Environmental cooperation within the Union State: Students of YKSUG and staff took part in an International Youth Forum

V International Youth Environmental Educational Forum was held in Minsk at the Belarusian State Technological University from May 19 to 22. Our university was represented at the forum by Volha Kremleva, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology, and third-year students specializing in "Ecology."

This year, the event brought together representatives from 16 leading specialized universities of Belarus and Russia: Siberian State University of Engineering and Biotechnology; Primorsky State Agrarian and Technological University; Orenburg State Agrarian University; Udmurt State Agrarian University; Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov; Bashkir State Agrarian University; Saint Petersburg State Forestry University named after S.M. Kirov; Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University; Belarusian State University; Belarusian State Agricultural Academy; Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Belarusian State Technological University.

At the discussion platforms, our representatives successfully presented their scientific developments in the fields of environmental protection, forestry, and sustainable natural resource management, discussing key industry challenges with leading experts from both countries.

The practical part of the forum took place at the Negoreloe Forestry Experimental Station. Participants familiarized themselves with the work of the botanical garden, the "House of Nature" museum, the unique "Skazka" ecological trail, and assessed modern forest industry technologies of Belarus during a visit to the Republican Forest Breeding and Seed Production Center. It is worth noting that the representatives of YKSUG distinguished themselves not only in science: at the electronic shooting range, our students won prize places in shooting.

A special place in the program was occupied by a visit to the "Khatyn" memorial complex. This made it possible to combine the environmental agenda of the forum with patriotic education and the preservation of historical memory. Participation in the forum helped strengthen inter-university ties and opened up new prospects for joint projects among young scientists of Belarus and Russia.
