The Summer School of the Belarusian Language and Culture has finished its work at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

The fifth anniversary school “under the bright name of Kupala” was held at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno from August 4 to August 15. 20 foreign guests from Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenista attended the school with great interest.

Today, on August 15, during the closing ceremony of Summer School, participants received well-deserved certificates for successful completion of their studies. Certificates were also awarded to those who successfully passed the exam on the level of proficiency in the Belarusian language.

During the training, the participants got acquainted with the Belarusian language and the history of our country, visited interesting cultural places, and also learned how to cook national cuisine and perform folk dances.

«During the summer school, the participants united into one friendly family. It's always warm and cozy here. I will definitely come here again next year», - Evgenia Elizarova, a participant of the Summer School of Belarusian Language and Culture, shared her impressions.

Today, on August 14, students of the Summer School of the Belarusian Language and Culture had the opportunity to get acquainted with plants growing in Belarus. The museum "Aromas of magical herbs and plants" gave them this opportunity.

This incredibly fragrant museum is located in the Grodno State Regional Ecological and Biological Center for Children and Youth. During the tour, the Summer School students were shown the diversity of the Belarusian flora, told where and how to collect herbs, which plants can benefit and which ones can harm. The participants were able not only to see the exhibits, but also to smell them and even taste them.

The event ended with a master class on creating a florarium and a tea party, during which the Summer School students independently chose which herbs the tea would consist of.

Today, on August 13, the participants of the Summer School "under the bright name of Kupala" went on a trip to the Grodno region to dive deep into the Belarusian culture. They visited the Catholic church in the agro-town of Trockeli in the Voronovsky district, the Volny Melnik tourist complex and the village library with its unique "contact“ ethnographic museum room in the House of Culture in the agro-town of Dvorishche in the Lida district, as well as the St. Cazimir Catholic Church in the agro-town of Vselyub.

The first stop was the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the agro-town of Trockeli, which is a monument of architecture and wooden architecture of the early 19th century. During the tour, the participants of the Summer School learned about the history of the church, as well as about its main value – the icon of the Mother of God of Trockeli.

After that, the travelers went to the Volny Melnik tourist complex, located on the site of an ancient farmstead, on the territory of which an ancient stone watermill has been preserved. Walking through the picturesque territory of the complex, listening to the life of that time and looking at the exhibits, the tourists were able to immerse themselves in the times of medieval Belarus.

The next stop was the agricultural town of Vselyub in Novogrudok, where the St. Cazimir Catholic Church is located, the oldest Belarusian Catholic church combining Belarusian and Western European architectural traditions. There, the participants of the Summer School of the Belarusian Language and Culture took part in a bread baking master class with great pleasure. All the secrets of the process were revealed to the guests: How to knead the dough correctly, what ingredients to use, and how long it takes to achieve the perfect result. The master class was an excellent opportunity not only to master the craft, but also to deepen knowledge about Belarusian traditions.

Such events, of course, not only broaden the horizons of foreign guests, but also arouse a keen interest in the Belarusian language, history and culture.

Chineese master's degree students of the Pedagogical Faculty visited creative educational venues in Grodno

On August 7, master's degree students visited the interactive center "Sovushka", which operates on the basis of the children's branch of the Grodno Regional Scientific Library named after E. Karsky.

This institution is a creative educational platform, the purpose of which is to use modern achievements in the field of information technology.

Students were told about the work of the center and introduced to the branch's book collection.

At Sovushka, people can study in several unique programs, including art, music, engineering and robotics, and foreign languages. The creative laboratory "Lego" works here.

As a sign of gratitude for the guided tour, students presented the interactive center with a memorable gift reflecting the culture of their Homeland.

Today, on August 4, Xiao Kaixian, Director of Asia-European Future LLC, met with representatives of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

The event was attended by Liavontsi Paulau, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Olga Minova, Head of the Department of International Cooperation, Irina Glavnitskaya, Head of the Department of Recruitment and Registration of Foreign Citizens and Alexandra Zhuk, acting Head of the Department of International Projects and Academic Mobility.

The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation, including: bachelor's and master's degree and postgraduate studies; 3+2 joint educational program; pilot project "Implementation of a model for integrating the educational program of the first stage of higher education (Republic of Belarus) with the educational program of non-university higher education (PRC) in a shortened period", scientific cooperation and others.

The discussion of these issues became an important step towards creating a solid foundation for long-term cooperation between Asia-European Future LLC and Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

A master class on cooking Belarusian cuisine was held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno as part of the Summer School of the Russian Language.
