This year 21 participants gathered in the framework of the educational training “International educational training camp on the solving of tasks of championships on Programming” under support of «Moscow ACM ICPC Workshops», which was held in the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. Those were students of YKSUG as well as of National University of Science and Technology MISiS and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
All the participants were divided into two divisions. They have spent 8 working days in each of them. First four days were thematic and included three-hour individual contest, analysis of tasks and lectures. Next four days consisted of five-hour team competitions with analysis of tasks.
The trainers for the participants represented three higher educational establishments: Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, National University of Science and Technology MISiS and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Traditionally contests offered by the lecturer of the Faculty of Economy and Management of YKSUG have high level of complexity and require deep knowledge of mathematics. This year was not exception: it was not easy for the participants to cope with the tasks.
As the result of the camp the best team in the first division (“A”) became team of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, which included students Alexandr Kulkov, Dmitry Ivashchenko and Albert Sverdlov. In the second division the team from the National University of Science and Technology MISiS won the competition. The team was represented by the student Olga Petrova.
Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was represented by two teams: students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics Vitaly Zanevsky and Arseny Kolosov participated in the first division, students of the Faculty of Economy and Management Victor Odynets, Yegor Lopata and Michael Romanchuk participated in the second division.
- The camp was successful this year, - said one of the organizers of educational training, a senior lecturer of the Department of Mathematical and Information Support of the economic systems of the Faculty of Economics and Management Yuri H. Stepin. - The level has become hirer in comparison with the last year. This is due to the increasing of the number of participants, teachers, and with the accumulation of the experience of such events. Members and trainers say that such educational training must be continued and developed.
It is worth mentioning to note that educational training camp was aimed to improve the level of preparation of the students in the sphere of Information Technologies and preparation of the participants for the international competitions on programming. In October this year, teams of students will go to the quarter-finals of one of the most prestigious championships - at the International Student Olympiad on ACM / ICPC programming. At the end of the quarter-finals the best team will participate in the semifinals and then in the final, which will take place in the spring of 2017. The winners will receive not only a well-deserved diplomas and other rewards, but also offers to start the career in the biggest IT-companies of the world.
