Expanding the boundaries of cooperation: Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Iryna Kiturka signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Lanzhou Modern Vocational College

On June 30, within the framework of the opening of the First Belarusian-Chinese Forum, the delegation of the Grodno Region met with representatives of Gansu Province. The delegation included representatives of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno – Rector Iryna Kiturka, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Liavontsi Paulau, and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Translation and Intercultural Communication Wang Tao.

 

The work of the Grodno Region delegation on the sidelines of the forum began with negotiations with the Chinese side. The Belarusian representatives met with Ren Zhenhe, Chairman of the People's Government of Gansu Province, and Liu Jianxun, Mayor of Lanzhou. During the meetings, the parties discussed the main areas of partnership. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening ties in education, scientific research and youth policy.

 

The main event of the day for the representatives of YKSUG was the signing of a Memorandum of Intent aimed at deepening academic cooperation between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Lanzhou Modern Vocational College. The parties agreed on specific directions for developing relations. These include using the academic potential and infrastructure of YKSUG to modernize educational standards, jointly seeking ways to implement competitive and cultural-creative initiatives, as well as establishing bilateral mobility of students and teachers to develop projects in the field of public catering.

 

The signing of the Memorandum opens new vectors of cooperation between Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno and Lanzhou Modern Vocational College, and also facilitates mutual exchange of experience.
