Yanka Kupala State University will host advanced training courses “Organization and technical support of the educational process using ICT”

The participants of the courses, which will start on January 18, will be the heads and specialists of the educational and methodological offices of Kupala University.
The course program includes three training modules. Students will learn a lot of useful information about Yanka Kupala State University Educational Portal as an interactive educational platform, as well as about Google services for learning and will master the creation of a collaborative learning environment in Microsoft Teams. All information will be presented in an accessible, visual and fascinating way. Course instructors will provide step-by-step instructions on how to create digital products and share examples of using digital services and tools.
Classes will be held from January 18 to 29 in the morning in the room 213 in the main academic building of Kupala University at 22 Ozheshko Street. Heads and specialists of the training rooms of Yanka Kupala State University are invited to take part in the advanced training courses “Organization and technical support of the educational process using ICT”.

Employees of Kupala University became participants of a training seminar for lecturers of the Republican society “Knowledge”

Representatives of Yanka Kupala State State University took part in the discussion of topical issues of socio-economic and socio-political development of the country at the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus.
At the opening of the seminar on topical issues of socio-economic and socio-political development of the Republic of Belarus, Rector of the Academy of Management Vyacheslav Danilovich addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. Valery Belsky, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Development of the Financial and Credit system, Svetlana Aleynikova, analyst at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, and Pavel Yeliseyev, Deputy Head of the Department for Supervision of the Observance of Citizens’ Rights and Freedoms, also made reports on various topics as experts.
The seminar was held on January 16 in the format of an open dialogue, when each of the participants could ask a question and get a detailed, competent answer to it. Head of the Department of Educational work with Youth Oksana Kotova and Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Education Snezhana Semernik took part in the event on behalf of Yanka Kupala State University.

Yanka Kupala State University presented a new Strategy for the development of the university for the next five years

A meeting of the University Council was held at Kupala University, during which they summed up the results of work over the past five – year period and defined development plans for 2021-2025 with a perspective until 2030.
The University Council was attended by Yuri Karaev, Assistant to the President for the Grodno Region, and Viktor Pranyuk, Deputy Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, member of the Council of Yanka Kupala State University.
Addressing members and guests of the meeting, rector of Yanka Kupala State University Iryna Kiturka noted that a feature of the upcoming 2021 – start of implementation of the new Strategy of the University – Strategy of priority development, which is one of the defining documents of the institution of education.
— Last year was not only a year of challenges and opportunities for our university. We have once again proved that we can work in non-standard conditions, and the new Strategy is designed to bring us to a qualitatively new level of development, — said Iryna Kiturka.
The rector of Kupala University began her report by summing up the results of the implementation of the Strategy 2016-2020. Among the significant achievements of the University is an active development of innovative structure of educational institutions, participation in the pilot project of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus "University 3.0", the creation of Scientific-Technological Park, Technology Transfer Centre, Foundation for innovative development, Innovative media and Grodno regional educational clusters, the project "Digital University +", open new demanded specialties.
Also on the list of significant results of activities — leadership among institutions of higher education of the Republic of Belarus on the results of five international rankings, the prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for achievements in quality, adding to the national Board of Honour in the category "Scientific organization", the victory in the national University games and national print media contest "Golden Letter".
—The achievements of the past years show that our university is not just keeping up with the times. We focus not only on the requirements of today, but also tomorrow. These results confirm that we are focused on success and are ready to become a university of advanced development, — said Iryna Kiturka.
Presenting the new Development Strategy of Yanka Kupala State University, Iryna Kiturka stressed that the document is based on a project approach. These are five areas of strategic planning: "Innovation-sensitive University", "Personality-oriented University", "University without Borders", "University of Sustainable Development", and "Smart University".
Each of the projects sets specific goals and objectives for the university staff. Thus, the project "Innovative and receptive University" involves the creation of a high-tech intelligent university complex through the formation of innovative social development, research and entrepreneurial activities at the university, “Smart University” — ensuring the advanced development of educational institutions based on the introduction of "smart" infrastructure using the formation of digital thinking of students and university staff, “University of Sustainable Development” — the creation of a sustainable development of the University through the development of inclusive and environmentally friendly environment, "University without borders" — implementation of its activities beyond the physical boundaries of the University, "student-centered University" — the formation of harmonious development of human potential of the University on the basis of the principle of humanization and improvement of individual approach and system of investment in the process of identity formation. Each of the directions involves specific activities and indicators of achievement of goals.
As Viktor Pranyuk, Deputy Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee and member of the University Council, noted during the meeting, the University's Development Strategy is closely linked to the development of the Grodno region, where most of the university's graduates work: "It is gratifying that the tasks of the new University Strategy correspond to the goals that the Grodno region and our state face today. The planned directions fully correspond to the modern realities that are taking place in the world, —said the Deputy Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee.
In turn, the Assistant to the President for the Grodno region Yuri Karaev thanked Kupala University for its contribution to the effective development of the region and the active introduction of innovations.
At the end of the event, the rector of the University Iryna Kiturka congratulated all employees and students of Yanka Kupala State University on the upcoming holidays, wishing them good health, self-confidence, and building a new successful personal development trajectory for everyone.

The history of strategic planning at Yanka Kupala State University dates back more than 20 years. In the first strategic plan of Kupala University, which was called "Improving the multi-level management system", the Mission and Vision of the university, the main goals and priorities of development were formulated for the first time. After that, three strategies of Yanka Kupala State University were adopted. The School of a Young Philologist in German of Yanka Kupala State University invites applicants to join the classes

The language school for 11th grade students will start working from January 30.
Participation in the school will help applicants to prepare for the CT in German and work with tests on it, improve their language skills and abilities, get a free individual consultation on the main grammatical topics. Classes will be conducted by teachers of the Department of Romano-Germanic Philology of the Faculty of Philology.
Classes will be held for several months on Saturdays from 10.00 to 12.00 at the address: Grodno, Ozheshko str., 22, room 337 (Center for German Language and Culture). Students of the 11th grade are invited to participate. You can join the School at any time.

The winter examination session at Kupala University takes place taking into account the epidemiological situation

Yanka Kupala State University has defined the procedure for organizing the current and final certification of students of full-time and part-time forms of higher education in the upcoming winter examination session.
Examinations will be passed mostly in written form. They are held in classrooms where the number of seats exceeds the number of students in the group by at least two times. If it is necessary to conduct the exam orally, the group will be divided into subgroups of up to 7 people. After each exam, the audience is sanitized. Consultations before examinations are held with the use of information and communication technologies.
For students who are in self-isolation, it is possible to pass exams on an individual basis using information and communication technologies. The exam using ICT is conducted orally with mandatory visualization of the student's preparation and response.
Students who complete their studies at the university in January 2021 will take state exams full-time. At the same time, if the final certification involves only the defense of a diploma project or master's thesis, then it can be carried out using ICT with mandatory visualization and video recording.
During the laboratory-examination session for students of correspondence form of higher education in January – February 2021, theoretical training, intermediate control activities will be organized using information and communication technologies, if there is a technical possibility on the part of students. Laboratory classes and current certification will be conducted in the last week of the session in person in the classrooms of the university.

Representatives of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University visited Yanka Kupala State University

The visit of representatives of the foreign university took place from December 7 to 11 as part of the "Visiting Professor" programme.
Head of the Department "Jurisprudence"of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, Doctor of Law, Professor Yermek Buribayev and Doctor of Law, Professor Zhanna Khamzina gave lectures and conducted practical classes for students of the specialties "Jurisprudence" and "Economic Law".
Also, Professor Yermek Buribayev held a seminar on the publication of scientific articles in the journals Scopus and Web of Science, shared his experience with the journals included in these databases, paid special attention to the problems of scientific articles, the order of their placement in the databases, the features of registration in accordance with the requirements.
During the visit, a meeting was also held with the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of Kupala University Yuri Bialykh, where they discussed issues of further cooperation regarding participation in scientific conferences, internships of doctoral students and teachers, publications in journals and collections.

Eight teachers and employees of Yanka Kupala State University were awarded grants by the Rector for the completion of candidate and doctoral dissertations

The results of the competition for the rector's grants were announced during the meeting of the commission on December 24.
Rector Iryna Kiturka noted that Kupala University pays great attention to the training of highly qualified scientific personnel. The competition for grants of the Rector for the defense of doctoral and candidate theses has been held since 2014.
– I want to draw the attention of applicants to the fact that one of the main conditions for giving grants to the rector is the defense of a dissertation next year, – Iryna Kiturka addressed the applicants and members of the commission at the beginning of the meeting. - The rector's grant is allocated, first of all, for holding meetings with managers, opponents and reviewers, for other scientific events that are necessary for the completion of your dissertations.
Each applicant for a grant during the meeting outlined the topic of their dissertation, told about where and when the defense is planned, and also answered questions from members of the commission. After that, the results of the competition for the rector's grants were summed up.

"What is financial literacy?"

A series of educational events for schoolchildren of Grodno was held by students of the Law Faculty of Yanka Kupala State University
Kupalovtsy told high school students about finance and financial literacy, talked about the qualities and habits of a financially literate person, devoted to the basics of the rules of saving money.
It should be noted that the project "Financial Literacy" is implemented within the framework of practice-oriented training of students of the Faculty of Law in the disciplines "Financial Law" and "Tax Law". The project has been managed for about 10 years by Associate Professor of the Department of International Law Lilia Abramchik. Students are invited to participate in the project after completing training courses in the following disciplines: they prepare presentations on a given topic and then participate in educational events for high school students of schools, gymnasiums, lyceums of the Grodno region and other regions. By the way, students of other faculties of Kupala University also took part in the project in the past years.
An educational event on the topic "What is financial literacy?" with students of the 11th grade of Gymnasium No. 3 in Grodno was held by students of the 4th year of the specialty "Economic Law" of the Faculty of Law Valery Baitzer and Alena Zhurnevich. In total, 10 such educational meetings were held this year.

"Belarus has a kind heart": Kupala residents were thanked for their active participation in the Republican campaign of free blood donation

The Grodno Regional Centre of Transfusiology sent thanks to Yanka Kupala State University and the participants of the action.
Valentina Semak, Deputy Chief Medical Officer of the Grodno Regional Centre for Transfusiology, expressed her gratitude to Kupala University. She sincerely thanked the staff and students of Yanka Kupala State University for their help and support in carrying out the campaign of gratuitous voluntary donation, for involving young people and students in good deeds, and wished them prosperity and success in all their endeavors.
By the way, in 2020, 219 people became gratuitous donors within the framework of the campaign from Kupala University. And 104 are blood donors on a permanent basis.
Also, as the head of the Health Protection Centre of Yanka Kupala State University Marina Kravets noted, those Kupala residents who were ill with coronavirus infection became plasma donors.
