Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno will participate in the International Innovation Exhibition and Research Competition HI-TECH-2021

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno will participate in the International Innovation Exhibition and Research Competition HI-TECH-2021

The exhibition «High Technologies. Innovation. Investment» will take place on April 21-23 in Saint Petersburg.
In the collective section of scientific and technical development of the Ministry of Education of Belarus at the International Exhibition «High Technologies. Innovation. Investment» (HI-TECH) two developments will be presented by Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The developer of «Digital Systems of Spectral Measurement Automation» is Andrey Herman, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering. The development is intended for the automation of spectral measurements in the creation of new and modernization of existing scientific installations and laboratory equipment used in optical spectroscopy.
The second project, which will be presented at the exhibition and also take part in the competition «Best Innovative Project and Best Scientific and Technical Development of the Year» is - «Energy-efficient Thermal Insulation Foam Glass Material». Scientists of Yanka Kupala State University have developed the optimal structure of foam glass in order to reduce its energy consumption and cost of production. It is a modification of the classical foam glass by replacing the traditional gas reservoir with a local raw material resource, dolomite flour, and the use of granite cuttings to reduce energy costs up to 30 percent during the milling of raw materials. The proposed material can be used for the thermal rehabilitation of existing buildings and structures, as well as for the heating of building structures of new buildings and structures. It is worth noting that at present no foam-glass is produced in the Republic of Belarus at all, and in the Russian Federation the volume of foam-glass is less than 5 per cent of the volume of heat-insulating materials produced. On the other hand, the prevalence of cullet in the national economy and the intensive waste from the stone processing industry imply their integrated use in the production of building materials, in particular foam-glass. A team of scientists from the Engineering and Construction faculty of Yanka Kupala State University worked on the project. The promotion of development is carried out by the assistant professor of the department of construction production, project manager Dmitry Safonchik and senior lecturer, project developer Svetlana Maksimovich. The research phase has now been completed. At the competition in Saint Petersburg, the development of Yanka Kupala State University will be presented in the nomination «The best innovative project (development) in the field: new materials and technologies, chemical products». HI-TECH is one of the first Russian events in the field of high technology, innovation and investment projects in the field of science and technology. The exhibition is held jointly with the Saint Petersburg Technical Fair, which opens new business opportunities for the participants of the event. The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus has been taking part in the exhibition HI-TECH and the competition of scientific developments since 2007. This year, 40 projects will be presented from 12 organizations and institutions of the Ministry of Education of Belarus. In 2020, representatives of the Yanka Kupala State University brought from Saint Petersburg a diploma and a special prize for the development of «Hybrid technologies for the creation of especially hard and super-solid nanocomposite vacuum coatings». In 2019, students of Yanka Kupala State University were awarded a diploma for active participation in the International Exhibition HI-TECH. In 2016, at the National Exhibition of the Republic of Belarus at the International Exhibition-Congress «High Technologies. Innovation. Investment» the development of scientists of Yanka Kupala State University was awarded with the 2nd degree and silver medal for the best innovative project (development) in the field of nano-systems, nano-devices, nano-materials, nano-technologies, nano-electronics, nano-photonics, spintronics, Bionics, nano-computers, nano-medications.
