More than 40 participants took part in XVI International oratory contest “Ciceronium-2016”, dedicated to the Year of Culture. The event was held at the Academy of the Internal Affairs Ministry of the Republic of Belarus on May, 19-20, 2016. Students from 14 universities and 6 countries competed in oratory skills.
Grodno region was represented by the winners of the regional round of XVI International oratory contest “Ciceronium-2016”, YKSUG students Anastasiya Saleyko, Maksim Purovskiy, Farkhad Sheraliev and Grodno State Medical University student Vladislav Shishko (Therapeutic Faculty).
The eloquence contest was divided into two rounds. According to the results of XVI International oratory contest “Ciceronium-2016”, Anastasiya Saleyko (Faculty of History, Communications and Tourism, 4th year) has been awarded a third degree diploma for her speech “My way to the better world”.
Maksim Purovskiy (Faculty of Innovative Mechanic Engineering, 2nd year) with his speech “Ecology of the Planet Earth: Reboot” and Farkhad Sheraliev (Philological Faculty, 2nd year) with his speech “Character is Destiny” became laureates of the contest.
The Grodno team was trained by a group of YKSUG lecturers: Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Murashov, Professor of the Department of Journalism; Tamara Anatolyevna Pivovarchik, Head of the Department of Journalism; Svetlana Albertovna Gorskaya, Associate Professor of the Department of the Russian Language; Zoya Zigmundovna Sidorovich, Associate Professor of the Department of the Russian Language, who acted also as a final round jury member; Galina Cheslavovna Mazko, Senior Lecturer of the Department of General and Slavic Linguistics; and employees of YKSUG Youth Educational Work Office.
