Online meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, representatives of South-Eastern University, Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

The event was held in online form on November, 17.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was represented by Rector, Iryna Kiturka; First Vice-Rector, Aliaksandr Kareusky; Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Yury Bialykh; Vice-Rector for Research, Andrey Pranevich; Vice-Rector for Human Resources and Security, Alexey Bezzubik; Vice-Rector, Nikalai Voitka; Head of the Education Internalization Centre, Alena Belakoz, as well as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Marina Karpickaya and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Construction, Alla Volick. The translation was carried out by the senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages Olga Perkova.

Prof. Janitha Abeywickrem Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador, Prof. Ranjana W. Seneviratne, Vice Chancellor of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, Prof. A. Rameez, Vice Chancellor of the South-Eastern University addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.

Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Iryna Kiturka also welcomed all participants of the meeting. She thanked the Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation for organizing the second meeting with Sri Lankan universities, for the opportunity to establish new contacts and determine fields of cooperation between universities.

«Today's meeting is taking place within the framework of the project «University without borders». Our university has concluded more than 200 agreements of international cooperation. Today, students from 36 countries study at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. Openness to the world is an important strategic direction for the development of our university. Information and communication technologies expand the range of joint activities that can be implemented within the framework of cooperation,» Irina Kiturka noted.

Cooperation proposals from Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno were presented by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Yuri Belykh, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Marina Karpitskaya and Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Alla Volik.

During the online meeting, the guests were able to get acquainted with the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine and South-Eastern University.
