were held in a mixed online and offline format. Teachers of the Department of Mathematical and Information Support of Economic Systems conducted lectures for students, trainings and master classes on such topics of econometric analysis as modeling and forecasting of economic data using Microsoft Excel, as well as using other software packages.

During the summer school, special attention was paid to methods of econometric and statistical analysis of data on the socio-economic development of regions, including methods of spatial econometrics for analyzing the state of regional labor markets, methods of ranking and classification of regions of the Republic of Belarus by indicators of small and medium-sized enterprises.

At a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Marina Karpitskaya, the school participants discussed current problems of modeling socio-economic phenomena in the context of digitalization, as well as areas for further cooperation.

The teachers of Yanka Kupala State University took part in the II International Scientific and Practical Conference "Methods of teaching of foreign languages 2.0: real and virtual"

The conference was organized by the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation (Moscow).

Irina Klochko, the senior lecturer of the Department of English Philology, and Yulia Marmysh, the lecturer of the Department of English Philology, made a report "Education after the pandemic: adapting to the generation Z and corresponding to the generation Alpha", in which they shared their experience in creating a digital learning environment for the generation Z students and forecasts for the development of interactive personalized programs and teaching methods for representatives of the generation Alpha.

The conference program was designed for two days, during which plenary sessions were held, thematic sections worked, master classes were organized by teachers of Moscow and regional universities of Russia and Belarus.

The conference events were held in a full-time format: the work of online sections was broadcast using the Jazz by Sber platform, and master classes were held using the Microsoft Teams platform.

The participation of representatives of Kupala University caused a warm response from the organizers of the conference. An invitation was received from the organizing Committee of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation to expand interuniversity contacts and establish permanent cooperation and interaction.

Professor from Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno completed a fellowship program in Yerevan State University

Associate Professor of Department of Russian Philology Zoya Sidorovich completed a fellowship program at the Department of Russian Linguistics in Erevan State University. The fellowship was part of the “Education and Youth Policy” state program for 2021-2025.

As a result of the fellowship, new methods of teaching philological disciplines in verbal and cogitative aspects, including interactive technologies, project method, distance learning, communicative learning, were mastered.

Professor specifics of organization of the educational process in Erevan State University and viewed some teaching materials of Faculty of Russian Philology. Zoya Sidorovich received advice and got experience from Head of the Department of Russian Linguistics, Typology and Communication Theory, Doctor of Philology, Professor Lilit Brutyan, who is one of the leading Armenian scholars in the sphere of cross-cultural communication, philosophy of language, speech act theory, argumentation theory, non-verbal semiotics and gender studies.

Besides, there were a few successful meetings with the Dean of Faculty of Russian Philology Pavel Balayan and teaching stuff of the faculty.

There was also a meeting with the Director of the Ijevan Campus of Erevan State University Anushavan Makaryan. During the meeting further cooperation and project activities, new forms of examination sessions and interactive forms of education were discussed.

The fellowship program improved scientific networking and helped to establish international cooperation between Armenia and Belarus.

Professor from Yanka Kupala State University attended a fellowship program in Uzbekistan

Dean of Faculty of Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Svetlana Cheburanova attended a fellowship program in the Human Rights and State Law Department of Faculty of Law at Karakalpak State University. The fellowship program was part of the “Education and Youth Policy” state program for 2021-2025.

Svetlana Cheburanova learnt about specifics of organization of the educational process in Karakalpak State University and viewed some teaching materials. She also received advice from Doctor of Laws, Professor Karlygash Umarova, who is one of the leading scholars in the sphere of law. Svetlana took part in a scientific and practical conference with a research on the topic “Development of civil society: theoretical framework”.

Professor also took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “The role of Karakalpak State University in scientific and educational development”, which was dedicated to 45th anniversary of the university. Rector of Yanka Kupala State University Iryna Kiturka congratulated Rector of Karakalpak State University Ahmed Reimov.

Svetlana Cheburanova met students of 1st and 2nd years of Faculty of Law. As a result of the fellowship program, new methods of teaching legal disciplines in historical and theoretical aspects were mastered.

Besides, there were a few meetings with Dean of Faculty of Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Elizaveta Kutybaeva and teaching staff of Faculty of Law. During the meetings further cooperation and project activities as well as new forms of online training were discussed.

Online conference with representatives of University of Vavuniya from Sri Lanka took place in Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is always open to international cooperation and new foreign partners. The online conference helped to find the meeting points with University of Vavuniya in Sri Lanka.

Ambassador of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage and other representatives of the embassy, as well as Rector of University of Vavuniya Dr. Thampoe Mangaleswaran and academic community participated in the conference.

Rector Iryna Kiturka, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Yury Bialykh, Dean of Faculty of Economics and Management Marina Karpickaya, Dean of Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics Alena Livak, Dean of Faculty of Biology and Ecology Aliaksandr Kareusky, Head the Education Internalization Centre Alena Belakoz, Head of the International relations office Volha Minava, Head of the Recruiting and Registration of International Citizens Department Iryna Hlaunitskaya from Yanka Kupala State University also took part in the event.

The universities didn’t cooperate before, so the meeting became a good starting point for further partnership. Representatives from both universities discussed their main activities and focus areas. University of Vavuniya is interested in various activities such as academic exchange of teaching stuff and students, joint educational programs, cooperation in scientific field. The university is planning to develop long-term and sustainable cooperation in all disciplines.

The meeting was organized by the Embassy of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Russia. All the participants of the event are sure that their communication will grow into a productive partnership.

In April 2022 Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno addressed the Embassy of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Russian Federation with a request to come into contact with University of Sri Jayewardenepura and University of Kelaniya as well as to draw attention of the citizens of Sri Lanka to education. The Embassy supported the initiative and proposed to hold an online-meeting of the three universities towards further cooperation with University of Vavuniya.

Representatives from Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took part in the « Features of appointing and conducting forensic medical examination in civil cases » interdisciplinary project

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University successfully implemented an interdisciplinary project. The defense of the project took place on March 20 in Grodno and Moscow via video conference.

The research was made on practical issues of appointment, implementation, assessment and usage of the report of the forensic expert in trial activities. Tatiana Pashkevich from Jurisprudence specialty, Faculty of Law of Yanka Kupala State University and Milena Genjalieva from Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University presented the main results of the research to the committee.

Head of the Civil Law Department of Yanka Kupala State University Igor Martynenko as well as Doctor of medical science and Head of Forensic Medicine Department of Pirogov Russian National Medical University Evgeniy Kildyushov became the project coordinators.

According to Professor Martynenko’s words the students had an opportunity to both make a presentation and publish their research. The results of the «Features of appointing and conducting forensic medical examination in civil cases» project were introduced to the educational process and are available at the educational portal.

Professor from Uzbekistan will be giving lectures in Yanka Kupala State University

Professor and Doctor of technical science Muhamedov Kabiljan from Tashkent chemical-technological Institute gives lectures at the Faculty of Biology and Ecology under the Visiting Professor program.  

Professor Muhamedov will give lectures on Toxicology basics, Ecology and environmental management and Common Eclology to the first year students of the Bioecology specialty.

During the lectures the attention will be paid to the state of modern natural resources, reasonable environmental management as well as ways of solving commodity, energy and food problems.

By the way, there is a cooperation agreement between Yanka Kupala State University and Tashkent chemical-technological Institute, which was signed in March 2021. At the moment Head of Technology, Physiology and Food Hygiene Department Natalia Bashun is giving lectures in Tashkent.
