New working-outs of the Technopark, online training and early completion of construction work of the hostel (ADDED VIDEO)

The Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Igor Karpenko visited the Yanka Kupala State University during a working trip to the Grodno region.

The visit of the Minister of Education of Belarus to Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno  began with a visit to the construction site of the new hostel of the Yanka Kupala State University on Dubko Street. Here Igor Karpenko visited students' rooms, self-study rooms, a buffet, and other rooms.

Assessing the readiness of the construction, the Minister noted that students will be able to move into the hostel at the end of this summer. It is planned that the facility will be commissioned ahead of schedule.

- «The commissioning of the facility is scheduled for the end of the year. But builders promise that the hostel will be ready by mid-August. It is right. I would like to move students before the start of the school year»,-commented Igor Karpenko.

The new hostel of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is designed for 1030 places and with commissioning it will provide housing for 85% of students of  University.

The next point on the route of the working trip of the Minister of Education is Technopark of the Yanka Kupala State University. Here, Igor Karpenko was presented a new production, which was launched a few weeks ago: one of the first in the Republic of Belarus Technopark of Yanka Kupala State University began to produce protective screens for physicians, which are made by laser cutting and 3D printers. Products are in demand. At the moment, the company carries out orders from organizations from all over the region. More than 700 protective screens have already been implemented.

In addition, the Minister was told that this is not the only current development of scientists at University, created on the basis of the Technopark. For testing, the doctors received a splitter for ventilators, which will allow to connect several patients to the same medical device.

Igor Karpenko also visited the construction site of the second stage of the Science and Technology Park, whose total area is more than 6.5 thousand square meters. The new building will accommodate both office and industrial premises, open-space sites, co-working centers, a large conference room equipped with all necessary equipment. Premises are already reserved by some residents.

- «The fact that the university is now actively involved in the development of the Technopark is very important. Yanka Kupala  State University of Grodno is a regional driver in the implementation of the University 3.0 project. The main task of the university now is to pull here other universities, as well as secondary specialized and vocational educational institutions. In addition, it is important to determine the promising areas of applied research, which can form the basis for creating innovative products, developing market conditions, marketing research and well-organized logistics. These are exactly the tasks that technology parks should face today», - said Igor Karpenko.

After visiting the Technopark, the Minister of Education got acquainted with the organization of the educational process of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno  using information and communication technologies, as well as forms and methods of monitoring the educational process online. Recall that until May 8, the educational process in connection with the epidemiological situation and in order to ensure safe conditions has been transferred to virtual space.

- «Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno has a unique experience in implementing information technologies in the educational process. Activities in this direction have been successfully carried out for many years, and today, in connection with the current situation, is more relevant than ever. We have created all the conditions for conducting classes online. At the same time, preserving the quality of the educational process», - said Irina Kiturko, Rector of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

In addition, during a working trip to Grodno, Igor Karpenko got acquainted with the work of a number of other educational institutions of the city. This is the city gymnasium No. 10 and the Grodno State College of Engineering, Technology and Design, in the workshops of which they sewed protective masks. The Minister of Education talked with the administration of educational institutions and teachers, answering the most pressing questions. They concerned the organization of the educational process in the prevailing epidemiological situation in the country, the timing of centralized testing, the introductory campaign, and much more.
