Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno presented certificates to delegation from Kazan Innovative University named after V.G.Timiryasov

On April 19, a delegation from Kazan Innovative University named after V.G.Timiryasov arrived at YKSUG to get acquainted with the Faculty of Psychology and participate in scientific seminars.

The delegation included: Albina Kabirova, deputy dean for Research of the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy; Nadezhda Vanyukhina, head of the Department of Developmental Psychology and Psychophysiology of the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy, candidate of Psychological Sciences, as well as students of Kazan Innovation University named after V.G. Timiryasov.

During the meeting, over the course of three days from April 20 to 22, the delegates from the Russian Federation took part in practice-oriented seminars: "Prevention of Self-Harming Behavior in Adolescents" and "Effective Methods and Tools of Coaching". Students and faculty members of Kazan Innovative University named after V.G.Timiryasov participated in a round table dedicated to student science. In addition, the guests attended a theatrical tour "Visiting Pan Khreptovich" as well as a tour "Grodno – the Royal City".

The culmination of the visit was the presentation of certificates to all participants.

Lecturer of YKSUG Ihar Martynenko took part in an International Conference on Artificial Intelligence

On April 16, the Faculty of Law of Lomonosov Moscow State University hosted an international scientific-practical conference on the theme "Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence in Legal Education and Research Activities: Law, Ethics and University Policy". The event brought together scholars from Russia, Belarus, China, and Vietnam.

The main topic of the conference was the challenges of using artificial intelligence in legal education and science. Representatives of science and education from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Grodno, and Shanghai discussed key aspects of integrating artificial intelligence into science and education and listened to reports devoted to the boundaries of technology application.

Ihar Martynenko, Head of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure at the Faculty of Law at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, delivered a plenary report entitled "Scientific-Expert Assessment of the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Preparation of Qualifying Scientific Works in Legal Sciences within the Framework of Attestation of Highly Qualified Scientific Personnel". In his scientific work, he proposed a framework for the admissibility of using artificial intelligence and emphasized that its use must be declared.

Holding a conference on such a currently relevant topic makes it possible to set a direction for the further development of norms for the use of artificial intelligence in science and education.

Belarus through the eyes of a student from China: international students visited Berezovka and Mir

On April 15, international students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno from the People's Republic of China took a tour of the historical and industrial centers of Belarus. The excursion along the route Grodno – Berezovka – Mir – Grodno was part of a program for the adaptation of foreign citizens and their familiarization with the national heritage of our country.

The trip was organized by the Faculty of Psychology, represented by Sviatlana Shushkevich, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Experimental and Applied Psychology.

During the tour, the students visited Neman Glassworks OJSC in Berezovka, where they witnessed the process of crystal glassblowing with their own eyes. In addition, the participants visited the enterprise's museum, where they learned about the history of the plant and became acquainted with the unique techniques of Belarusian craftsmen.

In the second part of the trip, the students visited the Mir Castle Complex, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The students touched the history of the Belarusian Middle Ages: they climbed the defensive towers, walked along the galleries, and viewed the museum exhibitions.

Such events contribute to strengthening international cooperation, help international students better understand the mentality and culture of the host country, and also create a warm atmosphere of student brotherhood.

Representatives of YKSUG took part in forest planting

On April 18, the day of the Republican Subbotnik, students and staff of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno joined the voluntary public initiative "Give the Forest a New Life".

The Kupala University community worked in the area of the Neman Forestry, near the village of Sanniki. As part of the initiative, the area of new forest plantings amounted to about one hectare.

With proper planting and favorable weather conditions, the survival rate of the planting material used exceeds 90%. This means that in 10-15 years, the pines and spruces planted by students and staff of YKSUG will grow into a large young forest.

The participation of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno community in this important initiative became a significant contribution of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno to the greening of the region and a demonstration of the Kupala family's concern for environmental issues.

Jubilee conference of student research works at the Faculty of Economics and Management held at YKSUG

Today, April 17, Faculty of Economics and Management of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno hosted the jubilee XX International Scientific Conference for Students, Master's Students, and Postgraduates "Economics and Management of the 21st Century: From a Linear Model to a Circular One"

The conference brought together students, master's students, postgraduates, and schoolchildren from educational institutions of Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. Active participation was taken by students from partner universities: the National Research Institute of Further Professional Education, Voronezh State University, Esil University, the International Institute of Economics and Linguistics of Irkutsk State University, Tashkent State Transport University, Russian University of Transport, Saint Petersburg State University of Economics, and Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin.

The conference featured six sectional sessions. Young researchers presented work on a wide range of topics, from organizational adaptation to modern challenges and innovations in international business to mathematical modeling and digital technologies for managing economic systems. Particular interest was generated by the session "First Step into Science," where school and college students presented their first scientific papers, and the session "Trends 2026: New Architecture for the Economy, Digitalization and Consumer Choice," which was conducted in English.

The scientific conference was held in the format of an open dialogue, which allowed participants not only to share the results of their research but also to discuss them, receive feedback to improve their future scientific work, and make new acquaintances.

Vice-Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Liavontsi Paulau visited Lanzhou University

On April 15, as part of the visit program of the Belarusian delegation to the People's Republic of China, Liavontsi Paulau, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, visited Lanzhou University.

The purpose of the visit was to hold negotiations with the university's leadership on establishing international cooperation. During the dialogue, the parties reached an agreement and signed a cooperation agreement for participation in the Belarusian-Chinese Regional Forum, which will take place in Lanzhou in June 2026.

After the business part of the meeting, the Chinese representatives gave our Vice-Rector a tour of the university, introduced him to the research programs, and showed him the educational facilities.

International Conference on Current Issues of Financial Law held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

Today, April 16, the International Scientific Conference for Students, Master's Students, and Postgraduates "Current Issues of Financial Law" is taking place at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The conference brings together young legal scholars from Belarus and Russia.

The conference has united students, master's students, and postgraduates from Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Voronezh State University, Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Dostoevsky Omsk State University, Saratov State Law Academy, and South-West State University.

Before the presentations began, Anton Glazev, Head of the Research office at YKSUG, delivered a welcoming speech. He emphasized the significance of the event.

– It is very symbolic that this is already the nineteenth conference. This demonstrates that engaging gifted and talented students in research activities has become a tradition at the Department of International Law, – noted Anton Glazev.

Anton Glazev also stressed that participating in the conference is an excellent opportunity not only to present one's findings but also to receive constructive feedback and adjust the direction of one's research. In conclusion, he wished the attendees productive work, interesting presentations, substantive questions, and lively discussions.

The conference will discuss a wide range of topics, from tax law and financial activities to the digitalization of the tax sector and finance-related crimes.

Professors of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno continue to share experience with students from China within the framework of a Joint Educational Program

Professors of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology continue to implement the experimental joint educational program "4+0" in the specialty "Biology". Currently, classes for students of Qilu Normal University are being conducted by Aleksandra Ryzhaya and Alexei Savko.

Aleksandra Ryzhaya, Associate Professor of the Department of System Biology, is conducting classes for Chinese students in the discipline "Methods of Zoological Research". Alexei Savko, lecturer at the Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology, is delivering lectures and laboratory classes in Organic Chemistry.

This experimental educational program contributes to the active development of cooperation between the universities and the exchange of experience.

Vice-Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Liavontsi Paulau participates in Belarusian Delegation's visit to China

From April 13 to 16, the Belarusian delegation is on a business visit to the People's Republic of China. The delegation includes Liavontsi Paulau, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

As part of the visit, a working meeting has already taken place between Andrey Boltrik, Deputy Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, and Wang Bin, Deputy Governor of Gansu Province, as well as a visit to the Lanzhou Institute of Business and Technology.

Today, April 15, a roundtable was held with the participation of business circles from Gansu Province, during which information about the investment potential of the Republic of Belarus was presented. Following the welcoming speeches, representatives of Belarus delivered presentations on the investment opportunities of the Grodno Region, aimed at attracting investment. Among the speakers was Liavontsi Paulau. In the second part of the meeting, the parties held B2B negotiations, in which the Vice-Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno also took part.

Holding such negotiations is an important step in strengthening ties not only between the Grodno Region and Gansu Province in general, but also between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and its educational partners in particular.

Student of the School of Exact Sciences of YKSUG became silver medalist at International Mathematics Olympiad

From April 9 to 15, the 15th European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) took place in Bordeaux, France. The competition brought together 161 young women from 67 countries, including four representatives of Belarus.

Over the course of two competition days, participants were required to solve six mathematical problems (three each day).

As a result of their participation, all members of the team of the Republic of Belarus were awarded medals. The silver medalist of the Olympiad was Yauhenia Maslenikava, a student of the "Olympiad Mathematics" course at the School of Exact Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Kupala University. Yauhenia is an 11th-grade student at Gymnasium No. 3 named after O.I. Solomova in Grodno.

For reference: The European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad has been held since 2012 with the aim of supporting talented female mathematicians, encouraging their participation in national and international competitions, and motivating them to pursue scientific research. Its format is similar to the International Mathematical Olympiad, which took place in Cambridge.

The team of the Republic of Belarus has been an annual participant in the Olympiad since 2013. In 2015, the 4th European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad was held in Belarus.
