Summer holidays and active classes: students of the Summer School of the Russian Language continue their studies with immersion in the language environment

In order to fully immerse themselves in the language environment, a diverse excursion program is conducted for foreign students to the picturesque historical places and enterprises of Grodno.

By increasing internal motivation to learn the Russian language and creating psychological comfort for Summer School students, the organizers in real conditions show and comment on pragmatic socio-cultural situations, introduce Belarusian national traditions, peculiarities of mentality and establish a dialogue of cultures.

Summer School of Russian Language Coordinator Irina Kraskovskaya, senior lecturer of the Department of Modern Technologies of Pre-University Education, said that daily classes for those who came to Kupala University to study Russian are held using modern innovative learning technologies involving interactive, role-playing, business games, discussions on topics of intercultural communication, as well as mandatory in order – study tours. Thus, classes are aimed at the development of mental activity, creative activity, the formation of combinatorial speech skills and abilities.

As part of the educational program, foreign students visited the exhibition halls of the Belarusbank ASB Museum. In addition, in order to immerse themselves in the language environment, a master class was held on cooking Belarusian cuisine, making Belarusian souvenirs.

The Summer School of the Belarusian Language and Culture continues to work at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

On August 1, the Summer School of the Belarusian Language and Culture "under the bright name of Kupala" opened its doors at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

The participants of the Summer School study the Belarusian language and get acquainted with the traditions and folklore of Belarus. Theoretical classes are devoted to the peculiarities of Belarusian speech, spelling, grammatical categories of gender, number and case, poetic genres and forms in modern Belarusian poetry, phraseology, as well as the non-equivalent vocabulary of the Belarusian language.

Trips to historical places of Grodno and Belarus, excursions to museums, master classes, historical quests – it is all about the Summer School of the Belarusian language.

The participants of the Belarusian Language Summer School have already visited the Maxim Bogdanovich Museum, the Augustovsky Canal, the Pysanka Museum (ag. Sopotskin) and the Gudevichi State Literary and Local History Museum.

"The Belarusian Summer School is a unique educational project that helps foreigners to understand and learn the Belarusian language and culture, the peculiarities of the Belarusian mentality and traditions. The Summer School of the Belarusian language and Culture "under the bright name of Kupala" has been working at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno for the second week.

The participants of the Summer School study the Belarusian language and get acquainted with the traditions and folklore of Belarus.

The second week of training is devoted to the peculiarities of the Belarusian speech, Belarusian holidays, traditional family rituals and other interesting features of the Belarusian language and culture.

Excursions to museums and trips to historical places of Grodno and Belarus have already become a good tradition of the Summer School of the Belarusian Language.

The participants of the Belarusian Language Summer School have already visited the Grodno State Historical and Archaeological Museum and today they will have an informative excursion to Lida, where they will visit one of the visiting cards of the Grodno region - Lida Castle.

Another memorable event of the Summer School of the Belarusian language and Culture is a master class on cooking Belarusian cuisine "taste - delicious!”

The participants cooked traditional dishes of Belarusian cuisine: pumpkin soup, lazy fish, «dandelions» and so on.

Students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took part in the "Winter School" of the Faculty of Journalism of Lomonosov Moscow State University

The International educational project "Winter School" took place at the Faculty of Journalism of Lomonosov Moscow State University from January 16 to 27, 2023. Among its participants were students of the specialty "Journalism" of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Alexander Stepanenko, Tagir Mammadov and Ilona Kostyuk.

The participation of students of the specialty "Journalism" became possible thanks to the cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Journalism of Lomonosov Moscow State University and Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, which was concluded in October 2022.

The winter school was held in a distance format. Undergraduates from universities in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia were trained. The educational program was focused on getting acquainted with the media system of Russia, the existing trends in the Russian media market, and implied obtaining practical skills in working in Russian-language media.

The first week included a course of lectures. Among the main topics that the students considered were the topics of journalistic culture, digital inequality and digital capital, the role of the media in Eurasian integration. The lectures also dealt with the development of television journalism, photojournalism and digital media in Russia. Virtual tours of Russia's leading media companies and meetings with their employees with the opportunity to ask questions were organized (TASS, VK, Russia Today). Online tours of the Faculty of Journalism and the main building of the Lomonosov Moscow State University were held.

The second week of the "Winter School" was a practical module. He assumed the development, implementation and protection of multimedia projects. The participants were divided into 10 international groups of 3 people. The works were evaluated by teachers of the Faculty of Journalism of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

The project of Alexander Stepanenko's team dedicated to integration processes in the post-Soviet space within the CIS was recognized as the best according to the results of the "Winter School". The authors of the project had the opportunity to undergo free of charge included training at the Faculty of Journalism of Lomonosov Moscow State University in the autumn semester of the 2023-2024 academic year.

All students who successfully mastered the school's program were awarded certificates of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Students of the Faculty of Law were awarded diplomas of the first degree in the nomination "Legal Sciences" of the International Research Competition "Scientific Impulse - 2023".

The research paper "Decentralized autonomous organization as a new form of business organization in the digital economy was noted. The legal aspect" by Konstantin Dornyak, performed under the scientific supervision of the head of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure, Doctor of Law, Professor Igor Martynenko.

At the methodological seminar held at the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism on 24.01.2023, the main topic was the speech of Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Y. Yarmak about her experience of visiting the Anadolu University in Eskisehir (Turkey).

This university, the fourth in the world in terms of the number of students, occupies a huge complex in the north of the city. The implementation of programs at the Faculty of the Open Educational System is conducted by means of information and communication technologies.

Y. Yarmak spoke about the organization of online education, the accepted methodology for monitoring and evaluating knowledge. А number of issues related to the logistical support of teaching humanities at the Faculty of Tourism of Anadolu University, the specifics of the organization of the educational process, the distribution of the workload of the teaching staff and the accounting of working hours were considered. The Turkish educational portal was introduced. The seminar participants noted that the Turkish portal is similar in its basic principles of work with the educational portal of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

The possibility of publishing in the online journal Toledo, published by the University of Anadolu, was presented at the methodological seminar. Touching upon the issue of educational work, Y. Yarmak noted that at Anadolu University this activity is divided into faculties that carry it out in certain areas: for example, the Faculty of Arts is responsible for art education, the conservatory is responsible for organizing musical events. Also, a mosque located right on the campus has a significant role in the education of students.

According to the results of the research work in the library of the Anadolu University, Yuliya Yarmak collected about 70 full-text English-language research works in the major "Tourism and Hospitality". The data obtained will be used to update the curricula at the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the University of Grodno. The participants of the seminar learned about the international cooperation programs implemented by Anadolu University. Y. Yarmak shared the contacts of her Turkish colleagues, noting the readiness of the Turkish side to cooperate with Belarusian colleagues in the field of science and culture.

The teacher of the Yanka Kupala State University presented a monograph at the “Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk”

In the "Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk" in the Marc Chagall Art Center, a lecture and presentation of the monograph "Transformation of the traditional lifestyle of Jewish women in Belarusian lands in the conditions of modernization (the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries)" by Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Candidate of Historical Sciences Yulia Ermak took place.

Yulia Ermak spoke about the peculiarities of the life of Jewish women in the Belarusian lands during this historical period. She pointed out what changes have taken place in the traditional way of life of Jewish society under the influence of modernization processes. She explained how socio-economic, political, moral and ethical factors influenced the position of women in society. The speaker's speech found a lively response from the audience.

Yulia Ermak introduced Irina Voronova, Director of the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk, to the list of scientific events planned for implementation in 2023 at the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism. Plans for further cooperation in the field of culture and historical science were outlined.

Yanka Kupala State University students won medals at the Republican Universiade in Indoor Athletics

In the overall standings, the team of Kupala University took fifth place. In total, students from 31 institutions of higher education in Belarus participated in the competition.

The Republican Universiade in Athletics was held in Gomel. The winners were determined in the all-around and relay, long jump and triple jump, 400 and 3000 meters running. There are three first, three second and three third places in the medal piggy bank of the Kupala individual standings. Charlotte Paeglite, a student of Yanka Kupala State University, received a special prize from the Belarusian Association of Student Sports. The girl won the pentathlon.
