Current issues of University development in the modern world are discussed at the Yanka Kupala State University

 

The plenary meeting of the conference “University is the territory of advanced development”, dedicated to the anniversary of Kupala University, was held on February, 20.
During the plenary meeting, the Rector of the Yanka Kupala State University Irina Kiturko welcomed the participants of the conference and told them about the advanced development of the University, its strategy and achievements:
- This celebration allows us to look back and see what work has been done in the previous periods, to understand the direction we need to take.
Irina Kiturko noted that 2020 completes the period of implementation of yet another strategic plan, so the issue of summing up and setting plans now becomes particularly relevant for the formation of a strategy for the next period of 2021-2025. The head of the university stressed that special attention was paid to young people at the Yanka Kupala State University and, above all, to the development of entrepreneurial initiatives of students and those studying within the framework of the project “University 3.0”. Large-scale targeted efforts are being made to identify the needs of employers and to employ graduates. To improve the quality and efficiency of the University's activities through broad reengineering of all processes and the introduction of innovative business models based on the modernization of the information and communication environment, the Digital University+ project is being developed, with priority given to the internationalization of education. Targeted efforts have allowed Grodno State University of Yanka Kupala to take priority positions in many international rankings.
It should be noted that the plenary meeting of the conference presented the experience of development not only of Belarusian universities. Igor Maksimtsev, honorary Professor of the Yanka Kupala State University and head of the Saint Petersburg State University of Economics, spoke about the relations between Russia and Belarus in the context of Eurasian integration:
– Today we are not just exchanging experience, we are building the future. This is the merit of the entire team of employees, teachers, and students. I would like to once again congratulate you on the anniversary and thank you for presenting me with the gown and diploma of Honorary Professor of Grodno State University of Yanka Kupala.
In turn, the head of the Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health Sergey Bakulev told about the innovative practice of sports, and the Vice-Rector for development of the University in Bialystok Yaroslav Matveyuk told about the reforms that had taken place in the education system in Poland. Vice-Rector for international relations of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University presented the report “International activities of Chernivtsi National University — challenges of the XXI century”. Vice-principal for strategic development of
K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional State University spoke about the prospects of international cooperation within the framework of the universities consortium of Belarus and Kazakhstan.
