How to become a student
Admission of foreign citizens
Invitation to study
Foreign citizens wishing to study at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno need to obtain an invitation, which will allow them to open a visa to study at a consular office of the Republic of Belarus.
To receive an official invitation, a foreign citizen must provide the following documents:
a copy of the document on education indicating the subjects studied and the grades (scores) obtained in the examinations;
a copy of passport or other identity document;
a copy of the birth certificate;
HIV- free certificate;
! Each document in a foreign language must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Belarusian or Russian. Documents can be notarized either in the country of citizenship or upon arrival in Belarus. Except for notarization of the identity document, which must be done on the territory of Belarus.

After receiving the documents of the candidate for training, the university carries out their examination and makes a decision on the possibility of issuing an invitation to study.
The University sends a scan copy of the invitation to study to the candidate for training. The Department of citizenship and migration sends notification of the approval of the invitation to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the candidate's country of residence.
The candidate for training applies for a study visa at the consular office of the Republic of Belarus at the place of his/her residence or upon arrival at the airport of Minsk.
In accordance with the requirements of the border control authorities of the Republic of Belarus, as well as the General Consular Department, citizens obtaining a visa at the consular section of Minsk National Airport must notify the university 15 days prior to arrival of the date of arrival and itinerary. A visa will be issued at the airport ONLY in the presence of all necessary documents and in the presence of an official representative of the university.
CANDIDATES FOR TRAINING RECEIVE AN INVITATION FOR FREE. A fee is charged for re-issuance of a training invitation.
SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS
Inform the Recruiting and registration of international citizens department about the date of arrival in the Republic of Belarus no later than 3 days before arrival.
On the day of crossing the border of the Republic of Belarus or on the day following it, you should apply to Recruiting and registration of international citizens department, which is located at Lenina Street, 32-2, Grodno.
In addition to the previously sent documents, the following original documents must be submitted in a personal capacity in order to receive an official invitation:
Identity document
Document on education indicating the subjects studied and the grades (scores) received in the examinations.
Certificate of recognition of the document on education and establishing its equivalence (conformity) to the document on education of the Republic of Belarus (in the absence of an agreement on mutual recognition of documents on education) - for applicants for bachelor's, master's and postgraduate studies.
Birth certificate
Medical report on the state of health issued by a health care institution of the Republic of Belarus
HIV- free certificate
Medical insurance policy (countries for which insurance is optional - Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and others)
6 photographs (3X4 cm)

Additionally, enrolment in the university requires:
To undergo a compulsory medical examination in a health care institution of Republic of Belarus. The obtained medical report on the state of health must be submitted to the university for admission;
To pass an interview in the language of instruction (Russian/English);
To pass an additional interview on the subject - in case of admission to the magistracy; on the discipline "Art" or "Physical Education and Sports" - in case of admission to the corresponding specialties;
To draw up a contract for training;
Pay the tuition fee at the university (payment is made within 5 working days after the conclusion of the training contract) for 1 semester or academic year.
Additional compulsory expenses
Compulsory medical insurance for one year - 170 USD.
Registration in the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Belarus at the place of stay and place of residence for one year - 60 USD.
Medical commission - 70 USD
Daily food expenses - 10 USD
Public transport fare from 0.25 USD for 1 trip
Taxi
Transfer from the airport - from 100 USD. Transfer from the airport - from USD 100 (for a group of 10 people or more - USD 20 per person).
All international students are provided with a place in the university hostel
Technology Transfer Center – is a separate structural unit of the educational institution Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno (TTC).
Its mission is providing services to support the transfer of technology and the development of innovation and entrepreneurship.

We advise on the search for sources of innovative financing: innovative projects in the framework of state and regional programs, innovation funds, the program of the European Union, etc.

We provide assistance to companies and research organizations to find reliable partners in the Republic of Belarus and abroad for:
Maintenance of the regional scientific and technical program of Grodno region "Sustainable innovative development of Grodno region".
The main goal of the program is the integration of resources and subjects of science, industry and the social sector for scientific and technical support of the social and economic development of the Grodno region for 2016-2020 as well as the effective use of available resources to achieve sustainable social and economic development of Grodno region through the introduction of new technologies, modernization and technical re-equipment of the operating ones, primarily based on the introduction of knowledge-based, resource, energy-saving and environmentally safe technologies and the achievement of significant progress in the industrial and agricultural spheres.
The development of competences for innovative activity
Promoting innovation We promote innovation through seminars, publications of methodological and analytical materials, organization of exhibitions and innovative projects competitions. We participate in the implementation of the projects on the development of innovative activities, innovative entrepreneurship and increasing investment attractiveness.

TWO REPRESENTATIVES OF YANKA KUPALA STATE UNIVERSITY OF GRODNO TOOK PART IN THE STUDY VISIT AND INFORMATION SEMINAR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF BARCELONA AND WORKSHOP-TRAINING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTO
On June 11-16, 2018 the representatives of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno Darya Shpak, Head of educational and methodical department for quality management of education and Sviatlana Hanchar, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages participated in the Study Visit and Information Seminar at the University of Barcelona and Workshop-training at the University of Porto within the framework of the Erasmus+ project PRINTeL - “Change in Classroom: Promoting Innovative Teaching and Learning to Enhance Student Learning Experience in Eastern Partnership Countries”.
The Study Visit and Information Seminar at the University of Barcelona took place on June 11-12, 2018. The representatives of YKSUG got acquainted with modern experience of the Teaching Staff Development Centers (TSDC), their activity, structure and undergoing training programmes. The main organizers of the event were Joan-Thomàs Pujolà and Marina Sole Catala – professors at the University of Barcelona (BU). During the seminars the representatives of the Project’s European partner universities made presentations and shared their experience. The Workshop-Training «Sharing Experiences, Promoting Bridges in Education» was held in the University of Porto. The main objective of the Workshop-Training was the development of Eastern PC universities TSDC administrative staff’s competence in the area of operation of TSDCs, development and realization of innovative training programmes and working out of new operational plans. One of the tasks for the participants of the workshop was the development of a concept of TSDC. During the round table meeting, the representatives of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Belarusian State University and Brest State Technical University discussed the prospects for the development of the Belarusian system of qualification upgrading and retraining as well as presented their vision of TSDC in the structure of the higher education institution.
The first coordination meeting of the Project Steering Committee (PSC) took place on June 16, 2018 at the University of Porto, where European and Eastern PC institutional coordinators participated. During the coordination meeting the Work group leaders reported on the progress of activities in the framework of the project. The Coordination meeting was chaired by the head of PRINTeL project, director of YSU Quality Assurance Center Armen Budaghyan.

The teaching experience of legal disciplines in the Yanka Kupala State University is adopted in the Kazan (Privolzhsky) Federal University
At the present time, Professor Igor Martynenko, Head of the Department of Civil Law and the Process of the University of Grodno, conducts in an internally-distance form lessons on the preservation of the world cultural heritage in the post-Soviet space and in Eastern Europe at the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies of the KFU.
This is the first experience of teaching law at the higher educational institutions by the employees of the Kupala University.
As Professor Igor Martynenko, the head of the department of civil law and process, said that this demonstrate the recognition of the work of Belarusian specialists in developing legal measures to protect historical and cultural heritage, which take into account the experience of the CIS countries.
Igor Eduardovich is one of the participants in the development and implementation of unique training courses "Preservation of the World Cultural Heritage in the Post-Soviet Space and in Eastern Europe", "Normative and Legal Framework and Law Enforcement Practices for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage in the Russian Federation and CIS Countries" in the Kazan (Volga) Federal university. Currently, within the framework of the courses, the professor lectures for undergraduates of the specialization “International Relations” (World Cultural Heritage: International Management) of Kazakhstan, China, Russia and Turkmenistan in an internally-distance form.

Volunteers from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Mongolia gathered at Polessk State University for the fifth time at the International Festival of Volunteer Teams "Our Choice is a Healthy Lifestyle!"
Yanka Kupala Grodno State University was represented for the second time by the team of volunteers “Vesta +”, which includes students from the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Physical Culture. The team is headed by Elena Lapkovskaya, the Deputy Dean for ideological and educational work of the Pedagogical Faculty and Vitaly Tarasov, the Deputy Dean for ideological and educational work of the Faculty of Physical Culture.
On the first day of the festival, trainings and acquaintances were held. Participants presented their visiting cards and presentations of online designing in an unusual situation of interaction "If not we, who else?" and also they held a dance flash mob.
- Our volunteers have organized an interactive platform "The color of mood!" And actively proved themselves during the work of the discussion areas. Intest interest among the children was caused by the discussion "We write a book of the festival together!" to promote content in social networks,"- Elena Lapkovskaya said. - On World AIDS Day, December, 1, the GRSU students took part in an international online conference "Medical and social issues related to the prevention and treatment of HIV / AIDS" and became the organizers of the action "Become a Donor - Give Life" and participants in a sporting event.
The national volunteer team demonstrated their volunteer activity skills on the sites of the Center for Correction and Development Training and Rehabilitation of the Pinsk district, and they visited the Pinsk Children's Hospital with the event "Hospital Clowns".
During the forum the participants had a unique opportunity to try their skills in gymnastics, yoga, Latin American and modern dances during the sports festival.
- During the festival participants received new knowledge, acquired the necessary experience and shared their own, they passed interesting tests, met new interesting people, and, most importantly, found many new friends," – Elena Nikolaevna said.
At the end of the holiday there was the concert "HLS - light with us!", Within the framework of which the Grodno University team performed with a musical miniature "You are leading a healthy lifestyle!".
The Week of Pedagogical Excellence started for the second time in the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno
The Week of Pedagogical Excellence at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno became the next stage in the realization of the creative ideas of the participants of the author's course of Andrei Korol, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, "The methodology of teaching through discovery: how to teach everyone in different ways, but equally."
The results of the educational discoveries were presented by Yekaterina Pchelnik and Elena Lapish, lectuters of the Technological College Educational Institution "The Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno".
How to use the social network as an educational resource? The participants of the workshop together with the experienced presenters tried to answer this question. Particular attention was focused on the potential of the social network Instagram.
Yekaterina Pchelnik said:" At times teachers look skeptical at the possibilities of using social networks in the educational process. But if you come with a certain amount of imagination and creativity, Instagram will prove useful not only for communicating with students, but also for implementing a variety of teaching tasks".
The participants of the workshop, among them are lecturers, students, teachers, representatives of Grodno regional institute of the development of education, got a clear idea about increasing of opportunities of the usual training session, posting the results of the completed tasks of the Internet lesson, holding a contest of question, commenting on the results of the perfomed work, organizing a review of the mistakes with the help of Instagram. The presenters of the worhshop told about the usage of social networks for distribution of information about the activities of the Technological College and establishing contacts with the entrants.
The proposed topic evoked a warm response from the participants of the workshop. They were interested in the issues of the effective usage of the Instagram network in working with various groups of students. The possibilities of a reasonable combination of social networks and traditional forms of learning activity were actively discussed.
The administration and volunteers of the union "Nadezhda" of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno handed gifts to students of the Special Needs School No. 1
As part of pre-New Year's actions, the Faculty of Economics and Management did not miss the chance to arrange a small and sincere holiday for the children.
On December 4, Marina Karpitskaya, Chairman of the Primary Organization OO "BSG"of the Yanka Kupala State University, Alexander Kulikov, Vice-Dean On the Ideological and Educational Work of the faculty, Larisa Skvortsova, senior lecturer of the Department on International Business and Marketing, and students of the Faculty of Economics and Management, who are participants of the volunteers union "Nadezhda", made a visit to Grodno Special Needs School No. 1. Students handed to children stationery, toys, books, sports equipment, purchased with funds derived from charity fairs within the framework of the action"Hold a hand". It is reminder, that there everyone was able to realize their hand-made items and give warmth of their hands to children waiting for magic.
In the school, under the direction of Larisa Skvortsova, the students of the faculty organized a workshop and together with the children they made New Year cards.
The students said: "It's very nice to realize that we made them a little happier. In the eyes of the children there was so much happiness and joy that this could not allow anyone to stay indifferent on the eve of Christmas."
