Visa requirements vary for different countries. Detailed information for your region is available from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

Foreign applicants from non-visa countries need to:

  •     • Prepare the documents for admission
  •     • Give passport for registration
  •     • Go through the compulsory medical examination
  •     • Have your entry interview
  •     • Submit your application to study (you do not have to fill it in beforehand — you can do it when you arrive) and other relevant documents
  •      Pass the interview
  •     • Sign education agreement
  •     • Pay tuition fee
  •     • Purchase medical insurance policy (if necessary)

Please, consult official web-site of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus to know if citizens of your country need a visa to arrive at the Republic of Belarus.

If residents of your country need a visa to come to Belarus, then you will need to ask the university to send you an invitation letter to study and apply for a student visa in the Belarusian embassy in your country.

To receive an invitation letter to study at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno foreign citizens must provide the University with the following documents:

 Bachelor’s Degree Course

 1.    Passport copy

 2.   Notarized passport translation into Russian or Belarusian

 3.   Copy of the certificate of education with all the subjects and received marks

 4.    Notarized translation of the certificate of education with all the subjects and received marks

 5.    Application for study

 Master’s Degree Course

 1.   Passport copy

 2.   Notarized passport translation into Russian or Belarusian

 3.   Copy of Bachelor's Degree Diploma (with Apostille or Legalization)

 4.   Copy of Supplement to Bachelor's Degree Diploma to with all the subjects and received marks (with Apostille or Legalization)

 5.   Notarized translation of Bachelor's Degree Diploma (with Apostille or Legalization) into Russian or Belarusian

 6.   Notarized translation of Supplement to Bachelor's Degree Diploma to with all the subjects and received marks (with Apostille or Legalization) into

 Russian or Belarusian

 7.   Application for study

All the above mentioned documents are to be sent to the University via mail or by e-mail (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) with the mark “Application”. Mind that the documents sent by the fax are not taken into consideration!

After documents are received, the University makes a decision about issuing or non-issuing of the invitation letter. If the decision made is positive, the University completes and sends the official invitation to the consular institution of the Republic of Belarus according to the foreign applicant residence.

When you receive the invitation letter from the university, address the Belarusian Consulate in your home country for a student visa. Visa requirements vary for different countries. Detailed information for your region is available from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

If your country does not have a diplomatic mission or consulate of the Republic of Belarus, you can obtain a visa upon arrival at Minsk National Airport (at the Division for the Admission of Foreigners of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

NOTE! It is very important to inform the University about the date of your arrival at Minsk National Airport because university representative will meet you and assist in receiving of the visa to study.
