 Preparatory department for International Citizens includes learning of the Russian language and academic subjects necessary to enter Higher Educational Establishments of the Republic of Belarus to obtain higher education in accordance with the chosen training profile.

AIC is a member of the IMC AIC Education Consortium, a transnational education service conglomerate with a vision to provide total higher education under one roof. American International Campus is the official advertising representative of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and provides recruitment of candidates for training in Sri Lanka and the Republic of Maldives. It also provides additional services, including:

  • organization of the arrival of applicants to the place of study;
  • organization of the meeting at the airport, transfer to the place of residence, meals during the first 3 days of stay;
  • assistance during medical examination, obtaining a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Belarus, preparing documents for entering the university, finding housing, adapting to the conditions of residence in the host country during the school year;

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno authorizes the AIC Campus to conduct training of the following university programs:

Yanka Kupala State University expands cooperation with the University of Gdansk in the Republic of Poland

As part of the Erasmus + program Inna Samoilova, Head of the Language Training Department of Belarusian and Foreign Citizens of Yanka Kupala State University visited the Institute of Russian Studies and Oriental Studies at the University of Gdansk.

         During the visit, Inna Samoilova told Polish students about Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, its history and the opportunities that  provides to Belarusian and foreign students, and lectured to the students of the Russian Philology and Russian Studies departments about the identification of the national cultural component in languages.

         She also met with the faculty of the Department of Pragmatics of Communication and Linguodidactics. The parties discussed the prospects for the implementation of joint scientific, academic and project activities and identified relevant topics of research in the field of linguodidactics. In addition, the possibilities of preparing joint monographs and articles for publication in scientific journals that are part of the Scopus database, Web of Science were considered

Delegation from Xi'an Jiaotong University on 8 April visited Yanka Kupala State University for the first time

Cooperation issues in the field of research and international student exchange were discussed at the meeting by the leadership of Yanka Kupala University with representatives of Xi'an Jiaotong University.

During the meeting, the guests were provided with information about the structure of the university, specialties and scientific developments. The deans of the faculties of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, the Faculty of Physics and Technology, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Innovative Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Civil Engineering told about possible areas of joint cooperation.

Colleagues from China presented the priority directions for the development of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Among them - energy, engineering, mathematical, physical science and others.

Mr. Sun Yusya, Acting Deputy Dean of the School of International Education, noted that Xi'an Jiaotong University is primarily interested in cooperating with Yanka Kupala State University in the field of scientific research, as well as in the joint preparation of students.

The Chinese side invited students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno to study at the Summer School of Chinese at Xi'an Jiaotong University, as well as for graduate studies. In addition, a proposal was made for Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno to enter the association of universities and consulting companies of the Silk Road countries. For the guests we had a tour of the university and made a photo for memory.

Students of the Faculty of Physical Education of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno got acquainted with advanced methods of teaching swimming

Within the framework of the academic exchange program “Erasmus +”, Viorel Bitang visited the faculty of physical education, a professor at the Department of Physical Education of the Aurel Vlaicu University in Arad (Romania).

A meeting was held with the leadership of the Faculty of Physical Education, as well as with representatives of the departments of sports disciplines and physical education and sport. The prospects for cooperation in the field of methodological and scientific activities were discussed. It is worth noting that the parties plan to prepare joint publications in journals from the databases of Web of Science, Scopus, and also to develop joint projects that are associated with the improvement of education in the field of physical culture and sports.

In addition, Professor Viorel Bitang conducted classes on the discipline "Swimming and teaching methods" for students of the Faculty of Physical Education, during which students learned about the technique of sports swimming, characterizing special exercises, with which you can improve the development of skills of performance paddle in various ways of swimming.

Bialystok Universities delegation visited Yanka Kupala State University

The visit of students and staff from Bialystok Technical University and University in Bialystok to the Faculty of Civil Engineering took place on 12 April.

During the meeting, the guests were introduced to the history, specialties, scientific developments of students and teachers of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The delegation from Poland was greeted by Vladimir Barsukov, Head of the Department of Technical Mechanics of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. He told that today Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is engaged in an active dialogue with many foreign universities, and one of the priority areas of cooperation is joint research and academic exchange of teachers and students.

The parties discussed the directions of possible cooperation in the framework of the meeting “Prospects for inter-university cross-border cooperation”. It is worth noting that the delegation from Poland showed interest in cooperation in the field of construction, architecture, history and archeology, as well as in the mutual exchange of students and teachers.

In addition, the guests were invited on a tour of the historic part of the city, where they met with architectural monuments and landmark places of Grodno.

 

REPRESENTATIVES OF YANKA KUPALA STATE UNIVERSITY PARTICIPATED IN A CEREMONY HONORING THE WINNERS OF THE IV EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY GAMES AND THE WORLD STUDENT CHAMPIONSHIPS

The solemn event was held in the Minsk City Hall on February 26.

The Minister of Education Igor Karpenko addressed the event with a welcoming speech and noted that Belarusian student-athletes adequately represent the country at the World Championships among students, European University Games and World Universiades.

The Minister of Sport and Tourism Sergey Kovalchuk, the Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee, the Rector of the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture Sergey Repkin, the first secretary of the BRSM Central Committee Dmitry Voronyuk, the Chairman of the Belarusian University Sports Association Alexander Bogdanovich, representatives of sports federations, coaches, participants teams also took part in this event. Two students of the Faculty of Physical Education of Yanka Kupala State University Ilya Lavrinovich and Shuai Mamedov, silver and bronze winners of the XIII World Wrestling Championship among students in Brazil, and their coach, Vyacheslav Maksimovic, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Yanka Kupala State University took part and presented our University.

YANKA KUPALA STATE UNIVERSITY EXPANDS COOPERATION WITH THE BALTIC UNIVERSITY NETWORK

The teachers of Yanka Kupala State University visited Tallinn University as part of the EduBUP project “Redefining pedagogy for the implementation of education for sustainable development in the Baltic University programme” Within the framework of the project, a scientific-practical seminar was held in Tallinn.

         Coordinator of the Baltic University programme at Yanka Kupala State University, associate professor of the department of translation and intercultural communication Elena Gulevich, associate professor of the department of ecology Olga Kremleva, senior teacher of the department of Romance-Germanic philology Elena Jukh and head of the Legal Clinic, senior teacher of the department of civil law and process Natalia Ramult attended the meeting.

During the meetings, the priority areas of cooperation of Yanka Kupala State University with the universities of the Baltic Sea region, which are part of the Baltic University network, were discussed.

As part of the report, Olga Kremleva and Elena Jukh told how the components of education for sustainable development are being introduced into the educational, scientific-methodical and educational processes at Yanka Kupala State University.

Elena Gulevich and Natalia Ramult presented a draft of an interdisciplinary project on the implementation of the principles of sustainable development at the YKSUG: intercultural and law issues. It is planned that the project will be implemented by the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism and the Faculty of Law together with the Gdansk University of Technology (Poland).

In total, 17 teams from universities in Belarus, Poland, the Baltic states, Russia and Ukraine presented their ideas on the implementation of the principles of sustainable development of education in the cycle they teach.

Also at the meeting, lecturers from Belarus, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden discussed the presentations of Professor Uppsala University Shepard Ureni (Sweden), Professor of the Institute of Sustainable Development Raa Raus (Estonia) and Professor of the University Gävle Rodrigo Lozano (Sweden).

STUDENTS OF YANKA KUPALA STATE UNIVERSITY WILL BECOME VOLUNTEERS OF THE II EUROPEAN GAMES

According to the results of several qualifying stages and seminars, 308 members from Yanka Kupala State University will become participants in the II European Games of 2019, which will be held in Minsk on June 21-30

Work on the selection of those wishing to become a member of the volunteer team has been conducted at Yanka Kupala State University since April 2018. On the basis of Yanka Kupala State University, the Center for training volunteers was created, which included representatives of the university.

As part of the qualifying rounds, students had several interviews. The meeting was held with representatives of the educational center "Educational Technologies" within the II European Games of 2019, where students were able to ask all their questions about the upcoming work. In January, the names of the final composition of the volunteer group became known.

It is worth noting that work with participants of the Center for the training of volunteers is ongoing, students regularly receive information about the preparations for the II European Games in 2019.

Until March, the children will be trained in general groups, after which individual training will take place, which will include practical exercises at sports facilities and work sites.
