Teachers and students celebrated the 81st anniversary of the foundation of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno on February, 22
Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, as well as the guests of honor, took part in the festive event. In her welcoming speech, Rector Irina Kiturko noted:
– Despite the fact that the previous year was for all of us not only a year of great opportunities, but also great challenges, the staff of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno can be proud of certain successes that we managed to achieve. We have opened 4 new specialties, organized a digital admissions office at the university during the entrance campaign for the first time. We adopted the Corporate Code and at the end of the year approved the Strategy of Advanced Development of the university. The name of our new Strategy sounds ambitious, but I am sure that we will be able to achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves.
In his congratulatory speech, Viktor Pranyuk, Deputy Chairman of Grodno Regional Executive Committee, also drew attention to the purposefulness of teachers and students, which helps to get high results. He noted the achievements of students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in sports, and also recalled that last year the newspaper of the University won the "Golden Letter" at the main competition of print media in Belarus.
– I am sure that Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno has a great future, because you always strive not just to keep up with the times, but to be one step ahead. For example, you always think about what specialists will be in demand in the labor market tomorrow, and open these specialties at your university today. This is very important.
Representatives of Grodno State Medical University also came to congratulate Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno on its next birthday. The First Vice-Rector of GrSMU Vitaly Vorobyov noted the long-term fruitful cooperation between two regional universities.
- Representatives of our universities successfully cooperate both in the field of education and in the development of modern digital technologies.
In his congratulatory speech, the First Vice-Rector of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Oleg Romanov noted:
– One of the main trends in modern society is to increase the value of a person. Each of us will be inspired to work, create and strive for results, if he feels care for himself, will feel a high appreciation of his work. We strive to support the preservation and development of humanity at our university.
- The number 81 is the beginning of a new decade. All the activities of our university are directed to the future, to new achievements, to new heights. And I wish everyone an irresistible desire for new successes, which will move each of us forward, " Yury Bialykh addressed the participants of the festive meeting.
During the festive event, the staff, students and teachers of the university were awarded for high personal achievements. The creative students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno prepared their musical gift. They decorated the festive event dedicated to the 81st birthday of their native Alma mater with pop vocal performances.

Over the past decades of successful development, our university has formed its own traditions, has gained experience in training in-demand specialists, has become famous for scientific and sports achievements and earned respect from graduates and partners.

I am sure that unity, creative energy, creative search, high professionalism, the ability to think and act in accordance with the challenges of today will allow us to achieve significant results in the implementation of ambitious plans and bold ideas. Let the next year in the history of our Alma mater further unite students and employees in the pursuit of new heights, will be the start of the successful implementation of all the goals for the prosperity of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno!

The exhibition of creative works of students opened at Yanka Kupala State University on the occasion of the university's birthday
The exhibition presents course and diploma works of students of the Department of Fine Arts, made in the technique of easel painting.
The exposition of the gallery "UNIVERSUM" is updated annually on the occasion of the birthday of Kupala University. This year's exhibition, called "My Native Land", combines works made in the genres of landscape and still life, which reflect the identity of the material culture of Belarus.
Rector Iryna Kiturka took part in the opening of the exhibition. She congratulated the staff, teachers and students of Yanka Kupala State University on the holiday and noted that the enthusiasm and fascination that reign today in the walls of her native Alma mater is a wonderful "Kupala emotion" that you want to share with each other.
– The high level of students' creative works, which are presented in the new exhibition of the gallery "UNIVERSUM", is impressive, - said Iryna Kiturka. – First of all, I want to thank the teachers, because the fact that their students have reached such a level of skill, of course, is their great merit. And, of course, looking at these works, it is impossible not to feel the worldview and spiritual mood of each of the young authors. I am very pleased that the Faculty of Art and Design of Kupala University produces such strong artists.
Iryna Kiturka wished the students inspiration, new professional achievements, as well as numerous solo exhibitions in the near future. In addition, the rector expressed the hope that young authors will not forget the way to their native university after graduation.
Nadezhda Romanchuk, a master's student of the Faculty of Art and Design, also congratulated her Alma mater on her birthday, and her work was also included in the exhibition "My Native Land". On behalf of all the authors, she thanked the teachers for their talent, knowledge and skills, which they generously share with their students, and expressed confidence that next year the updated exhibition of the gallery will feature no less interesting, and perhaps even stronger works by young artists who are studying at Kupala University.
The opening of the exhibition in the UNIVERSUM gallery was the first of a series of festive events dedicated to the 81st Birthday of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. Throughout the holiday week, many interesting events are planned at Kupala University.

National policies in RP&NSC education are aligned with labor market demands and nuclear safety requirements as well as international standards and fully supported by stakeholders and national authorities.6 BY HEIs enhanced their capacity and expertise thus becoming capable to develop & deliver & promote educational programs in RP&NSC based on EU best practices and meet international standards. New curricula in RP&NSC containing modules, courses and learning materials approved by HEIs administration and supported for use in further Belarusian HEIs by Ministry of Education of Belarus.
New educational programs in the field of RP&NSC implemented at 6 BY HEIs with support of innovative teaching& learning infrastructure involving EU expertise and taking advantage from study tours to nuclear industry sector and ad hoc learning events for students.

Sports victories of Kupala residents: the teams of Yanka Kupala State University in various sports became the winners of the championships of the Republic of Belarus
Last weekend, the results of the winter sports matches in mini-football and volleyball were summed up.
Within the framework of the youth championship of the Republic of Belarus in mini-football, sports matches among men's teams were held. The team of Kupala University played with the Grodno team "DIA-Dynamo-Yuni" and won with a score of 4: 1, and the 1st year student of the Faculty of Physical Culture Ilya Saley became the best player of the match.
In the game of the championship of the Republic of Belarus in volleyball among men's teams, the team of our university "Kommunalnik-GRSU" also won, playing in a match with the team "Atlant" from the city of Postavy.
The victory of Kupala University was also brought by the women's mini-football team "Region-GRSU". In the championship of the Republic of Belarus on mini-football match took place with the team from Minsk "Pedagogical University", where Kupala residents won with the score 9:0. Carolina Romanchuk,a 4th year student of the Faculty of Physical Culture, was recognized the best player of the match in the team of Yanka Kupala State University.
The university employee was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor
The meeting of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus was held on January 27.
The academic title of Associate Professor was awarded to the Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages Irina Tsiunchik of the Faculty of Philology of Yanka Kupala State University.
A representative of Yanka Kupala State University took part in a working meeting of the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus
The working meeting was held on January 22 at the Belarusian National Technical University.
Kupala University was represented by Boris Bolokhonov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Civil Law and Procedure of the Faculty of Law, member of the Council of Young Scientists of the University. Within the framework of the working meeting, the members of the Council considered issues of cooperation of higher education institutions based on joint research and development, summed up the results of the competition for the Council's logo projects, heard a report on the work of the Council of Young Scientists for 2020, and also got acquainted with the educational, scientific and innovative complex of BNTU on the basis of the experienced plant “Politechnic”
The meeting was followed by a meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Irina Starovoitova, where the participants discussed the changes proposed in the draft Code of the Republic of Belarus on Education, new rules for admission to educational institutions and ways to attract young people to university science and current issues of social policy to support young scientists.
Book exhibitions for the Year of National Unity opened at Yanka Kupala State University
The exhibitions feature popular science publications, encyclopedias, reference books on socio-political and socio-economic development, history and modernity of the Republic of Belarus.
The staff of the Scientific Library of Yanka Kupala State University organized book exhibitions dedicated to the Year of National Unity. So, in the reading room of the subscription of fiction and scientific literature at Ozheshko, 22, you can see the exhibition "There is strength in unity", the exhibition "Treasure of the people of Belarus in the Union" in the library of the Faculty of Philology, Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism, and the lending of textbooks library of Physico-Technical Faculty, Engineering Faculty, Faculty of Innovative Mechanic Engineering at Vrublevskogo, 33, aud. 212 there is the exhibition "There is power of the country in the unity of the people!". The expositions contain both the most interesting popular science publications about the history and modernity of our republic, and collections of fiction of Belarusian classics.
Other events dedicated to the Year of National Unity are also planned at Kupala University. Among them are the children's drawing contest "The World of Friendship, Unity", the video presentation "The Reflection of National Unity in the work of Belarusian writers", the exhibition of creative works by employees of Yanka Kupala State University "Treasures of soul: unity of traditions through art", as well as a number of other thematic expositions.
Scientists of Yanka Kupala State University presented their developments at the exhibition dedicated to the Belarusian Science Day in Minsk
To explore the development of Kupala University on January 29 scientists presented the most significant results of scientific-technical and innovative activity in the country within the framework of the exhibition in the NAS of Belarus.
Two developments of representatives of Yanka Kupala Grodno State University were presented at the exhibition dedicated to the Belarusian Science Day. One of them is included in the top 10 results of scientists ' activities for 2020 in the field of basic and applied research. This is the development of a team of authors from Kupala University and the Institute of Biochemistry of Biologically Active Compounds of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The development relates to the field of medicine and can be used for the treatment and prevention of toxic liver damage. Scientists have proposed a drug composition containing melatonin, which has the properties of an effective direct and indirect antioxidant, a bioenergetic substrate succinate and an extract of cranberry fruit flavonoids. Among the scientists-developers is the Professor of the Department of Biochemistry of Yanka Kupala State University, Doctor of Biological Sciences Ilya Zavodnik.
As a significant result of the scientific-technical and innovation activities at the exhibition in Minsk was submitted to another development of Kupala University, authored by the leading researcher, associate Professor, candidate of Physico-Mathematical Sciences Vitaly Stepuro, the Associate Professor of the Department of General physics, the Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences Andrew Lavysh, the Associate Professor of the Department of General Physics, doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences Svetlana Gogoleva, head of the Department of General physics, associate Professor, the Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences Alexander Maskevich. At the exhibition at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the scientists of Yanka Kupala State University demonstrated how micro-viscosity and temperature sensors based on fluorescent molecular rotors work for the needs of fluorescence microscopy in the application to biomedicine. The development relates to the field of spectroscopy and fluorescence microscopy and can be used to determine the temperature and viscosity in locally small volumes of matter based on the analysis of the optical signal from the molecular rotor.
