Yanka Kupala State University students have completed their studies in Hungary

The students of the Faculty of Economics and Management returned to their alma mater after studying during the academic year under the academic mobility program in Hungary.

According to the results of the competitive selection, 3rd-year students of the specialty "World Economy" Polina Filipchuk and Kristina Lapitskaya were sent to study in the 2022/2023 academic year in the city of Gyor, St. Stephen's University under the program "Stipendium Hungaricum".

The girls were enrolled as students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in the specialty "International Relations". Their chosen program of study in International Relations (Bachelor's degree) is an interdisciplinary and flexible program of study in English, which combines a wide range of courses in international relations, history, politics and world economy. In addition, this program helps students analyze complex issues and present arguments in a clear and concise form, which helped students to expand their communication skills.

During their studies, Polina and Kristina studied "World Economy", "International Economic Law", "Negotiation", "Intercultural Communication", "Academic Writing", "Methods of Social Research" and a number of other disciplines.

In accordance with the conditions of the Stipendium Hungaricum program, the students attended the course "Hungarian language and Culture", which allowed them to find understanding when communicating with local residents and deepen their knowledge about the history, traditional dishes and holidays of Hungary. Thus, the university organized mentoring groups for incoming students, which included students from various countries and one Hungarian representative. With the help of a native-speaking student, adaptation to new living conditions and learning a foreign language took place in an easier and more comfortable atmosphere. Within the framework of the subject "Hungarian language and culture", various interactive events, movie evenings, as well as excursions were held. Thanks to this, the girls passed the oral and written exams in the Hungarian language with "excellent".

Students of the Faculty of Economics and Management during their studies at St. Stephen's University took an active part in various scientific and educational events, open lectures and seminars. According to Polina Filipchuk, she was impressed by the meetings with representatives of the diplomatic corps and visiting professors, where students learned about the directions and trends in the development of international relations and their impact on the economy.

During the educational process, our students managed to attend events dedicated to Hungarian culture and traditions. They attended an evening of traditional Hungarian

cuisine, where they acquired skills in making one of the most famous Hungarian dishes "Gulyás". An excursion program around the city of Gyor was organized for all students enrolled in the academic mobility program. The evening of visiting the Hungarian State Opera House left vivid impressions.

– This year will undoubtedly be imprinted in our memory. We have gained valuable experience, gained new knowledge necessary for professional growth. The training was filled with adventures and travels, knowledge of a new culture and the acquisition of new friends, – shared Kristina Lapitskaya. We advise all our friends and students to boldly use the huge opportunities provided by the Faculty of Economics and Management and Kupala University in terms of participation in academic mobility programs.
