The internship at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

The internship of PhD students Utepova Daniye and Smihan Ekerbulan of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University took place at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

The purpose of the internship was to master the «Optical spectroscopy equipment and devices. Methods of studying the structure and features of metal oxides» course as well as «Practical aspects of the X-ray diffractometry» course. The internship took place in the radiation material science research laboratory and spectroscopy and optics of nanostructures scientific research laboratory.

The head of the Department of General Physics and the member of the RADIUM project working group Alexander Maskevich demonstrated the application of the spectrometry measurement system for analyzing the face of CdSe/ZnS and AgInS semiconductor nanoparticles on the Fourie Nicolet iS10spectomery measurement system.

The professor of the Department of General Physics and the member of the RADIUM project working group Natalia Strekal held a seminar on Localization of a nanoparticle in a one-dimensional box as well as Simulation of quantum-well effect on the computer with the numeral solution of the Schrödinger equation for the particle localized in a potential different size box.

The associate professor of the Department of General Physics Inna Motevich helped with mastering the practical application of the confocal laser scanning microscopy to the analysis of the local pH biological tissues on the Nanofinder S Solar confocal metrospectrometer. The associate professor of the Department of General Physics Gennady Vasiliuk and the postgraduate of the Faculty of Physics and Technology Pavel Karpach introduced the methods of complex systems analysis using the NT-MDT atomic-force microscope.

The vice-dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology and the head of the RADIUM project Natalia Valko helped Dania and Ekerbulan to master the theoretical foundations of the interaction between ionizing radiation and a chemical, demonstrated the methods of research of various chemicals using X-ray diffractometry methods.
