YANKA KUPALA STATE UNIVERSITY EXPANDS COOPERATION WITH THE BALTIC UNIVERSITY NETWORK

The teachers of Yanka Kupala State University visited Tallinn University as part of the EduBUP project “Redefining pedagogy for the implementation of education for sustainable development in the Baltic University programme” Within the framework of the project, a scientific-practical seminar was held in Tallinn.

         Coordinator of the Baltic University programme at Yanka Kupala State University, associate professor of the department of translation and intercultural communication Elena Gulevich, associate professor of the department of ecology Olga Kremleva, senior teacher of the department of Romance-Germanic philology Elena Jukh and head of the Legal Clinic, senior teacher of the department of civil law and process Natalia Ramult attended the meeting.

During the meetings, the priority areas of cooperation of Yanka Kupala State University with the universities of the Baltic Sea region, which are part of the Baltic University network, were discussed.

As part of the report, Olga Kremleva and Elena Jukh told how the components of education for sustainable development are being introduced into the educational, scientific-methodical and educational processes at Yanka Kupala State University.

Elena Gulevich and Natalia Ramult presented a draft of an interdisciplinary project on the implementation of the principles of sustainable development at the YKSUG: intercultural and law issues. It is planned that the project will be implemented by the Faculty of History, Communication and Tourism and the Faculty of Law together with the Gdansk University of Technology (Poland).

In total, 17 teams from universities in Belarus, Poland, the Baltic states, Russia and Ukraine presented their ideas on the implementation of the principles of sustainable development of education in the cycle they teach.

Also at the meeting, lecturers from Belarus, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden discussed the presentations of Professor Uppsala University Shepard Ureni (Sweden), Professor of the Institute of Sustainable Development Raa Raus (Estonia) and Professor of the University Gävle Rodrigo Lozano (Sweden).
