Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosts conference on Modern education

On April 9, the Faculty of Pedagogy of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno became a center of lively discussion. It hosted the 23rd International Scientific Conference of Students, Master's Students, and Postgraduates "Eureka – 2026". The event brought together over 200 young researchers from Belarus, Russia, China, and Turkmenistan.
The conference was organized into seven sections: "Childhood in the Context of Pedagogical and Psychological Research", "Current Issues in Pedagogy and Social Work", "Organisation of Correctional and Pedagogical Work with Children with Psychophysical Development Disabilities", "Current Issues in Language and Literary Reading Instruction in Educational Institutions", "Teaching Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Educational Institutions", "Management in Education", and "Current Issues in Modern Socio-Humanitarian Knowledge".
In their scientific presentations, participants addressed a wide range of pressing issues, including tools for enhancing teachers' digital competence, algorithms for designing non-standard lessons, the application of the case method in teaching primary schoolchildren, and strategies for developing cognitive interest in primary school students. The conference also touched upon modern approaches to learning, such as the development of ideas about existential states of the individual in ancient Chinese philosophy and their relevance today. Presentations were delivered both in person and online in Russian, Belarusian, and English.
The 23rd International Scientific Conference of Students, Master's Students, and Postgraduates "Eureka – 2026" took place in the format of a lively dialogue. Participants from different countries actively shared their research findings, exchanged experiences and opinions, and established scientific contacts.
Meeting of physics students with a Visiting Professor from Kazakhstan took place at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

From March 24 to April 2, the Faculty of Physics and Engineering of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and Head of the Department of Physics at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Vladimir Kosov. The meeting took place within the framework of the "Visiting Professor" program.
Over ten days, Vladimir Kosov delivered a series of lectures and practical sessions for first- and second-year students specializing in "Physics" and "Computer Physics," as well as for first-year students specializing in "Robotic Systems" and "Information and Measurement Instruments and Systems".
During the lectures, Vladimir Kosov presented his scientific research to the students in a lecture series titled "From Molecule to Technology." During his stay at Kupala University, the visiting professor also visited the scientific and educational laboratories of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering.
The visiting program concluded with a meeting between Vladimir Kosov and Liavontsi Paulau, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, as well as with the heads of departments and the leadership of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering. The parties discussed matters of cooperation in educational, scientific, and project activities.
Students of YKSUG become prize-winners of the Eurasian Student Olympiad "SOCIAL INNOVATIONS"

On April 3, the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Belarusian State University hosted the Eurasian Student Olympiad "Social Innovations", which brought together the most active and creative university students.
The Olympiad was attended by 13 teams from higher education institutions in Belarus and Russia. Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was represented by two teams: "Vygotsky's Lions" and "V Kontakte".
The team "Vygotsky's Lions" included third-year students specializing in "Psychology": Ksenia Bareisha, Arman Kadyrbayev, Olga Shved, Yana Kudosh, and Anna Poltorak.
The team "V Kontakte" consisted of third-year students specializing in "Social-Pedagogical and Psychological Education": Polina Savchuk, Ella Letokhina, Anastasia Sherel, Polina Likhno, and Daria Parshtutovich.
During the Olympiad, participants had to complete five tasks, in which they demonstrated not only theoretical knowledge in the field of psychology but also their creativity and erudition.
Following intense competition, the team "Vygotsky's Lions" took third place in the Olympiad and also received a diploma in the category "For Creating an Environment of Trust and a Culture of Self-Care". The team "V Kontakte" became the winner in the category "For the Best Social Project".

Anastasia Sakovich and Yelizaveta Uzlova, lectures of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, conducted classes at the Chinese University

The first two courses of the experimental joint educational program "Biology 4+0" have been completed at Qilu Normal University. Chinese students were taught by Anastasia Sakovich and Yelizaveta Uzlova, lecturers from the Faculty of Biology and Ecology.
The classes were held over three weeks, starting from March 16, in the disciplines "Methods of Laboratory Research in Botany" and "Inorganic Chemistry".
According to our lecturers, special attention was paid to the quality control of the educational process. Throughout the entire period, regular working meetings were held to monitor the progress of the courses, discuss current results, and promptly resolve emerging issues.
A key moment of professional exchange was the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno lecturers' attendance of classes taught by their colleagues from Qilu Normal University. This allowed them to become more familiar with the features of China's higher education system, exchange pedagogical experiences, and expand approaches to organizing the educational process.
Yelizaveta Uzlova, Head of the Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology, shared her impressions of working with Chinese colleagues:
"Working with the Chinese side was enlightening. It was interesting to see the pace of the students' work and how they prepare for classes there, because it differs from how they study with us. The students we worked with were very disciplined and active. They always attended classes responsibly and completed their homework".
She also noted the high level of preparedness of Qilu Normal University in terms of receiving and accommodating foreign guests, as well as creating comfortable working conditions. The Chinese side prepared all the necessary materials for the classes and also provided assistants who helped resolve any issues.
"Particular interest was aroused by the serious attention to safety during laboratory classes. It was a challenging but very rewarding experience. We gained a lot of new knowledge from our Chinese colleagues, which we will use in our work," emphasized Yelizaveta Uzlova.
"Unity is Strength": International Online Quiz unites students of Belarus and Russia

On April 2, the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, the traditional thematic quiz "Unity is Strength" took place. The organizers of the international educational platform were the Departments of Foreign Languages of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Saratov State Academy of Law.
The event, held for the third time, united students from partner universities in a single online space. Participants were able to test their knowledge of the history of the Union State, as well as the culture and traditions of the brotherly peoples. A special feature of the quiz is that it is entirely developed in English, which gives the project not only an educational but also a high academic status, allowing students to practice professional vocabulary.
The project demonstrates a steady increase in interest from Belarusian participants. In 2025, 750 representatives from Russian educational institutions and 554 representatives from Belarus took part in the quiz, whereas in 2026, the number of Belarusian participants grew to 690. In total, 1,259 people tested their knowledge this year, including 569 representatives from Russian universities.
The organizers emphasize that the quiz is primarily educational in nature, contributing to the strengthening of friendly ties and mutual understanding between the youth of the two countries.
Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno lecturer Yauheni Auchynnikau showcases his developments at an exhibition in Kazakhstan

Right now, Yauheni Auchynnikau, Head of the Department of Architecture and Construction at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, is participating in the VII International Exhibition on Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking, Kazakhstan Machinery Fair. The event will run until April 4.
The exhibition has brought together experts in the fields of mechanical engineering, metalworking, and welding technologies from Austria, Belarus, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Russia, the United States, Turkey, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, the Republic of Korea, and Japan. In total, about 300 companies are presenting their cutting-edge developments this year.
The exhibition covers the entire manufacturing industry. Visitors have the opportunity to explore developments in 11 thematic sections: metalworking equipment; forging and pressing equipment; foundry equipment; measuring machines, instruments and tools; metal-cutting tools and tooling; robotics, production automation, software; additive technologies, industrial 3D printing; lubricants and cutting fluids; products of machine-building enterprises; electrical equipment and products; industrial logistics and warehouse technologies.
The Republic of Belarus is presenting over 20 innovative developments at the exhibition. Among them are the developments of Yauheni Auchynnikau. He has presented multifunctional graphene-containing electric spark coatings that increase the service life of various types of products and structures; import-substituting thermosetting carbon-containing polymer nanocomposite coatings; and nanocomposite lubricants.
Yauheni Auchynnikau’s participation in such a large-scale event confirms the high scientific potential of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and its readiness to actively participate in the development of mechanical engineering and metalworking.
XI International Scientific and Practical Conference Held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in collaboration with Saratov State Academy of Law

Today, April 3, 2026, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted the XI International Scientific and Practical Conference for Young Scientists, Postgraduates, Students, and Master's Students on the topic: "Information Technologies in Civil Proceedings: Current State and Prospects, Possibilities and Limits of Artificial Intelligence." The event took place using videoconferencing.
The conference was opened by Igar Martynenka, Head of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
"Today's conference is being held for the eleventh time within the framework of contractual relations between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Saratov State Academy of Law. We have established good, productive, scientific, and educational relations," noted Igar Martynenka.
Natalia Bashun, Vice-Rector for Research, addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech.
"On behalf of the Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Iryna Kiturka, and the entire scientific community, allow me to welcome you to the XI International Scientific and Practical Conference, dedicated to one of the most relevant topics of our time – the digital transformation of justice," emphasized Natalia Bashun. "Of course, I want to address our young researchers, scientists, students, master's students, and postgraduates. Participation in the conference opens up broad opportunities: exchanging experiences and ideas, conducting discussions, meeting renowned representatives and leaders of scientific fields. A scientific conference is a platform where new knowledge and ideas are born and discussed, which creates unique opportunities for professional growth".
The purpose of the conference was to examine the concepts of "electronic justice", "electronic proceedings", and "digital justice", as well as to study the problems and prospects of introducing artificial intelligence into justice.
The meeting moderators were: Igar Martynenka, Head of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Doctor of Law, Professor; and Aksana Isaenkova, Head of the Department of Civil Procedure at Saratov State Law Academy, Doctor of Law, Professor.
The conference participants included students and faculty of the Faculty of Law of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, as well as representatives of Saratov State Academy of Law.
Students of YKSUG took part in an intellectual tournament about Belarusian and Russian prominent figures

On April 1, on the eve of the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted the IV International Student Intellectual Tournament in a mixed (in-person and online) format titled "Belarusian and Russian Public Figures (Philosophers, Writers, Politicians) – Jubilarians of 2026". The event brought together nine teams from eight universities across the two countries.
The tournament was dedicated to the anniversaries of prominent figures of Belarus and Russia: Fyodor Dostoevsky, Konstantin Ostrogsky, Kondrat Krapiva, and Mikhail Saltykov-Shchedrin.
The competition was held in two stages. During the first – correspondence – stage, participants were required to submit an application along with a video business card of their team. In this video, they had to talk about one of the jubilarians, explain why that person was chosen by the team, and briefly clarify the significance of celebrating the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia in the team's view.
In the second stage, teams tested their knowledge in the main part of the tournament. Three tasks awaited them. In the first task, teams prepared a short presentation on the topic "Challenges and Prospects for the Development of East Slavic Peoples in the 21st Century." The second task, titled "Five Whys?", required participants to first familiarize themselves with the biographies of the prominent jubilarians and then answer questions about them. The third task was a reflective one. Teams were given quotes from the jubilarians, which they had to interpret, explaining what they believed the main idea of the statement was and how relevant it is in our time.
Following a fierce competition, the team from Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno deservedly took first place, sharing it with representatives from Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia.
The jury of the competition included representatives from both countries: Tatyana Leontyeva, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Mass Communication Languages at the School of Public Administration and Entrepreneurship of Ural Federal University; Svetlana Varyanitsa, Deputy Chairperson of the Grodno Regional Organization of the "Belaya Rus" Public Association; Irina Kalecheva, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Leading Specialist of the Research Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the National Library of Belarus; and Alexandra Dubravina, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
The goal of the tournament was not only to jointly celebrate a holiday important to both countries but also to strengthen the East Slavic unity of Belarus and Russia and to popularize the ideas of prominent figures among young people.
The tournament organizers were the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Pedagogy at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, the Grodno Regional Organization of the "Belaya Rus" Public Association, and the School of Public Administration and Entrepreneurship of Ural Federal University.
"Belarus and Russia: Intersection of Destinies" – a dialogue at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

On April 2, the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno became a venue for an open dialogue dedicated to the partnership relations between the two countries. The meeting brought together faculty and 1st–5th year students seeking a deeper understanding of the historical path and prospects of Belarusian-Russian cooperation.
The event was opened by Siarhei Amelka, Head of the Department of Belarusian History, Archaeology and Special Historical Disciplines. Siarhei Amelka presented the historical context of Russian-Belarusian relations to the participants, highlighting the key stages of their development. As part of the meeting, a report from the First Information Channel News.by, "Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia: How It All Began and What Has Been Achieved Together?", was screened. The video allowed participants to visually trace the path traveled by Belarus and Russia and appreciate the scale of jointly implemented projects.
Aliaksandr Arlukevich, Deputy Dean for Ideological and Educational Work of the Faculty of Psychology, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and Sociology, Candidate of Historical Sciences, presented a report titled "The Union State: Achievements and Prospects". Aliaksandr Arlukevich analyzed the key successes in the development of the Union State and outlined the main directions for its further strengthening.
Professor Edmund Jarmusik, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Belarusian History, Archaeology and Special Historical Disciplines of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism, presented a report on "Cooperation between the Grodno Region and the Regions of Russia: Current State and Prospects". In his speech, Edmund Jarmusik paid special attention to the practical aspects of interaction at the regional level, identifying both existing achievements and potential opportunities for further development.
Meeting with a delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus took place at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

The delegation included Alisher Babaev, Advisor to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus; Consul Nodir Usarov; Aziz Rakhimov, Assistant to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus; and Azizkhuja Ganikhujaev, Assistant to the Consul. The meeting was held today, April 2.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee: Yuri Vorobey, Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department, and Yulia Byk, Deputy Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department; representatives of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno: Aksana Kotava, Head of the Ideological and Educational Work Department; Alena Belakoz, Head of the Education Internationalization Center; Alesia Belko, Head of the International Projects and Academic Mobility Department; Volha Minava, Head of the International Cooperation Department; as well as students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno who are citizens of Uzbekistan.
Cooperation between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan dates back to 2009, when a Cooperation Agreement was signed with the Tashkent Automobile and Road Institute, now known as the Tashkent State Transport University. To date, YKSUG collaborates with universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan under 29 interuniversity agreements, six of which were signed in 2025.
Today's visit was the sixth and began with a welcome speech by Liavontsi Paulau, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
"Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan visit our university regularly, which indicates the attention paid to us not only by the Embassy representatives but by the entire country," noted Liavontsi Paulau.
Alisher Babaev, Advisor to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus, also addressed the meeting participants. In his speech, Alisher Babaev emphasized that the Embassy's doors are always open to citizens of his country and that students can count on help and support by reaching out with any issues — as protecting the interests of their compatriots remains a priority of the diplomatic mission.
Special attention at the meeting was paid to compliance with internal regulations and public order. The participants discussed preventive measures for delinquency prevention aimed at improving legal awareness and fostering responsible behavior among international students. After the open dialogue, the students actively inquired about the possibility of doing internships at the Embassy.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus was given a tour of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.
