YKSUG international students were awarded at VI Countrywide Festival of International Students “Days of the Russian Language and Belarusian Culture”

YKSUG international students were awarded at VI Countrywide Festival of International Students “Days of the Russian Language and Belarusian Culture”

 

   VI Countrywide Festival of International Students “Days of the Russian Language and Belarusian culture” gathered over 600 international students from 30 universities in Belarusian State University on May 18th-21st. YKSUG team, too, took part in the event. The team consisted of international students, lecturers and Education Internationalization Centre employees.
   Representatives from Ministry of Education of Republic of Belarus, heads of International Association of the Russian Language and Literature Teachers in Russia and Belarus, officials from Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, Libyan, Iraqi, German, Ecuadorean, Kazakhstan and Russian legations, and representatives from Rossotrudnichestvo Agency in Belarus took part in the festival opening ceremony.
   The forum started with international students’ artworks exposition. YKSUG students presented their works, Turkmen traditional clothes and decorations. Appuhami Hettiaratchige Don Omihla Naushan (Faculty of Art and Design, 4th year) was awarded with a diploma for his cycle of paintings “Variations on a Theme of Music”. YKSUG itself, too, was awarded as a participant of the exposition.
   The event continued with the finale of the Countrywide Russian Language Olympiad for International Students, were our students received several awards. Among them are Enejan Seidova (Philology faculty, 4th year) – 3rd degree diploma, Jennet Mamedova (Philological Faculty, 3rd year) – diploma “For Preciseness in Thought Expression”, Nakhle Sharbel (Preparatory department for foreign citizens) – diploma “For Preciseness in Continuing a Topic”.
   Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and Linguistic Disciplines (Preparatory department for foreign students) was awarded a diploma at the best student movie contest “Belarus is the country where I study”.
   An international scientific and practical conference “Theory and Practice of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language: Results, Problems and Development Perspectives” was held within the framework of the festival. Here, Geldi Bayrammyradov (Philological Faculty, 5th year) presented a paper which was highly appreciated by the expert jury of the conference. Besides, lecturers of Philology Faculty and employees of the Education Internationalization Centre from YKSUG took part in a scientific and methodical workshop, where they discussed problems of organization and improvement of teaching international students in Belarusian universities.
   The last, but not the least, event within the framework of the festival was a concert of international students, where Wei Wang Chen (Faculty of History, Communications and Tourism, 1st year) performed the Belarusian folk song “Kupalinka”.
   According to the results of participation in VI Countrywide Festival of International Students “Days of the Russian Language and Belarusian Culture”, the team of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was awarded a diploma.
