Yanka Kupala State University hosted a dating evening for international students

For the ninth time, a dating evening was held at the Faculty of Pre-university training "How good that we are all gathered here today." The hall was attended by representatives of students from 14 countries: Belarus, Venezuela, Iraq, Cameroon, Kenya, China, Congo, Liberia, Nigeria, New Zealand, Turkmenistan, Estonia, Eritrea and Ethiopia.

An evening of dating is a wonderful opportunity to introduce yourself. Young people performed in front of a large audience in Russian for the first time. They talked about themselves, family, country, their interests and hobbies. A listener from China, Shuai Jinjun, performed a popular Japanese musical composition on a Chinese bamboo flute, presented to the public a Chinese classical dance with books and a Russian folk dance "Kalinka". Taavi Tuulik from Estonia, together with students from Belarus and the Congo, performed the Estonian folk dance "Kaera-Jaan". A listener from Ethiopia, Bekele Betelem Tesfaye, sang a love song in her native language.

The dean of the Faculty of Pre-university Training Joseph Dornyak said that the importance of this event is to create a favorable psychological climate and conditions for adaptation to a new environment, to a new form of social relations, improving the spoken Russian language, identifying and developing the creative abilities of students.

The hosts of the dating evening were a 1st-year student of the Faculty of Law, a graduate of the Faculty of Pre-university Training, Francisco Manuel Ruiz Hernandez (Venezuela) and a 5th-year student of the Faculty of Arts and Design Shakhyrova Nazli (Turkmenistan).

The atmosphere of celebration and friendship united those present. We are sure that the holiday will be remembered for a long time.
