Yanka Kupala State University’s Volunteer Center took part in the X Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus

On June 27, within the framework of the X Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus, a section "Volunteer movement as a factor in strengthening Russian-Belarusian cooperation. New opportunities for social initiatives" with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.

The meeting was attended by 8 volunteer centers of higher educational institutions of the country − Belarusian State University, Maksim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University, Belarusian National Technical University, Brest State A.S. Pushkin University, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno , Francisk Skorina Gomel State University Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University, Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov.

During the session of the section, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Irina Kostevich made a keynote speech on the topic "Silver Volunteering" – a social initiative within the framework of the National Strategy of Active Longevity." Larisa Olenskaya, Chairman of the Council of Senior Citizens at the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, participant of the republican meeting of the Council of Senior Citizens, acted as a co-speaker on the topic of "silver" volunteering.

Representatives of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Volunteer Center took part in the conference in an online format.

It is worth noting that the volunteer movement is an important factor in strengthening Russian-Belarusian cooperation. Volunteers from Russia and Belarus work together on various projects aimed at supporting social and cultural initiatives, environmental programs, and helping those in need. The volunteer movement promotes the strengthening of friendly relations between Russia and Belarus, helps to establish contacts between people from different countries and cultures.

New Horizons: Yanka Kupala State State University was visited by a delegation of Gansu Province on a working visit

Today, Yanka Kupala Grodno State University hosted a meeting with a delegation from Gansu Province from the People's Republic of China.

It is worth noting that 16 years ago the Grodno Region and Gansu Province of the People's Republic of China established twinning relations. The new program provides for deepening mutual ties and working out areas where bilateral relations will be established and trade turnover between the regions will increase.

The delegation included representatives of the Agricultural Vocational Institute of Gansu Province, the Wuwei Vocational Institute of Gansu Province, the Construction Vocational Institute of Gansu Province, the Industrial Vocational Institute of Gansu Province, the Tianshui Pedagogical Institute of Gansu Province.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between educational institutions of Gansu Province and Kupala University were discussed, where the parties determined the vector of further development of interuniversity cooperation.

First Vice-Rector Alexander Karevsky noted that cooperation in the field of science and education between the two countries has great potential and can bring a lot of benefits for both sides. Special attention was paid to the issues of joint training of masters in various fields. Also, the participants of the meeting were presented the scientific and educational experience and potential of Kupala University, the possibilities of studying undergraduate and graduate educational programs, postgraduate studies, as well as opportunities to participate in scientific and educational events were presented.

Representatives of the People's Republic of China expressed their interest in cooperation with the Yanka Kupala State University in the field of scientific research. In turn, representatives of the university expressed their willingness to cooperate and stressed that Grodno State University is always open to new partners and projects.

Close cooperation with foreign colleagues began in 2020 with the signing of an international cooperation agreement. This is the case when words immediately turn to actions – in less than three years, the parties managed to exchange visits and employees, participate in various kinds of events, as well as implement joint educational programs. Today, the cooperation of educational institutions has reached a new level.

The delegation of the Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimi, headed by Rector Dilnoza Khodjaeva, began its visit with the signing of agreements on the implementation of new joint educational programs. The signing of the document was preceded by a business conversation, which took place in a friendly atmosphere. The parties familiarized each other with the educational potential of their educational institutions, discussed mutual interests and found new points of contact.

A really rich program awaits our foreign colleagues ahead. The delegation will get acquainted with the material and technical base of the Scientific and Technological Park of the Yanka Kupala State University, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, the Faculty of Psychology, the Faculty of Arts and Design, the Faculty of Physical Culture, the Faculty of Pedagogy.

The delegation of Kupala University pays a working visit to the People's Republic of China

The delegation includes Rector of the Yanka Kupala State University Iryna Kiturka, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Liavontsi Paulau and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Translation and Intercultural Communication Wang Tao. The program of the visit is rich, many strategic meetings are planned, which will further strengthen the ties between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and higher educational institutions of China.

The visit began at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the People's Republic of China, where a discussion of promising areas of cooperation took place, and a meeting was organized with representatives of the Charitable Foundation for the Support of  Education and Development of Talented Students. The Belarusian-Chinese conference on education was held with the support of the foundation. The event was attended by a delegation of Yanka Kupala State University of  Grodno headed by Rector Iryna Kiturka and representatives of educational institutions of the People's Republic of China. During the event, the parties discussed the further development of interuniversity cooperation, signed a number of agreements on cooperation in the educational field and witnessed the opening of a branch of the Association of Chinese Graduates of  Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in Beijing.

By the way, the Beijing Charitable Foundation for the support of education and development of talented students has been a partner of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in the People's Republic of China in the academic, scientific and cultural spheres since the beginning of 2020. The cooperation provides for the exchange of experience in the organization of the educational process, the organization and conduct of joint scientific research, the exchange of scientists and teachers, advertising and information and consulting activities on the territory of the People's Republic of China in order to popularize educational and other services provided by Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

The visit will last today, June 14, and a number of meetings are scheduled for June 15. According to the Education Internationalization Centre of  Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, currently Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno implements an active international policy within the framework of 200 agreements with foreign institutions and organizations from 30 countries, including 9 organizations of the People's Republic of China, cooperation with which was established back in 2001, when the first cooperation agreement was signed with the Chinese South Central University of Economics and Law. To this end, the university implements a Strategy for the development of cooperation with China in the field of education, which is an integral part of the overall strategy of the university – the strategy of advanced development.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took part in the visit of the Grodno delegation to the Kaliningrad region

The delegation of the Grodno region headed by the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Elena Pasyuta is on a business visit to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation from June 11 to 15. Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is represented by Olga Yanchurevich, Head of the Department of Zoology and Physiology of Humans and Animals, and Vadim Gunko, Secretary of the primary organization of the NGO "BRSM" of Kupala University.

The meeting of representatives of the regions is taking place within the framework of the project "Russia – Belarus: strong partnership" and involves a number of activities aimed at strengthening cross-border cooperation, reports " Grodno Truth". In particular, a meeting with the leadership of the Legislative Assembly of the Kaliningrad region, a visit to municipal organizations and institutions, social and socio-cultural facilities, a final conference and a plenary session are planned.

The delegations exchange experience in such areas as the activities of government and local self-government, the functioning of non-profit organizations, youth policy. Cooperation agreements are expected to be signed between the Zelenograd Municipal District and the Zelvensky District Executive Committee, as well as between the Svetlogorsk City District and the Novogrudok District Executive Committee.

On the first day of their stay, representatives of the Grodno region got acquainted with the tourist potential of Zelenogradsk. A sightseeing tour of the city was organized, which allowed us to work out promising points of interaction between the regions in matters of landscaping, tourism and culture development.

Our delegation also took part in a solemn rally, laying wreaths and flowers at the memorial on the mass grave of Soviet soldiers. The memory of the fallen soldiers was honored with a minute of silence. The common historical heritage is among the main bonds of the peoples of Belarus and Russia.

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno signed an agreement on the implementation of a joint educational program with the Institute of Social and Political Sciences (Uzbekistan)

The agreement was signed during the visit of a delegation of foreign colleagues to Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno State University. The delegation of the Institute of Social and Political Sciences includes Rector Mahmudov Umid Behzodovich, advisor to the rector Alimardonov Tulkin Turdievich, Head of the educational and Methodological Department Kurbanov Sukhrob Abdulloevich.

The Institute of Social and Political Sciences is a very young educational institution. But, despite his "youth", he actively occupies a position in the educational market.

The result of the interaction was the signing of an agreement on the implementation of a joint educational program in a network form between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and the Institute of Social and Political Sciences. Also during the meeting, the deans presented educational opportunities of the Faculty of Law, Faculty of History of Communication and Tourism, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Economics and Management, Pedagogical. Also, the head of the Research Institute Anton Glazev presented the scientific potential of Kupala University.

In turn, foreign colleagues told about the whole institute, about its scientific and educational opportunities.

The agreement was concluded in order to organize educational activities taking into account the needs of the labor market, expand students' access to modern educational resources, technologies and learning tools, provide students with the opportunity to form individual educational trajectories, in-depth development of competence-oriented modules, academic disciplines.

During the visit, a delegation of foreign colleagues will visit the Science and Technology Park, the Faculty of Psychology, the Faculty of Economics and Management, the Faculty of Philology.

By the way, this visit of foreign colleagues is not the first interaction of the parties. So, on March 29, 2023, Alena Belokoz, head of the Center for Internationalization of Education, visited the Institute of Social and Political Sciences during her visit to Uzbekistan. It was during this visit that agreements were reached on the conclusion of an agreement on international cooperation and on the possibility of implementing joint educational programs.

On April 28, 2023, an online meeting of the leadership of Yanka Kupala Grodno State University and the Institute of Social and Political Sciences took place, within the framework of which a cooperation agreement was signed.

Yanka Kupala Grodno State University signed a cooperation agreement with Tomsk State University

The signing took place during the visit of the Grodno region delegation to Russia. The official delegation of the Grodno region consisting of the Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Karanik, Assistant to the President of the Republic of  Belarus – Inspector for the Grodno region Yury Karaev, Chairman of the Grodno Regional Council of Deputies Elena Pasyuta, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vitaly Nevera, representatives of enterprises and higher educational institutions of the Prineman  Region  from May 30 to 31 visits the Tomsk  region of the Russian Federation.

Interregional cooperation between the Grodno and Tomsk regions has been going on for decades and is carried out within the framework of the Agreement on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the Grodno Regional Executive Committee and the Tomsk Region. The first Vice-rector Aleksandr Karevskiy represents Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in the work of the delegation. A solemn signing of documents is planned, including an agreement on cooperation between the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Tomsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Participation in this visit  will  allow  Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno to establish closer cooperation with universities and organizations of Tomsk in the field of education, science and culture; will contribute to the implementation of joint research projects in various areas, will allow organizing participation in scientific and educational events, including in specialized schools planned to be held at partner universities; will provide an opportunity to establish exchange of employees for internships and lectures, including within the framework of the "Visiting Professor" program.

Students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took part in the II International Youth Environmental Forum.

Senior Lecturer of the Department of Ecology Elena Samusik and 2nd and 3rd year students of the Faculty of Biology and Ecology Ksenia Zhdanova and Polina Sobolevskaya took part in the II International Youth Environmental Forum on May 15-19. The forum brought together participants from 14 universities in Russia and Belarus.

The purpose of this forum was to further develop and integrate educational and cultural cooperation between universities of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, strengthen fraternal ties between Belarus and Russia, education, historical, patriotic and environmental education of students within the framework of the "Year of Peace and Creation" declared by the President of the Republic of Belarus in 2023 and the "Decade of Science and technologies", stimulating the continuity of professional experience and knowledge by young people, methods for solving urgent problems in the field of environmental protection, rational use of natural resources.

Forestry Minister Alexander Kulik took part in the opening ceremony of the II International Youth Environmental Forum. The main part of the events of this forum was held on the basis of the branch of BSTU "Negorelsky educational and experimental forestry".

The students took an active part in the round table on promising areas of educational, scientific and technical cooperation between the youth of Belarus and Russia, and also presented their startups in the field of ecology and environmental protection. We got acquainted with modern methods of landscape design as a means of optimizing the unfavorable ecological environment of a large city, listened to a number of lectures and practical classes on the topics: "Eco-oriented activity of forestry enterprises of Belarus" (with visits to objects: a forest equipment park, a woodworking shop, a mini CHPP on wood chips); "Ecological and environmental educational activities of universities" (on the basis of the "House of Nature" Negorelsky educational and experimental forestry of BSTU); "Creation of objects of ecological tourism on the example of the project "Ecological educational trail "Tales of the Negorelsky forest". A master class was held on the topic "Modern IT technologies and remote sensing methods using unmanned aerial vehicles, space satellites to assess the state of forests and natural objects".

A student of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno became a prize–winner of the International competition "VAT Expert - 2023"

A team of 3rd year students of the Faculty of Economics and Management Nadezhda Vydra, Ekaterina Ezepchik, Angelina Karachenko, Daria Oleshkevich and Yana Tolochko, under the guidance of senior lecturer of the Department of Finance and Accounting Natalia Potocka, took part remotely in the International competition "VAT Expert – 2023".

According to the results of the International competition "VAT Expert – 2023" in the nomination "Fundamentals of VAT", the 3rd place was won by a 3rd-year student of the specialty "Finance and Credit" of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno  Nadezhda Vydra.

The organizer of the competition was the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. 17 higher educational institutions from 4 countries – Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan - took part in the International Competition. A total of 137 students took part in the competition, including 50 people participated in the face–to-face round and 87 - remotely.

The team of participants of the competition was awarded with certificates, and the team leader and the head of the Department of Finance and Accounting were awarded with letters of thanks.

A visiting professor from India gave lectures at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

As part of the "Visiting Professor" program, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science was visited by the Director of the Institute of Engineering and Management of Sandip University, Director of International Relations of Sandip University (Republic of India), Professor Deepak Pandurang Patil.

The professor gave lectures in English for students of the specialty "Information Technology Software". The prospects for the development of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, big data analysis and processing technologies were presented to the students. During the visit, Professor Deepak Patil met with Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Liavontsi Paulau, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science Elena Livak, Head of the Department of International Cooperation Olga Minova, Head of the Education Internationalization Centre  Elena Belokoz, Head of the Department of Modern Programming Technologies Anna Karkanitsa and the staff of the Department, Head of the research department Anton Glazev and Head of the Technology Transfer Center – Elena Opekun

Preliminary agreements have been reached on the organization of a summer IT school for students from India at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, prospects for designing a joint educational program and scientific cooperation have been outlined. The guest also met with foreign students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, representatives of the fraternity of foreign students, visited the science and Technology Park, participated in a student battle in mathematics and programming, organized for 1st year students of the specialty "Information Technology Software".

For the foreign guest, an excursion to the Museum of the History of the Development of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, an excursion to the historical sights of the city of Grodno, a visit to the agrotouristic complex "Garadzenski Maentak" were organized. Professor Deepak Patil admired the concept of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno as a museum university, and left a memorable entry in the guest book of the university.
