The event dedicated to the celebration of the 201st anniversary of Brazil's Independence took place on September 7 in Minsk. At the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Republic of Belarus Bernard Georg Leopold de Garcia Klingle, the staff and students of Kupala University took part in the celebration.
On behalf of the rector and the entire staff of the University, the head of the Center for Internationalization of Education, Elena Belokoz, gave His Excellency a memorable gift and a congratulatory address in which Irina Fedorovna congratulated Mr. Ambassador on the main national holiday, wished prosperity to the friendly Brazilian people and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation between our countries in the educational space.
During the event, 12 2nd-year students of the specialty "Linguistic support of intercultural communications" of the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism had the opportunity to continue their acquaintance with the Brazilian ambassador, which took place during his official visit to Grodno in June this year, and establish new contacts with invited ambassadors of other states.
The event was also attended by the head of the Cultural Center "Festival" Edgar Retz and Associate Professor of the Department of Translation and Intercultural Communication Nelly Ovchinnikova − heads of the practice on intercultural communication, within which the threads of friendship between the city of Grodno, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and the Brazilian representation in our country stretched.

The delegation headed by the Rector of the University Ahmed Reimov visited Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno to establish new vectors of cooperation and search for common ground. The cooperation between partner universities is based on the agreement on international cooperation, which was concluded in 2021.
Cooperation between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and educational institutions of Uzbekistan allows students and teachers to exchange knowledge and experience, broaden their horizons and improve the level of professional training. In addition, such interaction contributes to the strengthening of cultural ties between the two countries and the formation of a positive image of each other.
During the meeting, the scientific and educational experience and potential of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno were presented, educational opportunities for bachelor's and master's degree programs, postgraduate studies, as well as opportunities to participate in scientific and educational events were presented. The delegation of the partner university also prepared a presentation about its university.
During the meeting, an agreement was signed on the implementation of a joint educational program between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Berdakh Karakalpak State University.
The meeting ended with a solemn ceremony, during which Ahmed Reimov was awarded the title of honorary professor.

The Faculty of Economics and Management of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno continues to develop international cooperation with higher educational institutions of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Priority in this case is given to student exchanges and internships. After all, it is especially useful for young people to have friendly foreign experience, which they will be able to apply for the benefit of our country in the near future.
According to the results of the competitive selection, a 3rd-year student of the specialty "World Economy" and an active participant in the student scientific society of the FEU, Alexander Zichikov, was sent to Voronezh State University http://www.vsu.ru/ (Russian Federation) to study during the spring semester of 2023. He was enrolled as a student of the Faculty of Economics in the specialty "World Economy".
The training program at Voronezh State University took into account Alexander's individual trajectory and combined a wide range of courses in such subjects as international relations, tourism studies, accounting for foreign economic activity, customs management, world economy and international economic relations, instruments for regulating foreign economic relations.
During the academic semester, the student prepared a scientific paper on the topic "The role of interregional cooperation in deepening the integration processes of Belarus and Russia", and also took an active part in public life, scientific, sports and cultural events of Voronezh State University − a fencing master class from the fencing club "Phoenix", an Interregional Youth Forum, a cultural school "Dialogue of cultures in the global world", International Student Gathering "Among our own".
Thanks to the individual training schedule, Alexander Zichikov had the opportunity to visit various cities of Russia with excursions and get acquainted with the cultural component of the country.
Alexander noted that participation in the academic mobility program is a unique experience that promotes professional growth. We would like to add that all members of the university faculties have ample opportunities to participate in similar student exchange programs with partner universities from friendly states. Activists of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth "Movement of the First" of the Kaliningrad region shared their experiences and projects, representatives from the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and the Belarusian Republican Pioneer Organization told about their areas of work with the younger generation.
Recall that the delegation of the Grodno region headed by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Elena Pasyuta visited the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation on a business visit from June 11 to 15. Kupala residents take part in the International Youth Competition of social anti-corruption advertising "Together against Corruption!" and go on a trip to Moscow.
The purpose of the youth competition of social anti–corruption advertising "Together against Corruption!" is to attract young people to participate in the prevention of corruption, to develop and use social anti-corruption advertising to prevent corruption manifestations; to form the practice of interaction of society with bodies engaged in anti-corruption activities.
The competition promotes anti-corruption education of the population, the formation of an intolerant attitude towards corruption in society. The organizer of the competition is the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
Contestants aged 14 to 35 are invited to prepare thematic social advertising in the nomination "Best Poster" and "Best video".
To participate in the competition of social anti-corruption advertising "Together against Corruption!", you must register on the official website of the competition by filling out the registration form and confirm your consent to the rules of the competition, as well as consent to the processing of personal data. The opening ceremony of the International University Sports Festival was held at the Yekaterinburg EXPO Congress Center.
The International University Sports Festival takes place in Yekaterinburg from August 19 to 31. Students from 36 countries compete for 197 sets of medals in 14 sports.

The Summer School of the Belarusian Language and Culture has finished its work at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno
The educational project "Under the bright name of Y. Kupala" for foreign students was held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno from August 4 to August 16.
Listeners, teachers and organizers – the closing of the summer school of the Belarusian language and culture was attended by everyone who actively participated in its work for two weeks.
The participants of the educational project were representatives of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Heidelberg University, the Institute of Russian Language and Culture, Voronezh State University and foreign students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. During their participation in the Summer School, they had the opportunity not only to get acquainted with the Belarusian language, but also to touch the spiritual and cultural wealth of Belarus -to take part in master classes and numerous excursions.
It is noteworthy that the closing of the summer school of the Belarusian language and culture was held in a warm, friendly atmosphere - with a pleasant conversation and summing up. Nikolay Grinko, the responsible organizer - director of the Scientific Library of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, expressed gratitude for the participation and joint work of the listeners. He noted the high level of education and culture of foreign participants. In turn, the audience also thanked the organizers and teachers for the warm welcome at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and useful practical experience.

The event was held on August 14 and brought together representatives of Tomsk Polytechnic University, Tomsk State University and Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

The floor was also given to Maxim Usov, Technical Director of Enbisis LLC, who made a presentation of the project "Online system of adaptive mathematics teaching Digital Tutor Plario" jointly with Tomsk State University.
The participants of the meeting actively discussed promising areas of interuniversity cooperation, including joint scientific activities and research in the field of metamaterials, life safety technologies, biotechnologies, etc., academic mobility programs for students and teachers, including within the framework of the "Visiting Professor" program; design and implementation of joint educational programs in the field of radio electronics and artificial intelligence, conducting joint summer schools, internships, etc.
In addition, the meeting discussed the project "The History of Russia and Belarus in the history of cities", proposed for implementation by the Administration of the Tomsk region. It is planned that the project aimed at patriotic education of young people will be implemented in the format of winter and summer schools. The selection of candidates for participation in this project will be based on the results of
a history competition among university students from two countries – Belarus and Russia.
At the end of the meeting, the guests exchanged souvenirs.
Volunteer's diary: Kupala residents have completed their work at the II Games of the CIS countries
On August 13, a solemn ceremony of awarding champions and prize-winners of the II Games of the CIS countries in field hockey took place.
Over the course of ten days, athletes from more than twenty countries competed for awards in twenty sports. Sports competitions in weightlifting and field hockey 5 * 5, which took place in Grodno, met the expectations of both our volunteers and all participants, guests and organizers of the celebration of sports.
The II Games of the CIS countries is a real holiday and an excellent experience of holding large–scale sports competitions in our country.
Creative, bright, friendly and energetic – this is how the audience and athletes of the II CIS Games in Grodno will remember the Kupala volunteers. Our guys completely immersed themselves in the competitions and were able to make them unforgettable for everyone!

– The impressions are simply incredible! I got a lot of adrenaline during the competition. I liked working with people. My profession is connected with this, and during my volunteering I received additional competencies. In the press center, I helped journalists navigate the competition facility, watched their work, gained experience. Acting as a translator, I learned to work quickly. While working at the information desk, I told people about the sights of our city, and heard their enthusiastic reviews in response," the girl emotionally shared.
Ksenia Litovchik, student of the Faculty of Philology, volunteer:
– I accompanied weightlifters from Vietnam. During the days spent in Grodno, we really became friends. Their reward is two silver and a bronze! After the performances, the guys had a few free days before leaving for their homeland, and they spent them together with the Vietnamese, who have long settled and live in Grodno. How friendly they are! And hospitable, like us, Belarusians. We walked around the city together, saw the sights, even went to visit the dacha of a Vietnamese family who has been living here for decades. The guys were delighted with our city, Belarus," Ksenia said.
FOR REFERENCE: As a result of the II CIS Games, Belarus won 236 medals (48 gold, 78 silver, 110 bronze), taking second place in the overall standings. In the first place is Russia, which has won 288 awards (149, 89, 50). Uzbekistan is in third place — it has 105 medals (28, 25, 52).

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted the presentation of certificates to participants of the Summer School of the Russian Language
For two weeks, foreign guests from China, Italy, New Zealand and Poland studied Russian. On Friday, August 11, a solemn ceremony of awarding certificates took place.
Before handing certificates to the participants, the organizers prepared an interactive program, thanks to which they summed up the results of the Summer School of the Russian Language. After summing up the results, the participants were awarded personal certificates of the Summer School of the Russian Language.
Students Dominik Szczepanyak from Poland, Christian Ecker from Italy, Ker Han Woon from New Zealand, Jinjun Shuai and Liang Zhao from China thanked the teachers and expressed their desire to become participants of the school in 2024.
Each student of the Summer School not only fully immersed himself in the educational process, but also gained invaluable experience. Learning Russian is an important and useful skill for foreigners. Russian is one of the six official languages of the United Nations and is used as a second language in many countries.
Russian is the main advantage of learning the Russian language is the opportunity to communicate with more than 250 million native speakers of Russian around the world. This makes Russian useful for those who work in international companies or plan to travel to other countries.
It is worth noting that the Summer School was established in 2014 on the basis of the Faculty of Pre-university Training and the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and Linguistic Disciplines (as the department was originally called). The project was headed by the associate professor of the Department of Modern Technologies of Pre-University Education of the Faculty of Pre-university Training Inna Samoilova.

Kupala students among the winners at the II Games of the CIS countries
Athletes from Kupala continue to delight with the results at the II Games of the CIS countries. This time Yaroslav Iodkovsky won the bronze, and Elizaveta Tsydik won the gold.
Yaroslav Iodkovsky, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of Physical Culture of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, won a bronze medal in freestyle wrestling in the 92 kg weight category.
Freestyle wrestling requires endurance, strength and flexibility from an athlete, which leads to an improvement in overall physical fitness. This sport helps to develop coordination of movements and balance, which can be useful in everyday life.
On August 9, the competition program started with the qualification of an individual tournament for girls in shooting from a small-caliber rifle from three positions, according to the results of which the medalists of the team championship were determined. The first Belarusian team consisting of Daria Chupris, Nicole Kurylenok and Elizaveta Tsydik won gold in this discipline, the Russian team won silver, and the athletes from Kazakhstan won bronze medals.
Recall that Elizaveta Tsydik, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Physical Culture of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, won silver in the team shooting tournament.
